Avoid

I ordered a Baby Jogger double pram on 9th February for an upcoming holiday on 19th May, specifically arranging delivery for 15th May to allow time for any unexpected issues.

On Tuesday, I was informed that the double pram I had booked could no longer be provided due to “courier issues.” However, I was reassured that a suitable alternative would be offered if the original pram could not be delivered in time.

Today, the day before the booking I was then told that no double pram could be provided at all and that my only option was two separate single prams or a refund. Anyone travelling alone or managing two very young children will understand how completely impractical and unreasonable that suggestion is. The entire purpose of booking a double pram was to safely and realistically manage both children while travelling.

What is most disappointing is not only the failure to provide the service booked over three months ago, but the complete lack of accountability or meaningful attempt to resolve the situation. Instead of offering a genuine solution, the conversation was abruptly ended with “you will be refunded.”

This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have encountered. Families rely on these bookings when travelling with young children, and cancelling essential equipment at the last minute with no workable alternative creates enormous stress and inconvenience.

I would strongly advise other parents to avoid this service, particularly if you are depending on them for important travel plans.

I must, however, correct several inaccuracies in your account of events.

Firstly, I was not contacted “seven days prior” to the booking. I was first contacted on Tuesday regarding a booking that was due to begin on Friday. Your statement suggesting you provided a week’s notice is therefore incorrect. The pram was not lost on a flight, you actually told me Parcelforce failed to pick it up? You do realise I have the texts right?

Secondly, I did not decline the alternative stroller offered. During our communication, I was informed that the replacement could potentially arrive before the 19th, and I responded that this was acceptable and that, if necessary, I would consider an alternative replacement. At no stage did I refuse or decline the options discussed. Furthermore, at no point was I made aware the two single strollers connected.

Your email states multiple times that alternatives were offered and declined by me. This is simply not true and does not accurately reflect our communication.

I appreciate that the original issue may have been outside of your control. However, it is important that the facts are represented accurately, particularly when responding to a customer complaint. The issue here is not only the cancellation itself, but also the misrepresentation of my responses and the timeline of events.

My exact response regarding the double stroller was “Ok that’s great. Please do keep me updated and if an alternative is required please do let me know. As I say as long as we get it before the 19th that’s suffice.”

Thank you for your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry for the frustration and stress caused so close to your travel date — we understand how important reliable equipment is when travelling with young children.
We would, however, like to clarify the steps we took in advance to try and avoid this situation. Seven days prior to your booking, we contacted you proactively to explain that the originally reserved double stroller had been impacted due to an earlier customer’s airline losing the item. At that point, we offered a suitable alternative double stroller, but this option was declined.
In the days leading up to your booking, we continued exploring every possible solution. As a contingency, we offered two single strollers that can be connected to function as a double, with next-day delivery to ensure you would not be left without equipment. We appreciate this may not have been your preferred option, but it was put forward as a practical and immediate solution under the circumstances. This was also declined.
As no available alternatives met your requirements, we issued a full refund promptly.
We truly regret that on this occasion we were unable to meet your expectations. Situations involving lost airline items are unfortunately outside of our control, but we always aim to communicate early and provide workable alternatives wherever possible.
We appreciate your comments and will continue working to improve both our contingency planning and communication.

Found Tiny explorers on google and what a god send, loads of kiddy equipment to choose from, great value and great service. Highly recommend if travelling with little ones

Faulty product

I hired inflatables for my children on a long haul flight. Sadly both were faulty and deflated on the flights, meaning two very challenging journeys. Tiny explorers seem to have refused to take accountability and are charging the full fee despite faulty goods, I wouldn’t recommend this company for hires.

Fast delivery, excellent product range

We rented a travel stroller quite last minute but the delivery was prompt! We truly enjoyed the stroller and was glad with the range and even colours provided. Customer service was super helpful when I have questions on the return package. I would definitely rent from them again and recommend them to my mummy friends.

Terrible customer service

The product delivered was not as shown in the pictures and description. When I raised this with customer service they were extremely rude and dismissive, would not recommend Tiny Explorers as a service.

Very impressed with this company!

Very impressed with this company. Communication was great, the item came in plenty of time for our holiday. It was super clean and I felt the loan item was very reasonably priced!

Will definitely be using tiny explorers again for future travel.

Great company. Really easy to use and very efficient. Planepal was great for my Son on our holiday to Orlando. Returning the product was easy also. Would certainly use them again

Wanted proof of address - shady

I rented a snoo bassinet

Pros:
* was well packaged, and shipped exactly on the date specified, and the crib was clean and in excellent condition.
* pickup was easy and straightforward and they organised all the admin.

Cons:
* They wanted proof of address (a water bill) and ID (I gave them my driving license). To me this seems completely unnecessary for a 30day rental costing ~£100. If they were worried about theft risk they could have held a deposit. They refused to engage in conversations about what this information might be used for, and were very blunt that this information would be required or the rental wouldn’t ship. This is a completely unreasonable policy that should be dropped ASAP. Competitors like Baboodle (who I have also used) do not ask for this information and have friendlier customer support.

Thank you for your feedback — we’re really pleased to hear that you found the crib to be in excellent condition, well packaged, and that the collection process ran smoothly.

We would, however, like to address your concerns regarding ID and proof of address. For certain higher-risk rentals, we are required to carry out additional verification checks as part of our safeguarding, fraud prevention, and insurance obligations. In this instance, there were a few indicators that meant these checks were necessary — including this being a short-term rental of a longer-term use product, and a mismatch between the billing and delivery address (albeit both within the UK). These are standard risk flags across the rental industry, and in such cases we are required to request supporting ID.

This approach is not unique to us. For example, Baboodle also states within their FAQs that identification may be requested for higher-risk rentals.

We also make this requirement very clear in our Terms & Conditions, which are presented at checkout and must be agreed to before placing an order. By proceeding with the booking, you confirmed that you had read and understood these terms.

We fully appreciate that this may not have aligned with your expectations, and we’re always looking to improve how we communicate these requirements. However, given that this policy is both standard industry practice, required by our insurers, and clearly communicated in advance, we do feel that the rating is somewhat unfair in this context.

That said, we do value your feedback and will continue to review how we apply and explain these checks to ensure the best possible customer experience.

Everything was perfect from start to…

Everything was perfect from start to finish. It was really easy to get in touch with customer service, as I wanted to add a few more items to my order, and they were so helpful. The pram arrived promptly, and the returns process was easy. I’ll definitely use them again.
