My completely legitimate negative review was rejected for some dubious reason. The website is completely biased and useless.

I give avvo 1 star simply because they have a few lawyers on there list that have had there law license suspended like Justin Infurna you can easily look him up and find the illegal info on him and when i went to write a review about the lawyer warning people they wouldn't let me post the review and defended the lawyer even after I told them what he had done to me and others like me. Funny because his license has been suspended since December and your company wrote nothing on his profile about it at all. Which would have been info that wouldve saved me money. Nice try with that lie though. Now if I could I would give your company -2 stars.

OLD: Excellent help from Avvo with complex problem involving use of website badges and domain names.

NEW: Avvo was sold to a company that tries to build attorney websites and control attorney referrals. They disconnected domain name control for me. Its sad.....yet another amazing start up that is gobbled up by a large corporation and then milked dry of its value to users.

I left a review of a terrible DC/MD lawyer named Mary Paloger on the AVVO site. The review was submitted, approved and posted. Several days later, they took the post down citing that I didn't indicate that I had hired. I resubmitted the review and cited that I hired her and gave examples. Then declined saying that "Simply accused Mary Paloger of criminal activity or unethical behavior without providing factual details."

I wrote the following to their corporate office through the contact page...
"I have now submitted two reviews of Mary Paloger. The first was approved, then later denied when Mary complained. I sent another with your suggestions and edits - and then it was deemed "Simply accused Mary Paloger of criminal activity or unethical behavior without providing factual details." Since when did I have to become a lawyer to leave a review. Your site is misrepresenting the reason that this exist. If AVVO is simply going to function as "Linked-In" you should advertise as such or partner with them. I will leave another review later. However, if that is also denied after following your site rules... I will then take my complaints about Mary Paloger and AVVO to twitter, Reddit, and the web. Not a threat, just attempting to be more transparent than AVVO. Your choice."

Avvo is mostly a scam. I posted a question and got replies, but they decided to take my question down because I marked one of their lawyers as "Not helpful". They don't really care whether the lawyer would help you or not, all they care about is $$$. Stay away and don't hire anyone based on their fake reviews.

Max Factor law represented in my divorce case. At the begaining he was ok. After many months of paying Mr. Factor we went to mediation. After mediation I had $600.00 dollars remaining to pay my expenses from my State Retirement. I had worked 38 years for State of Florida. I am paying child support for a 29 year woman that gets a disability check an had large amount of money to my ex-wife. I had to dismiss Mr. Factor when could not get money transferred via QUDRO from my IRA. I paid Mr. Factor a lot of money an received poor representation going against opposing attorney. Future client are u next.

I wrote a professional non-emotional review on an attorney. Despite the fact that the first sentence of their instructions is to include details, they rejected the review for having details. They're in the business of Positive Reviews for fees from attorneys in my experience. If I'm wrong about this, they'll post my review(s), but thus far I can't get a review posted unless it is positive.

I am Maryland lawyer and had an advertising account for many years. It turned out to be a waste of money. I quit the advertising March16th of 2020 and found that call traffic was unaffected by the advertising. It save me $3,00 per month or $36,000.

I asked a question, got really helpful answers and spoke personally with a lawyer who further helped me. I couldn't get one lawyer in my town to talk to me to answer some questions. Literally!
In one day the laywer I spoke to on Avvo answered all my questions accurately. Wonderful experience and trustworthy.

I gave a poor rating to an attorney on AVVO with an explanation of why she deserved a bad rating. The review was anonymous and avvo initially published it. But then the attorney disputed the review, although she allegedly did not know who wrote it. AVVO removed it and sent me an email. Apparently, this attorney advertises on avvo, so only good reviews are allowed for her. AVVO reviews of attorneys cannot be trusted.

Kat from customer service fixed my issue in like 30 seconds. My name was not listed correctly on the Avvo site (which is a big deal for an attorney) and I thought I'd have to go through a whole administrative hoopla to get it fixed. I explained to her via chat and she just fixed it. Thank you!

I asked a question but received a condescending opinion and rudeness, never got an answer to the question. Then Dorothea Elaine Laster flagged my question because I didn't find her answer helpful. Very unprofessional.

I asked a question and it was never even addressed, just emails to try to get me to contact a lawyer in my area. It's just a bait-and-switch scam to drum up business without helping a consumer. I'd give zero stars if that were possible.

When going through my divorce and custody trial, the family court assigned a children’s attorney Dianne Braun Hanley. She was dishonest and biased from the beginning. My lawyer said she’s never seen such blatant bias. She saw the children once when their mother brought them to her office but refused to see them with me. It took weeks of back and forth and cost me over thousand dollars in legal fees to arrange that visit. The children (7 and 10 years old), told her that they want to be with each parent half the time and Dianne Hanley proceeded to tell the judge that the children asked to be with the mother. When I told the children that the judge’s decision was based and what the attorney for the children said, they screamed “SHE IS A LIAR!”. In addition, Dianne Hanley did zero investigation into this matter (she is supposed to do it according to the NYS Ethics for Attorneys for Children document) stating that “I am not a forensic investigator”. Again, the bias was so obvious that my lawyer with 25 years of experience could not believe what was happening. After that, I tried adding a review on Avvo and it was not approved since she was not retained by me (technically yes it was for my children who were 7 and 10 at the time). Do you expect the children at that age to write a review on Avvo themselves? What a shame that Dianne Hanley gets off the hook and continues to practice with a bias lying “on behalf of children”

AVVO is full of attorneys that literally have no clue as to what they are talking about and their response to alot of peoples messages are very rude and condescending. The unprofessional verbiage and the incompetent responses leads me to believe alot of those attorneys can't be real attorneys or its real easy to become a lawyer, considering their level of intelligence to the questions that are being asked.

Attorney Donna Cantor cheated on me. Not only she arranged the court to delay the case so she could collect more money, she also flipped the case to harm us. She is dishonest, unethical, and evil. Someone please stop her. From her reviews on other forums, it looks like that I am not her only victim. Avvo didn’t approve my review. They help a scammer to victimize more people. Do not trust Avvo review. Unless you write a good or slightly negative review , they will not approve it. They don’t want you

Bad experience. They will not post my review of a dishonest attorney named Kelly Rauch. I have written over ten reviews and they still will not post it and they give vague reasons/excuses why. Don’t trust AVVO!
