I've never used this service before, I was a bit sceptical it might be some kind of scam. Anyway I thought I'd take a risk and give it a go, I do buy and sell a lot of antiques/collectables. Sometimes though there are gaps in my knowledge, So I set up the account, sent over pictures and details. Chose the 48 hour option and waited... I did recieve a message stating "Thank you for choosing ValueMyStuff! We've sent your request to one of our experts, and you will receive an email with your appraisal report" it was also stated I'd recieve a reply within 48 hours, it will be 4 days tomorrow and I've not recieved anything. Oh I did get a receipt and confirmation of payment which was nice of them. 🤣

I was unsure of the value of my item, I thought it might be about $100-$200 but I was amazed to find out it was valued at over $1,000!

They were quick in evaluating my item also.

The appraisal arrived well within 48 hours and was far more informative even than I'd hoped. Somehow, it was also "warm" in tone, despite my item not currently being in vogue enough to merit monetary value. I'm hanging onto the piece because I learned more about it and came to admire it more than I already did! Thank you!

This service is convenient because you can apparently get a valuable item appraised from the comfort of your own home. Unfortunately, many insurance companies require a written appraisal from a brick and mortar jewelry store. SO, be sure to check before you spend money for an online appraisal
