Very disappointing customer service from a premium brand.
I purchased a BAPE T-shirt as a birthday gift for my daughter. Unfortunately, it was too large, so I contacted customer service to request a simple exchange for a smaller size. I was not asking for a refund—only to swap an unworn item for the correct size.
Despite explaining that the T-shirt was a birthday present and offering to visit the Soho store in person, BAPE repeatedly refused to make any exception because the request was just outside their 14-day return period. Although they apologised, they showed no flexibility or willingness to help.
For a premium-priced brand, I expected a much higher level of customer care. Policies are important, but good customer service is about resolving genuine situations where possible. Instead, I was left with an expensive T-shirt that cannot be worn.
The product itself is great, but the after-sales service has been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not purchase from BAPE again.
Poor Customer Service and Misleading Sizing
I am a loyal Bape customer who was initially drawn to the brand’s innovative designs and durable garments.
However, when purchasing a shirt at the Bape store in Shibuya, Tokyo, I discovered that the sample “try-on” shirt did not correspond in size to the shirt I was sold. This discrepancy was not communicated to me by the staff.
When I returned the following morning to exchange the shirt for a larger size, I was met with a harsh and unhelpful reception. I was neither able to obtain the correct size nor properly explain my situation.
Unfortunately, due to this experience, I will not be purchasing from this store again.
Returns were a bit of a pain
Was a bit of a pain to return the item,
Ordered a t shirt and it was too big, contacted their customer service and was given an address to send it back to so sent it via Evri.
Received the picture of proof of delivery and it looked like it was in a bird food store. Did some googling and found it to be Haiths bird food store.
Contacted bape and they said as id sent it to the wrong address id have to wait to get it back and re-send.
Contacted haiths bird store and was told they act as a fulfilment centre for bape, eventually bape said they’d received the item and I got the refund but would have thought they could have told me they use the bird food shop for returns as originally bape said I’d sent it to the wrong address so was a bit of a faff but all ok in the end.

Item review BAPE CAMO BACKPACK
The staff and store were very good and very kind. However, I bought an expensive backpack which only turned out to last 4 weeks the straps tore. On top of that, all sales are final so I can’t exchange it. Big waste of money, it is just buying something cheap with a big name on it. Highly do not recommend it is a big scam. I had a regular adidas backpack that lasted 2 years and I can still use it, very disappointed. For a lot of money, a backpack should be able to last a year a least. I mean they are targeted toward a younger audience, who use backpacks daily. What is the use of a backpack that you cannot use? Big disappointment.

Probably the worst customer service ever. Tried to exchange a product but no one could tell me how and where to ship it. Label on delivered item was unreadable and 14 days return policy is not really helpful either. All in all frustrating and such a shame as I love the brand.

The sales lady suggested we get one size knowing they run small and considering there is no fitting room to try it on. The shirt did not fit like I wanted. I will never purchase from there again.

I received very bad customer service , they sent me trainers which was too big which was my fault, the laces was dirty they sent it me like that and i put a return label on the shoe box because they did not provide one, i placed the sticky label on the box and they tell me the box is damaged but only show a photo of the ripped sticky label which they ripped do not order from uk.bape complete scam.

Avoid like the plague. Non-existent customer service, no replies to emails, no refund process. Complete disgrace. Don't say you weren't warned. For a supposedly 'premium' product it is absolutely shocking.

Customer service support
I really rock with the brand and over the past few months I’ve copped a lot of pieces from T’s, accessories, Shoes, some of everything, even got my family wanting to get items. All this time of ordering online, everything has gone well until recently. Recently I made a purchase for a Tee for my Nephew, a Dress for my Lady, & a Belt for myself. Over excited about the order that I decided to influence my wife to get a pair of shoes. I go ahead and order the shoes the day after. Finally, my first shipment arrives and my wife lets me know that the belt isn’t in the package and that there’s weird clear tape on the bottom of the box, me knowing that’s not how UPS tapes packages I instantly contact UPS about it and make the claim. I also emailed customer service at Bape. I get a call from UPS about my claim and they go ahead and process it. A little later Bape wants photos of the box. I send them the photos only to get a email stating that another belt could be sent out, 4 minutes later another comes in stating that based on the photo from the delivery there’s nothing they could do. Huh, the photo from the delivery is only of the top of the package so there no way you could see the clear tape on the side holding the bottom up as well as the strip of clear tape on the bottom to seal it back closed. Frustrated now, I send a email explaining that the package is damaged and missing a item and that the delivery photo is of the very top of the package, therefore how can you determine that there’s no damage or tape. I stated that my pictures clearly shows the evidence I’m stating. I’ve since sent two or more emails regarding This matter with no response to this date. I’m very disappointed in Bapes customer service quality, as all I expect was a replacement, not a refund or anything extra. Just a replacement. I even have items I want to purchase in my cart now but due to the lack of customer support I’ve been hesitant to do so. Yall tell me what I should do.
