Vasek made making a claim for flooding at a tenant's property straightforward, they were quick to respond at every step of the process from initial contact through to receiving payment.

I have encountered Vasek as underwriter only a few years ago, when they were recommended to me by our distinguished and ultra-competent brokers - Macbeth. The premium levels and contractual terms seemed to me very factually and theoretically reasonable, as well as representing good value. I've needed to submit only one claim, fortunately not heavyweight - relating to significant but not extreme storm damage. The claim was swiftly, communicatively and efficiently managed by Vasek in conjunction with our brokers, and with my input. The 'claim-value' was approved without any unwelcome rejection nor undue investigation, and the indemnification / settlement was finalised in short order and without undue delay nor hindrance. I'm most grateful - and professionally impressed - by my commercial relationship with Vasek.
Refused to help based on an absolutely shocking edge case
Slow, evasive, unhelpful and refused to help and pay based on a technicality
left us with a water damaged house for 9 weeks, called them every day for a response and plea to help, and ultimately £0 payout.
Terribly stressful experience which in the end cost me £9k out of my own pocket for the repairs. What is the point of insurance if they don't help you when disaster happens? Wriggled out of paying based on the no of hours the heating was on, due to it being fed by an oil tank. Beyond awful
Please avoid at all costs, zero customer service and client care, they added to a stressful situation, they didn't help at all. Had an enormous impact on my mental health after a difficult bereavement.

Add to that the discount I received for doing so. A big thank you!

Loss adjuster very efficient, always available to discuss the claim and communicated well with all those involved making the whole process less stressful.

We claimed for accidental damage to a piece of furniture which had unfortunately meant scrapping it and buying a new replacement.

This company deals with claims quickly and openly. As long as the information provided is truthful and clear then I would expect that it would be settled.
I can recommend Vasek over the couple of years that I have been with them
Fast settlement of our claim
Our experience of Vasek insurance was excellent. Our sewage drains were blocked & invaded by a tree root.
They came back to us extremely quickly,we provided all the relevant photos and extremely fast for an insurance company , we were told our claim had been approved & paid. On this basis I would highly recommend Vasek.
Slow, unresponsive and refuses to pay claim
Absolute scoundrels who will go to any length to avoid paying a claim. Avoid at all cost. They have refused to pay for roof repairs as the wind speed was 9mph less than a definition while admitting there was heavy rainfall. During the review process they were slow in correspondence, took almost 3 months to get an answer and then 8 weeks for the complaint response. Am taking my complaint to the financial ombudsman but ideally would not have to waste so much time with them.

Awful experience dealing with this company.
Avoid at all costs, pay more for insurance with a reputable insurance company. They have a lead insurer and are not your actual insurer, the broker did not make us aware of this. Time delays for responses are extremely long.
Bargain basement service. Really stressful, appalling response times, scrutinise the exclusion clauses as they offer cheap prices but write in exclusions that are not common in most policies.
We are referring to the FOS.
Total disgrace of a company in our experience. Don’t put yourself through it, take a policy elsewhere
Really poor customer service
Used to be a good company but since bought out gone v/badly downhill. Got quotes from other insurers but Vasek said because house had minor subsidence 20+ years ago they would refer to their under writer. Fine. Then delay & short msg then chased, nothing, delay, nothing. Write to them to complain - still nothing. Eventually told them to forget it. Shockingly bad.
Poor service
Poor service, extremely dire response times to a simple query and obviously an insurance company that is not transparent in its written terms of their policies. Would avoid at all costs.
Waiting weeks for a refund
I've been waiting weeks for a refund relating to a home insurance policy that I cancelled. I just get told that there is a backlog. No s**t Sherlock. Why not try pressing the button on the computer that transfers the money electronically. Funnily enough, there is never a delay when they are taking money from you. Thank goodness I never had to make a claim.
Don’t use Vasek ....
I had the misfortune of having my house insurance with Vasek and when I had a leak under the wooden floor I was assigned to Leanne. Leanne spoke to me with an arrogant demeanour every time I rang because I had to ask so many questions having never made a claim before. Leanne refused my builders quotation and instructed their own freelance builder to quote which he wasn’t able to so instead Leanne got a loss adjuster involved from Glasgow who had to fly to Northern Ireland to look at my floor and immediately okayed my builders quote. Leanne made the situation a lot more difficult than it ever needed to be and as long as Leanne works at Vasek I will never have house insurance with them again.

I have used Vasek Insurance for many years now and have found them to be helpful, friendly and competitive while offering comprehensive cover for various types of property insurance. Their unoccupied commercial and residentail property insurance in particular has excellent coverage with the option of "full perils" along with the added bonus of an optional interest free instalment facility is extremely helpful for customers.
