Tomplay is, in my experience, a unique platform for enjoying playing along with a sophisticated backing track, not a basic synthetic sound, but a rich and layered accompaniment. The creators are always adding pieces, and are open to receiving suggestions from subscribers. They are also very accessible, and their concern for the playing experience of their customers is most apparent.

Tomplay offers hundreds of selections along with accomaniment that can be adjusted to your desired tempo. Songs can also be downloaded to free up time. I tried a similar program called Metronaut and it didn't even come close. You could tell that all the music and accompaniment was computer generated. I play the violin at a nursing home twice a month and a hospice weekly. I previously got all my music and accompaniment from YouTube. I had many selections, but now that I have toplay, I can explore different genres of music, like vocal standards from different decades that the residents would be familiar with. Das ganze funktioniert bei Klaviernoten zT. ganz O.K. Für Chor ist so gut wie nichts vorhanden. Die Qualität der Arrangements und die Genauigkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig. Häufig total falsche Töne, die dann korrigiert werden müssen.

Ich kann am Ende eines Jahresabos leider keine positive Bilanz ziehen und habe das Abo daher auch gekündigt:

1) Für Orgel finde ich leider keine Noten.

2) Die Arrangements und Playbacks für Posaune sind manchmal sehr gut, manchmal sehr fraglich. Eine durchgehend guter Qualitätsstandard ist nicht gewährleistet.

3) Die "Fortgeschrittenen" Versionen sind oftmals nicht technisch anspruchsvoller, sondern nur grenzwertig hoch gesetzt.

4) Was mir nicht von Anfang an klar war: Sie können nur 40 Titel ausdrucken. Wenn ich ein Abo habe und damit quasi Noten kaufe, geht das gar nicht!

5) Nach Ablauf des Abos kommen Sie laut Beschreibung nicht mehr an Ihre Noten. Das ist absolut inakzeptabel. Sie verlieren somit alle Noten, die Sie eigentlich "gekauft" und damit bezahlt haben. Vermutlich will man Kunden somit lebenslänglich binden. Ein absolutes No-Go!!!

6) Playbacks können nur innerhalb der App genutzt werden. Das ist eine gewaltige Einschränkung. Vermutlich gibt es lizenzrechtliche Gründe. Aber es ist nicht möglich, ein Playback offline (z.B. als heruntergeladene Datei auf einer hochwertigen HiFi-Anlage) zu spielen.

7) Der Player selbst ist... Naja. Sagen wir ruckelig und die Musik folgt nicht immer so, wie ich es gerne hätte.

Insgesamt bietet das System einige nette Ansätze, aber sehr viele sehr einschneidende Limitierungen. Der kommerzielle Gedanke steht über Allem.

Ich empfehle dringend (und werde es auch wieder so halten), lieber Play Along Hefte zu kaufen. Hier habe ich sauber ausgedruckte Noten und Playbacks auf Tonträger oder zum freien Download. Alles kann flexibel und im Zweifelsfall ohne Handy, Tablett, Internet genutzt werden.

I am one of what I’m sure are countless musicians who can say with certainty that Tomplay has changed their musical life. It has been many decades since I finished university, and it’s been years since I last played in a community orchestra. Still, I’ve always loved my violin and carried an endless curiosity for exploring new music. But playing unaccompanied violin in my living room eventually grew lonely.

I tried using mp3 accompaniments for a while, but the experience was hit or miss—some tracks were clear enough to follow, many were not. Then along came Tomplay, and everything changed. Their interactive scores, beautifully crafted arrangements, and high‑quality accompaniments opened a door I didn’t realize I’d been waiting for.

It actually took me a full year after subscribing to finally buy a dedicated tablet and download the app, but once I did, I never looked back. The sheer bounty and diversity of music available is staggering. It truly feels like a gift to anyone who loves to play.

Tomplay has engaged me, enlivened me, inspired me, and yes—emboldened me. It feels wonderful to be the lead voice in the band, or the classical soloist, playing with accompaniments I never had access to before. For the first time in ages, I feel like I’m making music with others again, even from my own living room.

I am a new member and really enjoy playing my violin with this app. It's very easy to use. There are many pieces to choose to play with, as a back tracking for fun, or you can choose to play along with your part to get a better intonation. I especially like the super clever page turning as well. And if you are looking for some more music which they don't have at the moment, you are welcome to send email about your request as well. They will have a prompt feedback to you. Very nice team. Highly recommend to all.

I've just registered a Yamaha Alto Sax, and received a 90-day premium membership. I'm an absolute beginner to reading music and playing an instrument.

This application and platform with its resources, has blown me away. It is so intuitive, adaptable and, honestly, it's becoming addictive.

The visual experience is crisp, clear and easy to follow. The scores are quick to load, there are several display options, fingering guide, accompaniment choices, volume levels and play along or wait modes.

I love the wait mode, that won't process until it hears you play the correct note. I use the note letters and loop feature to keep me focussed.

Basically, after a couple of days, I'm playing most of the notes correctly – next, I hope I'll add some tempo and melody to my playing.

Le service client a répondu très rapidement à ma demande. Ma démarche d'abonnement ne me faisait pas bénéficier de l'offre annoncée (30% sur l'abonnement)ce jour-là. Tomplay m'a de suite annoncé la mise en oeuvre du remboursement au hauteur de l'offre. Parfait.

I play Tenor Sax and Bass. Some days ago I found the song "An Tagen wie Diese" von Toten Hosen. I found a Tenor Sax-Version and a Bass-Version. Both fit ntogether. I asked Tomplay If they could combine these two versions into one playback.
They madeit...and it is fantastic. Now I can decide, if a play the song on my Bass or on my Tenor Sax. Really great
