I was not a direct client of these clowns but my buyer used them and in particular the negative review is of their solicitor Shoukat!!!!.
She constantly left the office leaving unfinished paperwork not allocated to anyone in her absence.
Took weeks not days to reply to questions.
My advice is to avoid this firm at all costs. This transaction took 4 weeks longer than it should have done due to her incompetence.
Im sure the guy that paid this firm for their circus act will also be leaving a negative review shortly.

I used Ashley James Solicitors for the sale of my property and I am very pleased with the outcome. I initially visited the Boldmere office to deliver my original documents and found Adrian Dooley very helpful. Adrian Dooley and Coey Lee handled my property sale and kept me informed throughout the process. I did phone the Boldmere office a couple of times over the course of the sale with my queries and always found the team very polite and helpful with answers. I definitely recommend this team based upon my personal experience.

Ashley James Solicitors were recommended to me by my estate agent and I instructed them for both the sale of my property and the purchase of my new property. What a mistake that was!!! My experience with this firm was extremely frustrating from start to finish and the service they provided me with was so poor the that even the estate agent had to chase them regarding my sale and purchase.

It was extremely difficult to speak directly with the solicitor handling my sale or purchase. If you want a solicitor who doesn't communicate, takes weeks to respond, and shows little care for their clients, then Ashley James are the solicitors for you.

The lack of information, the lack of urgency, and the lack of basic humanity throughout the process was appalling. The paralegal and receptionist were consistently rude, and an email instructing searches be commenced was totally disregarded and was only acknowledged a week later when I called and demanded to speak to the individual the email was addressed to (Simran Kaur) who whilst on the call looked through her email and when she had found it tried to blame the previous weeks Bank Holiday for the delay! I emailed a lengthy complaint to the Office Manager Adrian Dooley at this point and had no further dealings strangely with Simran Kaur.

Had to chase almost everything up myself as no one ever seemed to get back to me and when they did I felt I was no further forward and hadn’t had any of my questions answered, I had just been quoted “jargon” over the phone and at times felt barked at and almost a nuisance for chasing queries I had raised. I was constantly told in the beginning of the processes that the solicitors dealing with my sale and purchase (sale Adrian Dooley and purchase Indy Deu) were unavailable for me to speak to as they were not at their desks, this wasn’t once but every time I called, they never appeared to be in the office to take my calls. Adrian was the more polite of the two but at times Indy was short and I felt came across as rude and short. This may be their day job but they need to remember that there are real people who have entrusted them with the sale or purchase of a home and treat them as such.

But strangely enough as the sale and purchase were reaching completion both Adrian and Indy remarkably became available all of the time and attitudes changed dramatically.

I would never ever use these solicitors again and would not recommend them at all.

The solicitor was helpful, non judgmental and reliable. Quoted possible costs upfront.

Clear guidance from Ashley James's Team, always available to speak to when needed.

Smooth sale of my property within 2.5 months from accepting an offer.

You always hear how solicitors are slow, but Ashley James were brilliant from start to finish during the sale of my property. Coey Lee handled my case and was very efficient and quick with responses back to the buyer making the whole process efficient. Can’t thank the team enough for all their support during this time.

AJ Solicitors made both the selling of my property and buying of my new one property very easy. Amdad who was my solicitor was always there to help and advised us very well. I would highly recommend and if I did move again I would use them.

Nothing was too much trouble if I didn't understand something it was explained to me in a way I could understand. If I went to the office in Boldmere the staff there were very helpful.

My experience with this firm was extremely frustrating from start to finish. At the beginning, they were very polite and I agreed a fee of £1,700 with Debra. However, throughout the process, I was repeatedly passed to different people, and the fees kept increasing. In the end, I was charged over £2,400, despite the original agreed fee being £1,700.

It was also extremely difficult to speak directly with the solicitor handling my case. I found Sunny’s communication and attitude particularly disappointing. The price seemed to change repeatedly, and the process was unnecessarily delayed.

Even more concerning, my Stamp Duty was not dealt with correctly. After the case had been closed several months later, I contacted them and asked why the Stamp Duty had not been paid. They then realised the mistake and started contacting me repeatedly, day and night, asking me to pay the Stamp Duty.

My estate agent originally recommended this solicitor, but unfortunately the service was so poor that even the estate agent had to chase them regarding my case. The estate agent also apologised to me and told me they would no longer use or recommend this solicitor.

I would strongly advise anyone considering using this firm to make sure all fees are confirmed clearly in writing at the beginning and to carefully check everything throughout the process.

Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this firm.

This was our first house move in 30 years, and the stress caused by this firm has been unbelievable. If this is considered the normal standard, then I will never go through this process again. Moving house isn’t stressful Ashley James Irem and Rebecca make is incredibly stressful. Absolutely unacceptable service.

I have recently purchased my first home and was represented by Ashley James Solicitors. I cannot fault them at all, they kept in contact and gave me any updates that I needed. The whole process went as smoothly as I had wished for and I was in my home within 3 months. Amdad was absolutely great and responded to every question that I asked. Amanda was always supportive through my divorce, gave me good advice, was always ready to listen (not always about legal matters) and saw me through the process. Divorce is never an easy and is always emotional, but Amanda helped to cut through to the important things and reach logical, reasoned decisions.

From start to finish I had nothing but problems with these solicitors. Extremely rude when on the phone did not explain anything properly to me. I was kept up to date with my case I was able you come into office and talk about anything which was not clear. The staff were very helpful I would recommend this team to any one and use them again in the future
