They stole money from me by not honouring an order I made. avoid like the plague
Wasn't the best experience...
I purchased some suspension forks from these guys a while ago, while they were the cheapest I suffered for that.
It took them about a month to turn up due to them being out of stock though they were marked as "in stock" on the website...
I did have a warranty issue with the forks which was corrected within 2 weeks of me shipping them off (seals leaking) which was a decent turn around but they sent them back in a box that wasn't the the original box I sent them in which would no doubt cause issues with any future warranty claims... was this done on purpose? who knows...
Stay Away
Stay Away. Ordered an e13 Cassette than never arrived. Asked for a refund that I never received. Wrote emails that were never returned, except for an out of office message from Peter Currey, the owner, who is apparently, permanently out of office. Peak Bikes lied to me and was told that its UBKY's fault but from the social media posts its clear they are the same company. Its been over 4 months and still nothing. Wrote a comment on their FB ads, and they blocked me.

Peak Bikes Chesterfield – Absolute Joke – AVOID AT ALL COST!
Peak Bikes Chesterfield – Absolute Joke – AVOID AT ALL COST!
3rd Feb - Order placed with Mr Currey
12th Feb - Deposit paid
21st Feb - Finance agreement signed
12th April 7:40pm - Bike delivered;
• Rear tyre completely flat and the sidewall damaged to rubbing in the van during transit
• Old generation Shimano Saint brakes fitted (I-Spec B not the new I-Spec 2)
• Brake hoses not trimmed
• Brake hoses incorrectly routed
• Incorrect front brake adapter – 180mm adapter fitted to a 203mm disc
• Invisiframe – In a word…shocking, bubbles everywhere and already damaged in places (a new kit was provided and I fitted this myself)
• Small scratch on frame attempted to be covered up using a patch of Invisiframe
• Hope head set fitted however a random top bearing cover used instead of a genuine part
• Borrowed forks and shock fitted as DVO order not in yet (yes this is a plus as it got me out riding... however waiting 6 months for parts due to them not being ordered is unacceptable!)
26th April - Contacted fork and shock supplier (Windwave) - DVO forks only just ordered and shock not even ordered yet.
29th April - Fork posted to myself, still no word on the rear shock.
17th May - After being told to expect the shock on the 21st May, I rang to check this with the supplier and now have to wait until the 15th June for the shock to arrive and that it was only ordered on the 26th April.
15th June - Still no sign of the shock. Contacted Windwave and the 15th June was never mentioned to Peak Bikes. Now told the shock wont arrive until the 5th July.
11th July - Still waiting on my DVO Jade rear shock, it’s in stock at Windwave but god knows how long it will take to receive it.
16th July - Photo received of the shock in the Chesterfield store (their only store besides the claims of Oxford and Brighton still appearing on their site and Facebook etc…)
18th July - Facebook message at 2am in response to me asking if my shock had been shipped to me yet. Apparently posted first class Wednesday evening.
19th July - Still no sign of the Shock arriving or being provided with any tracking information and I’m not hopeful that with will arrive tomorrow…
20th July - Shock finally received, thank god this absolutely horrendous experience is over!
Throughout the process Mr Peter Currey has been a royal pain in my backside and is now unreachable other than via Facebook messenger and this only due to me posting negative comments on their advertising posts on Facebook in order to provoke some kind of response.
My completion/delivery date of my order was never made clear to me during any stage of the buying process and I was passed from pillar to post time after time. I made it explicitly clear that I needed this bike no later than noon on the 12th April due to going away to race the first round of the British National Endruo Series. I had to wait around at home till 7:40pm for the bike to make an appearance with all the faults that are listed above.
My finance agreement has now been made live even though I am not in full receipt of my order and a complaint has been lodged with the finance company.
There is one good thing to say though…. The lads in the workshop have been brilliant (when the phone eventually gets answered from my relentless calls) and can’t be faulted or blamed for any of the horrendous level of customer service that Mr Currey thinks is acceptable and still continues to provide. Avoid this business at all costs and lads… get out while you can, you deserve better!
If anyone wants more information on any of the matters above please contact me. I have a mass of emails, text messages and photos as evidence that I’m willing to share. Don’t be the next victim!
I look forward to your response to this review containing more lies.

The new website is looking great and the service uybk and peak bikes offer is great.
Still waiting...
Ordered a saddle from ubyk who took the money off my credit card in April this year. I am still waiting for delivery. Phone calls are never returned. I have sent a number of emails asking if the saddle has been dispatched and if not, requesting a refund. I have had a couple of replies expressing concern, stating the order was "processing" but none which answered my questions. Peak bikes have not resolved any of these issues since taking over.
Peak Bikes well worth a visit!
Popped into Peak Bikes on the way back up to Sheffield today and was really impressed. Was greeted by Tom who certainly knows his s*** and more importantly took the time to have a full on chat about bikes with me. As a customer who just came for a browse I thought this was great. Tom even took the time to realign my rear calliper! For such a small space (with plans on expanding!) it had a bit of everything especially when it came to overseas brands. I ended up buying the Oneup Components EDC tool (yes they stock them!) i’d been lusting after for months now!! They also stock Commencal, Rocky Mountain, Burgtec, Oneup and Wolftooth Components (their pack pliers are awesome!) AND they price match, to CRC no less!! Ignore the bad press from the online crowd and go pay them a visit in person. That’s what LBS are for!!!
AVOID!!!!
AVOID!!!!
I bought a groupset using credit from this site. There was a problem with the credit approval, I emailed the ubyk support email, they sorted that out quickly. Once the credit agreement was approved, I received no order confirmation email from ubyk. 3 days later and 3 emails to the support email address with no response, i rang the credit company to cancel. They informed me that ubyk had already request payment from them, which they are not allowed do until the goods are received.
I normally do not write reviews but I feel the need to warn people about this website!!
Very poor
Very poor. Took 6 days to arrive. Ordered an XTR chain and they sent me an XT. Ordered an ethirteen TRS+ cassette and the sent the e*spec version which was not listed on their website; not heard of that before, but it weighs significantly more and split is between cogs 1 & 2, not 3 & 4. Given how long it took I couldn't wait to send back so had to install these parts. Sent them a polite email about it and they didn't even have the curtesy to respond
Same experience as others here- stay away
Ordered an in stock item two weeks ago, still waiting. The online follow-up system does not work. I’ve emailed them six times to figure out a) are they working on my order b) when can I expect to receive it. Now they’ve stopped responding to emails. Incredibly bad customer service.
BAD...STAY AWAY ....
What can I say ordered a bike 3 weeks ago for my grandsons birthday was promised would be delivered on time from
Mr Peter Curry. Was told Mr curry would deliver the Bike personally in their own van 1st lie ....then was told parcel
Force had picked the bike up for delivery I rang parcel force with the delivery tracking number given to me by Mr Peter curry nope 2nd lie .... rang again got Mr Curry to check the number with Parcel force and get back to me was told the bike was out for delivery. Nope 3rd lie ... the day of my grandsons birthday No bike .. rang again and said I was coming to collect the bike in person
Was told Mr Peter curry had gone to parcel force to fetch the bike back mmmm lie number 4 rang parcel
Force again and was told nothing had been picked up from there address and there was nothing out for delivery to mine ....
so off I go to chesterfield to sort this mess out On arrival Mr Peter curry was no where to be seen surprise surprise ..... the Bike was there after Mr Peter Curry had apparently chased parcel force to retrieve the bike lie number 5 ...thought the bike was out for delivery according to Mr Peter Curry.... Now this poor chap Tom hands the bike to me ... how could I be cross with him when Mr Peter Curry should of sorted this mess out .... so poor Tom gets 5 stars for his help and for being left to sort Mr Peter Curry's mess and lies out .. so STAY AWAY from this company I’m still waiting for them to email my receipt over and I will go back to chesterfield to get it if MR Peter Curry’s doesn’t send it over via e mail ....
not good one week to get a part and 4…
not good one week to get a part and 4 phone calls and emails
Went From 1 Star to 3
Order was messed up by their payment system (SagePay) & not their fault. Email went unanswered, however they did pickup the phone when shop was supposed to be closed and sorted things out there & then. Product arrived 2 days later after this after the initial 2 week delay. Got there in the end and would use them again.
Managed to get everything wrong. Not recommended.
For starters, the price of the item in question was £135, yet when selected for purchase, it magically became £153. I queried this in an email but it was not answered. When I tried to buy the item using Paypal, the payment failed to go through, yet I received an email thanking me for my order (with a subtext that said 'this is not a confirmation of your order'. I called to query this and was told that they stopped using Paypal some weeks ago. The tone of voice when explainng this to me was as if I should have known all along. When I eventually managed to pay for the item by card, which the site stated was in stock, I received an email telling me that the item was not in stock and would take 6-8 weeks to arrive. It's not often that a business manages to get everything wrong. A waste of time and energy from start to finish.
Ubyk / Peak Bikes - An Utter Debacle.
I was pleased to see Peak Bikes in Chesterfield pick up the baton from the failing Ubyk shops in Oxford and Brighton, but afraid my first and only experience of using them online was one of utter incompetence. Placed a major order (£1.7k!) by PayPal which went strangely silent, only to discover that Ubyk's PayPal account had been suspended. Managed to get a refund back from PayPal, which was held up by PayPal for 5 days. Peak Bikes then attempted to get the items from Ubyk by courier which relegated to debacle, after delays in the promised delivery dates. Nearly 2 weeks after the original order and still nothing. In the end I cancelled, ordered the same items from Merlin who despatched them by tracked DPD within 1 hour, and a next day delivery - this is how you run a modern business. Do not waste your time with Ubyk / Peak Bikes.
I never usually take my bikes to a bike…
I never usually take my bikes to a bikeshop for work doing on them, prefer to do it myself so I can guarantee that it's done properly! However as my LOOK 695 Aero Light has a lot of non-standard, super difficult to source parts + needed it servicing and new bearings installed for the ZED2 Cranks, I took a punt and contacted Pete at Peak Bikes (UBYK) Chesterfield. He did a great job and went more than the extra mile finding & fitting specialist parts. Great comms, very approachable, knowledgeable kept me updated throughout and a reasonable price at the end of it all.
I will be taking my bikes to Peak Bikes again, with out a doubt.
*Warning *Do not buy anything online
*Warning *Do not buy anything online . I bought pedals online , have received them , they do not answer emails or the contact number on the website
Still Shadey
Still Shadey
saw that peak bikes have bought the company so thought everything would be ok.
Bought an item on wednesday with 24 hour delivery. item hasnt arrieved yet 5 days later, contacted store and they said it should be with me today, gave me a royal mail tracking code but it only arrived at the post office on friday. my guess is they took the money to do fast shipping but have sent it out normally. will be phoning them tomorrow to check again and hopefully sort it out.
The price might be better than other stores but this company name is cursed, no good has come from it.
