Lovely course, terrible customer service!!!

I decided to start the DJ course package as it looked interesting. This came as a number of courses which was great and inclusive of a number of rewards. The courses I did start were well presented. However, when I had an issue I tried consulting with customer services. The customer service representative was curt with their response and the reply was up to 48 hours. When you get a reply then you have to wait another 48 hours for a response again is not ideal. Before you know it a week has passed for two emails with a weekend in it. Then my email was misread and the course cancelled. Yes it would have been great to speak personally to Jamie etc. but escalation was not an option.

Further update (8/3/26): my complaint was referred to COO Jamie Hartley on 26/2/26 but no response received from that.

Discount structure + support tone put me off completely

I was ready to invest in the Complete DJ Package and reached out before Black Friday to ask if it would be discounted. Support told me this bundle was already at the “best price all year” and wouldn’t be part of the sale.

Then Black Friday came and there was a big discount on single courses – but no discount at all if you needed to pay in instalments on the bundle. When I asked why customers who can’t drop the full amount in one go don’t get the promotion, the answer was basically:
– the discounted price only applies to one-time payments
– instalments stay at the standard rate because of their processing costs
– and they “won’t be going back and forth” on it.

I understand business costs, but in practice this policy means:
– if you have enough money to pay upfront → you get the deal
– if you need a payment plan → you pay full price

For a company that says it wants to make learning more accessible, this feels completely backwards. The tone of the replies was already cold and dismissive rather than trying to find a solution or even just acknowledge the customer’s perspective.

What really confirmed my decision not to buy, though, was a follow-up email where support wrote:

“to be completely honest, it does not seem like you were in a position to purchase The Complete DJ Package at this time”

Instead of addressing the actual concern about how their discount structure impacts people who rely on instalments, they chose to make a personal assumption about my financial situation. I find that patronising and unprofessional.

I’m including this here so it’s publicly visible how support at Crossfader chooses to speak to potential customers who question their pricing. If anyone from higher support or management wants confirmation of this email exchange, they are welcome to contact me. I’m happy to share the full conversation so they can review it and hopefully bring their customer support tone more in line with what you’d expect from a top-level education company.

I decided not to buy anything and will take my money elsewhere. Leaving this here so other aspiring DJs who rely on instalment plans know what to expect before spending their time and energy emailing support.

I have recently started my journey to learn Djing and their course is really well made. It is also customized based on the equipment you have as well as your goals and genre of music! Super suggested!
