Uważajcie na tę beznadziejną platformę i nie korzystajcie z niej! Zrobiłam rezerwację przez stronę VRBO, zeszła z karty pierwsza płatność zaraz po rezerwacji, co było OK, ale przy dacie drugiej płatności zaczął się koszmar. Przycisk pay the second installment przekierowywał na główną stronę a konsultanci włączający się na czacie wypisywali mi, że właściciel wysłał im błędny link do płatności albo ja muszę wyczyścić cookies.. Pisałam z właścicielem, ten do nich dzwonił i słyszał, że ja mam dzwonić do VRBO, to mnie poprowadzą telefonicznie przez płatność online. Bzdury, bo dzwoniąc do nich na numer w Stanach, słyszałam z kolei, że maja problemy techniczne a za połączenia przyszło mi 72 USD do zapłacenia!!! Obiecywali wysyłać maile podsumowujące każdorazowo rozmowy i żadnego nie wysłali. Banda oszustów!!!! Nie polecam!

unfortunately 0 stars is not possible. this company should not even be called company
I tried to use the service when the first customer booked for 2 weeks my property. I was unable to reiceve payment because my account was locked and no option available to change or select new bank acocunt. It ended to be an useless service and never been able to receive payments therefore money are kept by VRBO and they do not provide support or solution on how to get paid on a different account (they just read procedures that does not fit with reality), and finance team, who should update your bank details, simply does not exist in this "company". Very poor quality website, full of bugs, customer service not solving technical issues and escalation team not responding to open tickets ...

Most of employees should be fired ( starting from high level management/ directorate levels) to being unable to solve issues, today you lost 1 customer (who ha been informed by me that your platform does not manage payment properly) + 1 property owner

This is the worst platform in terms of support and the most expensive in terms of commissions.

either you change your CEO and directors or your busines failure will happen soon

Huisjes niet beschikbaar en offerte aangepast (8x hoger dan op de website aangegeven).

Meerdere malen een huisje proberen te boeken. Helaas allemaal door de eigenaren afgezegd, met het bericht dat er geen beschikbaarheid is in de betreffende week. Door 1 eigenaar kregen we een andere offerte aangeboden. De prijs ging van 230 euro per nacht naar 1571 euro (nee dit is geen typefout)! Als je niet oplet zou je dit per abuis nog betalen ook. VRBO geeft aan hier niets aan te kunnen doen. Slechte website, slechte service.

worse company and worse service ever

We rented a house in Phoenix. On arrival after a long trip from Switzerland, I found out the linen was dirty in all 3 bedrooms. I reported to the owner, then to VRBO. The following morning I went to buy linen for all 3 bedrooms as I had not received any reply from the owner. After 3 days without any contact neither from the owner, nor from VRBO, I asked to cancel the 2nd booking I had done for the same house starting 1 week later. That's when the headache started: I had to call them because they couldn't help via the messaging system. Then I had to send proofs to the owner before he could consider waiving his cancellation policy. After complying with all those demands, I cancelled the booking and VRBO still intends to deduct 50% + their booking fees. They could have cancelled the booking themselves without prejudice as they are the ones who have my money. I was told the owner is paid only a day after the guests check in. But if they agree to that they will lose my precious booking fees. So at the end of the day I have spent a fortune in international calls (using my swiss cell), I spent money buying new linen I won't be able to reuse as they won't fit my beds in Switzerland, I started my holidays changing linen in 3 bedrooms and I was ripped off my hard earned money by those who are supposed to take care of my interests as a customer! I am extremely disappointed by such an unprofessional behavior and I wish I had never booked with them. I do not recommend VRBO and I will NEVER EVER use their services again.

Ripped off

We booked to stay at a property in Southport (Thistleton Mews), England for my 50th birthday (16 March) this year. We were contacted by VRBO on the actual afternoon we were meant to stay, telling us that the owner has had to cancel. We had to find our own alternative accommodation very fast, in order to save our weekend away. VRBO did zero to help us get out of that situation, that day. Several weeks on, we still have not had our refund of over £300, that we were promised by VRBO. They are still advertising the property for the owner that duped us out of our money. I have asked them to take this property down, as other people could fall victim to this crook - just as we were. As the property advertisement is still live, we have tried to leave a review of it (twice), but no review goes on. Very weird. So, there you have it. A 50th birthday weekend, along with a birthday dinner reservation we had made was ruined by VRBO. No apology offered. No alternative stay offered.No refund offered. Absolutely worthless organisation, who happily let customers get ripped off. I have since made a formal complaint to VRBO, but guess what. Nothing. A bunch of 2 year olds could run this company better, than these guys!! Hopeless

Really would not advise booking with…

Really would not advise booking with VRBO at all. Property advertised at 2663 pounds. I checked price details to see if there was loads of extras to add on but according to listing it included host fees and VRBO fees and was the correct listing. I messaged owner to ask some questions four times before I got a reply. She then tried to charge me 5991 pounds altogether. I enquired the price difference and get an reply stating that the booking wasn't going to work and maybe I should look for something in my price range what I can afford!! I contacted VRBO to ask about this and was informed that it was the price and it is up to the host. I don't want to go there now anyway due to the unprofessional host but it is still being advertised on VRBO and Home to Go at the same price. The place I wanted to go to is Bowlish House, Shepton Mallet. I really wouldn't bother. It's a con. I have also taken screenshots to prove I am not wrong.

Booking is not with confidence.

We booked through VRBO and have had a number of issues with the property. I tried to contact the owner and property manager and got no response when they will be out to fix the problems We tried to figure out from VRBO how to deal with the lack of response and their website is not clear where to go for help with issue like this.

The platform is so full of bugs it's unusable

I am a host with airbnb and other platforms for some years. The vrbo platform is just completely flakey. Fails to load on mobile. Sometimes can't see my calendar. Looses reservations. It's a pile of cr*p and wastes so much time. The help chat window as you details about a booking but you can't look this up as the chat window disappears. Terrible

VRBO Host, Avoid

I've been a host for a few years now and after we recieved a bad review for "Not having Railings" even though we clearly do and it shows in photos I decided to give them a call. I tried to explain the situation to one of their outsourced assistants. First I was hung up on, then I called and someone answered but said nothing until I hung up (I assume they get paid for just answering the phone and not resolutions), Finally I got ahold of someone. She said and I quote "I would love to get to the bottom of this for you what we can do is you can respond to the review and tell them that isn't correct". I said "wait, you mean to tell me they can just lie on reviews and carry on and leave it on your property to diminish income?". She said " yes, I'm glad we could come to such a good resolution for this situation". I followed up with "Is this a robot? do you feel like this was a fix? I'm confused can I talk to someone who has authority to delete a falsified review?". She then said sure let me put you on hold. I am now on hour 2 of being on hold I assume I have been left to dry. VRBO is not a user friendly platform nor host friendly. I will be avoiding it in the future.

Our booking was cancelled

I wish I had read the other reviews before booking with this company. We booked a villa for 9 of us in Crete and had confirmation that it had gone through. We then booked all our flights only to be e mailed the next day to say that the owner had booked it out already. Is there no process in place to stop this happening? We were stuck with 9 flights that we had paid for but nowhere to stay. Luckily I went onto another site and was able to get another villa. This could have been such an expensive loss for us. I will not touch Verbo again.

Just awful...really really awful

Atrocious customer service. There was an error on the email address that was put in at the time of booking. Very easy to address to got onto live chat.

This resulted in VRBO calling me several times at 0300 to update on the query, then live chat with 4 different agents, the most recent of which called Mica L who was the least helpful person I could have had the pleasure to interact with. They just did not grasp my very basic request to update the booking email address.

I am left frustrated, disappointed and not knowing if I have a booking. Will be going to AMEX ti raise a section 75 request for a refund and never using VRBO again.

Hosting assistance... FAIL

As a VRBO host in Australia of several properties, I am appalled at how little help they offer if ANYTHING goes wrong. Over the years I have had several unresolved issues. They just get lost in the system. Most recently, I have had issues with the local council wanting to disallow short term rental in my properties. VRBO (Stayz) have just washed their hands of the issue. No advice, no contingency plan, nothing. There isn't even someone I can talk to. Typically, they just don't want to know about anything that has gone wrong.

No host protection at all

No host protection at all. If your guest come and damage your property or lie to you about bringing a pet or number of people he comes with there is no way for the platform to step in and compesate you for damages. They do not have an insurance in place such as Host Guarantee that Airbnb offers and pay the compensation from their own pocket

He hecho una reserva hoy con confirmación y a la media hora me la han cancelado diciendo que había un error y que las fechas ya estaban reservadas. Y al rato sale otra vez el alojamiento pero al doble de precio y casualmente con las fechas disponibles. Vergonzoso. Unos sin vergüenzas

They have lost my deposit of £1497.20 and they can not find any evidence that I have booked a holiday. Because my husband died and paid with his card that is no longer open to me to find evidence. After months of phone calls and Emails nothing has happened. When you ring staff say they have referred it so they can not talk to me?????

Bokar ett boende och betalar. Några dagar senare får jag ett meddelande på franska, om att de inte vill hyra ut kortare än en vecka och ber mig avboka.

Nu är frågan om och när i så fall jag får tillbaks mina pengar.

AVOID!!! Zero customer support or security. I'm still waiting on £1400 refund 7 months later having been promised it by an awful host

**DO NOT BELIEVE THE PROPERTY REVIEWS ON VRBO**

We reported our issues (listed below) to the host in a polite but honest manner, he did nothing to rectify the issues and so we vacated two days later and made alternative arrangements (which cost us dearly).
The host was extremely rude, unprofessional, intimating and eventually resorted to blackmail.

Vrbo are in receipt of all of the conversations and photos supporting my claim, yet they have allowed this person to continue marketing on their platform and have not assisted me with the refund (I have the promise of refund in writing but 7 months later I'm still waiting to receive it).

We reserved a villa in Aug 2023 based on its great reviews. Upon check in the place was FILTHY! The bathroom had tiles missing (with sharp edges) and the taps only had a hot water feed and were positioned at child height (extremely dangerous for young children and we were travelling with a young child, declared at the time of booking).
A very old and dangerous gas heater was plugged in to a socket in lounge (again unsafe for young children). The gas hob had no igniter, you had to use a lighter.

The dirt was beyond: Bird excrement all over the outside cushions and table. Years of built up grime on every surface (mainly the hundreds of rank artificial plants and ceramic decor). The floors & internal windows were filthy.
The cleaning solution was a year out of date and stank.
Every lamp shade was dirty and broken.
I could go on. The place was tired, worn and dirty. They had left magazines on the coffee table, even these were YEARS out of date and were sticky with dirt.
The BBQ had fat and grime (we had to clean it before using it).

The host later admitted, in writing that the property had not been cleaned prior to our arrival!

We allowed two days for the issues to be sorted, they weren't so informed the host that we were vacating. I actually left the house cleaner than we found it (as I was not prepared for my family to live in filth for any amount of time).
The host' behavior was awful, he was rude and the whole thing was extremely upsetting and is STILL DRAGGING ON months later!

We were in Australia, I tried for 7 hours to get through to Vrbo. Every number i called they said they couldn't locate my booking, by reference, address surname, anything?!?! I ended up messaging Vrbo on FB and finally got a UK number to call. It cost me a fortune in phone calls. At their request I spent more time out of my holiday submitting the photos and emails, but when I retuned to the UK i had to start the claim again from scratch.

During this time the host emailed me to say he had an independent report commissioned and that it had actually highlighted more problems than I had reported (i dread to think) and as a result he offered a full refund of £1400. I am sadly still waiting for it.
I have provided Vrbo with everything and they have done nothing to assist. They simply said they "CANNOT FORCE A HOST TO GIVE A REFUND".

I proved that the landlord was trying to blackmail me into not leaving a review, they said "if you want your money back, do not leave a review".

Reviews on Vrbo simply cannot be trusted. I have submitted my review of the property on Vrbo and a pop up said something along these lines:
"Thank you, it can take up to 2 weeks to publish your review. IF successful the host will be given the chance to review you as a guest".
I feel Vrbo filter and manipulate reviews in their favor and offer zero support to the customer when things go wrong.

Essentially they left us stranded 11,000 miles away with a young child and we are now thousands of pounds out of pocket as a result.

We are regular worldwide travelers, I will NEVER book thorough Vrbo again and I share my experience in the hope to spare another family the same ordeal.

Unless you want your holiday ruined AVOID - AVOID - AVOID!!

EDIT: 08/02/24 - I posted a review on Vrbo 17/01/24. 3 weeks later on 1/02/24, they confirmed the review had gone live. Its now 8/02/24, they just emailed me to say they had removed my review claiming that it doesn't meet their guidelines??!! DO NOT BELIEVE VRBO REVIEWS they only allow the positive ones

BEWARE, DO NOT BOOK WITH VBRO

If I could have given VBRO -5 I would.
I booked an apartment in Rome months ago, and like so many others who have booked holiday rental accommodation through VBRO have found the owner cancelled the booking even though paid the full amount upfront.
The period I booked for was a popular date and expensive so that’s why I booked early.flights have been booked for 4 of us. Now I am finding trying to book alternative accommodation twice as expensive as when I booked and it seems the VBRO guarantee and customer service is less than worthless,
This was the first time I booked through this company and I will never use them again.
I will be sticking with Airbnb and Booking.com

VBRO …..Horrific, disappointing, unreliable .

Good at marketing, but no security for travellers

I have booked through VRBO several times, mainly because they had the best website. I had no problems with the first few bookings, so I hadn’t found out how they deal with any issues arising.
This year I have discovered that they cannot run the other side of their business: providing security for host/traveller transactions. I have had problems with payments and have had to chase hosts for access to the booked property. The last straw was a booking for just after Christmas. The host did not provide access information so, the day before we were due to check in, I had to contact VRBO. The person on the chat line contacted the host, who then told me that he needed to cancel our booking. He has sent a partial refund, with no explanation. I have tried chasing VRBO for a full refund, including the fees that I have been charged, but I can’t get any help there either.
In the past I have had a problem with one booking through Tripadvisor, and one through booking.com. In each case the platform acted swiftly to resolve the issue. VRBO just take the fees, and then provide no services to travellers.

Scam

First time using VRBO I planned my holidays for new years in TULUM, Mexico. I wrote the host to doublecheck if the room was actually available since I was hesitant being the first time using this platform. The host replied saying yes, it is available and welcome. So I booked the room. When I was meant to be arriving I had no checking info from the host, send him messages but no replies from him I contacted the help centre from VRBO and they gave me his number, I would call several times but no reply, I add the number to my whatsapp and it belong to a woman not to Jose Aguilar the host. I called the help centre of VRBO and I would be on hold for hours, Had to find a hotel because I was on the street literally, when VRBO finally picked up my call and I told my story they promised to book me in another hotel, meanwhile I started looking for VRBO reviews and saw many people having exactly the same issue that happened to me, so while in tears I asked the lady on the phone with me - am I going to receive an email saying you couldn`t find a room for us like I am reading from others reviews online? and she didn`t reply just said to wait for an email, and voila I received exactly that same email others were receiving, that they couldn`t find me a room and asking me to book a room only on their platforms because otherwise they would not be able to refund me? obviously I didn`t, so I had to stay in whatever we find available on the streets of Tulum Centre. It ruin the start of my new plans. Massive scam of platform, the host and everyone I spoke in the help centre and also on my calls.
