Nothing but a flying Mexican cartel

Volaris has truly invented a new low in both air travel and customer service. I had had a couple of okay experiences with them in the past, so I booked my ticket for my move to Mexico with them. Huge mistake.

I got an email from them 28 hours before my flight saying there was a problem with my reservation. Between 3 calls to their almost non-existent customer service, they finally told me that I couldn't bring my bike case because I had paid the wrong fare for it. So I told them fine, if you want me to pay you what you say is the correct fare for my bike case ($140) then you need to refund me for the $120 I already paid for it. No, of course they couldn't do that. So here I was, 28 hours before my flight - my stuff had all shipped to Mexico 3 days before, and I had no other way to get my $1500 customized racing bike and case to Mexico with me - so I had to cave in and pay it and another $100 charge for my bike case being overweight - they expected it to be 55lbs like a suitcase when it is twice as big and my bike with it's equipment and tools weighs 70lbs - totally unreasonable. So in total I ended up paying $360 for my bike to fly - more than my base ticket.

Apparently they also don't care much about the welfare of animals, because they refused to allow me to carry my cat on unless I sat in the window seat in the last row of the plane with the cat. I'm 6'-4" and I don't even fit in that seat by myself, so I was forced to fly him cargo. No problems on my first flight, but after I got into Mexico City and took him through customs, the lady at the counter refused to re-check his carrier unless I removed the litter, food and water from it. So I was forced to take my cat out of his carrier and remove everything right there at the counter. Their ground staff had put all of these zip ties on the carrier before the first flight, so I told her that I could't remove anything unless she could get the carrier open. So instead of getting a pair of scissors or anything sensible, she went and got a lighter and tried to use it to burn the plastic zip ties off the plastic carrier with the cat still inside of it.

The second flight was 2 hours late, so their app deleted my boarding pass because they were so late and I had trouble boarding. My poor cat had been without food and water for almost 9 hours once we finally landed and we had to use a pair of toenail clippers to free him from his carrier with great effort so that he could eat and drink again because they had put so much tape and so many zip ties on it. Further, because I suffer from chronic nervous system problems, I could barely even walk once we finally landed at 3:30am and I had to solicit help from the security staff at the airport because there were no luggage carts and no one on duty. Fortunately my husband was there to help and with my medication.

They sent me an email apologizing for the delay and offering me a $5 credit toward my next flight. They can take their $5 and shove it.

Their planes are also old and dirty like public transit - the seat back on my exit row seat was even broken on the first flight, but of course that didn't stop their obnoxious staff from harassing me multiple times at takeoff and landing - I had to demonstrate that it was broken 4 times!

I will never fly them again.

Difficult to pay for the ticket.

Difficult to pay for the ticket.
My UK bank wouldnt process the payment because the website isn't verified by VISA.
My mexican card (BBVA) was also rejected on the website.
I went to Citibanamex to pay in Cash, only to be told that it wasn't possible.
I then went to the airport ot pay in cash, to be told the price was now £100 higher than advertised.

I won't use Volaris again, as it seems impossible to actually pay for the ticket.

La peor compañía de México

La peor compañía de México. Después de pagar con tarjeta debito y habiéndonos cobrado, nos hacen sacar dinero en efectivo para pagar los asientos ya pagados. Ninguna solución por parte del personal, mal trato, desplante, ningún trabajador en atención al cliente, todos comiendo a la misma hora. Indignante.

They canceled my reservation because they had the flight overbooked. On another occasion when I flew with them the airplane was so old it looked like it was gonna fall apart. It’s not a good company.

Mejorar no creo que exista para esa mala empresa ya que no hay vergüenza van tres ocasiones que a la hora de abordar nos cobran el equipaje que por ley nos corresponde llevar el caso es que el último vuelo que tuvimos que abordar una de las empleadas de la malísima empresa nos obligó al pago del equipaje que llevamos y si no fuimos amenazandos con no poder abordar y no fue todo ya que el pago fue a un sobre precio y sin poder defender tu postura ya que se puso en el plan o pagas o no abordas sin ninguna consideración. Te venden los lugares para tu supuesta comodidad y ho sorpresa ya que esos lugares no representan la tan menciona comodidad hay que tener cuidado si vas a comprar uno de esos asientos ya que te llevaste una no grata sorpresa.
Es una empresa poco recomendable

si pudiera dejar 0 estrellas con gusto se las daria son unas RATAS solo saben robar dinero.
Tenia un vuelo que salia d charlotte a las 10 d la noche llegue a hacer el check in a las 8:30pm y ya habian cerrado el vuelo diciendo que el avion ya estaba abordando y habia sido cerrado no quisieron darme otro vuelo ni siquiera rembolsarme el dinero son unas ratas aprovechadas.
esta compañia es una verguenza para los mexicanos volaris es una porqueria.
Jamas vuelvo a comprar con volaris no la recomiendo para nada.

Pésima aerolínea, 0% recomendada

La verdad deberían de tener más consideración con el cliente, ya que no saben la afectación que generan al mover un horario. Este viaje está programado hace meses, contemplado vacaciones en el trabajo, niñera, hoteles, carro de renta, compromisos familiares programados con tiempo, etc. A demás de que en mostrador nos dicen una cosa y en atención al cliente ( en línea telefónica) dicen otra. No es la primera vez que tengo una mala experiencia con esta aerolínea. Mínimo viajamos 3 veces al año utilizando esta aerolínea, tengo 0% de probabilidad de que vuelta a usarla y de recomendarla.

Te dejan fuera si avisar , reservamos ,pagamos y al ir al check in con las maletas nos dicen que que nos cancelaron nuestros tickets, habia overbooking y te dejan tirado sin mas . Nos devolvieron el dinero ,menos 50 euros por la tasa de cambio No habia mas tickets .tuvimos que sacar en otra linea VIVA mas caro por ser los ultimos que habia , Pasa a las compañias de Nunca Jamas

Find another Airline!

This is airline is terrible. This is the 4th time my children have flown to Mexico to go see their dad since 2022 and each time it is a mess! They flew last year where check in baggage was $45 each. This time it was $70 a bag! Not to mention on the way back it was a whole different price. $84 dollars a bag. When I tried to add baggage to their flight home it wouldn't let me on the app, which is not the best btw. After receiving rude CS I was told that because the girls checked in (I had no idea they did this), I couldn't add a check in luggage and that they had to pay for it at the airport. They get to the airport and instead of it being $170 for two bags it was now more and came to $280 to check in two bags!!!
I am done with the overprice luggage fees with this airline. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Same on me, I guess. Definitely picking another airline the next time they go to Mexico. Volaris, you should be ashamed of yourself charging such a profound amount for checked in luggage!

Don’t do it. Worst experience

Went to Check in and They informed us they “over sold the plane” and told us we no longer had our seat available, that we PAID FOR. We had to get a one way southwest flight. DO NOT FLY WITH VOLARIS.

En Volaris son pesimos..

En Volaris son pesimos... la peor calidad de servicio y su sistema de ventas cada ves mas confuso y engañoso. Me la han han hecho en 2 ocaciones en menos de un mes. 1ra.- Me cambiaron mi asiento que yo seleccione para viajar junto con mi hijo sin razon ni previo aviso mientras el asiento estuvo desocupado... algo esupido. Y encima de todo nadie sabe nada ni te dan explicacion. 2da.- Mi hijo 16 años tenia que regresar solo de su vacacion en un vuelo por primera vez y le retrasaron su vuelo
[ Y4 1018 GDL -TJ MX ] por 6 horas (ellos dicen 5) y cuando llame a sus oficinas para pedir unaexplicacion sobre el retraso de cierto vuelo, la agente no estaba enterada siquiera de tal retraso del cual yo estaba mas enterado. En Volaris Son unos INEPTOS. Y luego me quieren compensarnos con creditos de vuelo cuando es conveniente para ellos no para mi... Espero desaparescan del negocio lo mas pronto posible ALV 'nches mañosos - Atte: YO mismo

Here we go again.

Here we go again.. on our flight back our buggy got damaged. Before handing it over to the airport staff on departure I folded the buggy as usual, I was shocked to see the state of it when it was given to me when we landed. The whole frame was crooked and the seat lock mechanism was upside down! That requires quite a lot of force.. this was our last flight with Volaris

Never ever use them!

Never ever use them. They changed the flight and didn’t update the online boarding pass info

Checked in less than 24 hours, got a boarding pass with the wrong flight time, no communication, they refuse to issue a voucher for a hotel

Flying cheap is not always a good deal

Flight guadalajara to tijuana be careful this company is a scam,they sold my tickets to someone else even l was there 28 minutes prior to departure,my check in start a 7:49 pm and the departure was a 8:32 pm l was there around 8:07pm and the gate was open and they told us that we were late even on the tickets show they will close the doors 15 prior departure,they are rude no manner and ass%@%,went finally we were able to talk to them around 8:35 pm they told our luggage was on the main bldg,they care less l ask talk to a supervisor and told me she was not available,they told me that l was late and l say to them to check the cameras to see what's really happening,they think they are beyond everybody, they think they are unteachables l will never use this nasty airlines again, they are not cheap at all,they reschedule for next day with layover,my first flight was direct and the new flight they send me to oaxaca and then to tijuana, what is funny they were 1hour late our arriving time was a 1:22pm and they landed at 2:45 pm they don't even apologize, this company is the worst airlines,they charge you for everything,they need to care a little bit for customer service,maybe they don't know what is customer service,but they know how to be on ass%@%@^

Cuidado Volaris por costos sorpresa!!

Cuidado con costos sorpresa!!! Me cobraron $600 pesos por qué mi maleta se pasó de dimensiones por 7 centros. Son una estafa. Cuidado por qué no se sabe con lo que más pueden sacar más dinero con sus políticas escondidas!!!!

Unacceptable Lack of Communication: Volaris Flight Cancellation

Volaris canceled my flight without any prior notice. Despite the deduction from my bank account, they insisted on rebooking at current rates due to a supposed card issue. When I requested confirmation, they flatly declined. This lack of transparency and professionalism is unacceptable. As someone who works in the industry, I find it appalling not to receive acknowledgment of what happened

Lied about refund on overbooked flight

Volaris overbooked our flight, creating chaos at the gate, leading to our bag accidentally being left at the gate. When we realized we had "boarded" they refused to let us grab our bag. They told us we could lose the bag (with laptop), or miss our flight. But that if we missed our flight, we could be refunded for it. We opted to forfeit the flight. Contacted Volaris for a refund, they wouldn't do it. In short: we were forced to get a hotel, rebook on flights the next day, all at our own expense, and never given a refund in spite of it being promised. The real sting is that, legally, they could have let us grab our bag the entire time, the staff was just uninformed. Maybe they're fine when the flights are not overbooked, but I wouldn't know—and until you show up for the flight, you won't know either.
