Not the company they once were
I first used 99 Bikes when they were Hargroves Bikes and it was a good experience. I used them last year for the 2nd time when they had changed to 99 Bikes. The bike arrived damaged. They credited me loyalty points for the damage as compensation. The original purchase loyalty points and these disappeared. A year later the points are added again but then disappear again so i still can't use the loyalty points. I am now losing out on a good quality Altura top, but i have just given up on the points. My third bike purchase has been a real disappointment. I get a 10% charge when using Cycle to Work so the 20% tax benefit is halved (i understand this may not be their fault but apparently i am supposed to know as it say's on their website (yes it does in a section it never occurred to me to look at as a shopper). They are only allowed to deliver to my address and not a neighbour so i have to take time off work to receive the bike. It's just messy and unpleasant using this company to purchase a bike from. I wish they had remained Hargroves ! This 3rd purchase will be my last. I suspect they will be glad not to have me as a customer any more.

Poor customer service
Poor customer service , focus is on maximising profits and have no intention of giving you the service most online sellers give. Bike came under spec from what was advertised and they tried to gaslight me it hadn’t. Set up of bike was amateur, brakes required bleeding, thru axle over torqued, cable routing was shockingly poor and rushed. No grease anywhere on the bike, bone dry on headset. Will not buy from them again.
Bo the heRo of Southampton.
Just want to rave about 'Bo' in my local (Totton) 99Bikes shop. Patiently answered all my Brompton questions. Visited Brompton Junction in London twice and the noise in there was so bad we all had to shout - got a headache. Bo suggested moving the brakes round a bit so my hands weren't straining to reach them - BIG thank you.xxxx
Excellent service
Excellent service today when we came in for our 6 week service and, prior to that, when we purchased the bike. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. My son loves that they are bikers themselves. Definitely worth the journey down from Basingstoke.

Excellent service from 99 bikes
I received excellent service from 99 bikes( Southampton branch), I had an out of warranty issue with a motor on a electric bike, they obtained a new motor from BOSH and fitted it as soon as it was delivered, very happy with the service I received.

Brilliant service and value.
Adam and Jordan, made it easy to make a purchase at 99 bikes and I live in Hertfordshire!,
They offered expertise, value, and a friendly fast service, discount and value with superb customer service came first.
If you want a bike go to 99bikes.. I ccant find fault.

Initially hesitant I ordered a Bergamont e MTB based on the solid positive reviews. And I didn't regret it. Communication was smooth, I was regularly updated on the delivery date. The bike arrived via TNT, on time and with most parts assembled. The price was very competitive. What I wasn't aware, that it came without paddles but wasn't a problem. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and the customer service.

Superb Service from start to finish
Superb Service from start to finish, Byron and the rest off the staff really took the time to make sure I had the right bike in the correct size, you can tell they are passionate about cycling and nothing was to mush trouble.

All round good supplier
I was really happy with the delivery speed, response time from the team when I asked a question and, most importantly, the quality of the bike. In other words, everything!
Will be back here in 4 years when my Son grows out of another bike!

Slow and intransparent
Worst e-commerce experience ever: they took about 1.5 weeks to dispatch the order though I called specifically to ensure the delivery happens before our move-out date. Then they delivered the bike to the wrong address and didn't include one of the bike lights that was in the order. Above all, they appear to be cheap but actually add the 10% hidden admin fee when you buy throught the Cycle2Work scheme which is written somewhere in the small print of course but not directly visible. I would recommend to avoid them at all cost

Bike arrived damaged but I let that slide as didn't want the lad dissopointed not receiving his Christmas present after failed deliveries countless times. To then break after 3 times riding it, to then be told warranty doesn't cover use of bike which puzzled me and told me bike has had a impact as a photo I sent shows paint chipped on bike which was caused by failing parts on bike breaking and derailleur hitting frame, as my lad had only riden it to school. Basically calling me a liar saying it hasn't been caused bye that when have only seen a photo. Then sent a link for a website to buy part which is out of stock and shouldn't have to pay for anyway as should be covered by warranty. Absolute joke off a bike shop would definitely not recommend and will not be using again
Great People
I did the admin for a colleague of mine to get a bike through Cyclescheme. I messaged 99 Bikes because I needed assistance and I got a reply back just a few minutes later. Phil was very helpful and efficient and nice, all was sorted 30 minutes later. Thank you for making the process so easy and quick.

The gentlemen that helped me do my cycle2work scheme online through email was a godsend, he made quick and simple. Order was organised within a couple emails. Bike took a while however Christmas time I ordered so I appreciate that and understand the bike is 👌.

Brilliant customer service, very accommodating and welcoming. Great knowledge and communication. Ordered 2 bikes for Christmas presents for my boys. Great bikes but as ever kids bust things quickly. Chris had things repaired and back in no time.
