Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. While we are sorry to hear that you felt it necessary to leave a negative review, we would like to provide some additional context regarding how our service operates.

Weight Medics is a doctor-led service that provides consultations, clinical assessments, and where appropriate, the prescription and dispensing of medication following a full medical review. For patient safety and in line with UK prescribing regulations, all treatment requests are subject to a final clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber before any medication can be issued.

While our website includes an “Am I Eligible?” assessment to help guide patients, any medication selected at checkout is provisional and subject to medical approval following a full review of the patient’s medical information. As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, the final prescribing decision always rests with the clinician to ensure that any treatment is safe and clinically appropriate for the individual patient.

During your consultation with our prescriber and after checking your NHS Summary Care Record, your preferred medication was determined to be medically unsuitable and not safe for you to take. Therefore, an alternative medication was suggested; however, you decided not to proceed with the clinically appropriate and suggested line of treatment and requested a refund instead.

Regarding the payment and refund you referenced, our Terms and Conditions clearly state that all new patient assessments include a £25 consultation fee. This fee covers your video consultation with the clinician including the time taken reviewing your medical, lifestyle and social history and determining whether treatment is appropriate. If a patient is assessed as unsuitable for a particular treatment, or chooses not to proceed with an alternative clinically appropriate option recommended by the clinician, the £25 consultation fee remains payable in accordance with Clause 4.1 of our Terms and Conditions.

This means that when a patient places an order and is subsequently deemed medically unsuitable for treatment following clinical review, the medication cost is refunded, minus the consultation fee for the clinical assessment already carried out.

We also provide several opportunities for patients to seek clarification before making a purchase. Patients can choose to book a consultation-only appointment at checkout, and there are contact links provided alongside product descriptions should anyone wish to speak with our team prior to placing an order.

Our service operates in line with UK healthcare regulations. Weight Medics is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). All clinicians involved in patient care are registered with their respective UK regulatory bodies including the General Medical Council (GMC), General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), or Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). These safeguards are in place to ensure prescribing decisions are always made in the best interests of patient safety.

We understand that it can be disappointing when treatment is not clinically suitable, however patient safety must always come first in any regulated medical service.

Dear Christy,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with your experience, but as your concerns have been posted publicly, we feel it is important to ensure the correct version of events is reflected.

As you know, your Mounjaro pen was sent to you by our pharmacy on 20th November. Unfortunately, you were not able to accept the delivery on 21st November, and the item was subsequently returned to the pharmacy. You then informed us that you could not receive another delivery until Saturday 27th November, and we duly arranged for a replacement to be sent for delivery on that date. Unfortunately, this delivery was also not accepted.

It has also been brought to our attention that the manner in which you and your husband were conversing with our staff member fell outside our zero-tolerance policy. Our staff member politely asked you to refrain from speaking to her in that manner; otherwise, the call would need to be terminated. As the tone continued, the call was, rightly, ended.

Your number has not been blocked; however, communication will now take place in writing. As you are aware, our Managing Director has taken over your case, communicated with you twice this morning via email, and confirmed that a refund is currently being processed.

Our Managing Director will be processing your refund as explained in our email earlier. We wish you all the very best in your weight-loss endeavours with another provider.
