Inexperienced staff, poor service

Modern clean rooms. I could not fault the housekeeping of my room. Each day it was spotless and immaculate.

Breakfast was average for continental. Staff always seem disorganised and trying their best to be friendly. Sadly bacon and scrambled eggs were cold, at 6am daily. Reasonable choice otherwise but room for improvement.

I didnt eat in the restaurant in the evenings. I couldn't comment on the evening menu.

Biggest most notable issue is the staff. Inexperienced, untrained, lack of customer care. Alarmingly not alert and ignore customers. I waited to check in while the receptionist ignored me and checked in 3 gentlemen behind me. When I made a soft joke about it, the receptionist shrugged her shoulders, no emotion, explanation, apology or human interaction. Needs a reminder she works in hospitality.

The bar, big sigh!! A number of staff need a big prompt to serve customers, its concerning than during quiet periods the staff don't pay attention. On one occasion I made a hand numerical hand signal and pointed to the beers I wanted to order. The bar maid looked blank and wandered off to serve someone else. I waited another five minutes, she had her back to me, being the obly person at the bar. I tried twice to catch her eye. She wandered off to the kitchen. The staff need louder vocal prompts to capture their attention. Its frustrating and poor.

On finally catching her attention she seemed bemused she spoke with me earlier; couldn't remember 5 minutes earlier.

Other customers were left waiting unattended, bar staff back to clients, oblivious. Rarely turning around. Bad for custome and business.

In a hospitality its a big NO NO to ignore customers or not check on who wants served. Lack of concern or wish to improve.

Other than the upkeep of the rooms the staff need to refocus on a client driven culture. Try harder!!

Slecht!!

Slecht!!
1 grote bouwput met hoop lawaai
Begint om 7 uur s'morgens al met heipalen die de grond worden in gestampt!
Wordt niet vermeld op de website!!
Manager maakt zich eraf vanaf door je een met je klacht naar het hoofdkantoor te sturen door een kaartje af te laten geven en daar heen te mailen
Gedaan tot op heden nog niet 1 reactie terug!! Zo slecht!!
Ze laat zich niet eens zien want ze was er
zat van denk ik want er waren meer klachten
Was er voor mijn verjaardag waardeloos dus
Bedankt Bastion Vlaardingen!! Dikke vette 0!!

Worst service I've experienced

Was on a worktrip with 3 colleagues.
1. Day we wen't to the restaurant, and ordered some food. After 10 min the first course arrived. After 5 minutes, we asked the waiter, if it was possible that we all could eat togeher. Her answer was. That is not allowed, probably a joke. 5 minutes after came the second course. again we talked to the waiter, and she offered us a free drink because of this. 10 minutes after, the last 2 courses was served. It gets better. 5 minutes after the last courses was served, the sidedish for the 2 first courses arrived, and they where done eating.
The end of the story is. When we checked out, all of us, got a wrong invoice. all of us was charged for the free drink we were offered, 3 of us was also charged for bears, they don't even drink bears.
all in all, super bad experience.

Fijne ontvangst

Fijne ontvangst, lekker bed en heerlijk schone kamer.

Een schone kamer

Een schone kamer, een goed bed,koffie en thee faciliteiten op de kamer, een goede douche en vriendelijk personeel. Meer heb je toch niet nodig voor een prima overnachting

Slechte ramen en kk fohn

De ramen gingen niet goed dicht waardoor er allemaal beestjes en wind naar binnenkwam.
- we hadden een kamer op 8 hoog met dubbel glas wat gewoon open kon ik wilde zelfmoord plegen maar deed het net niet. En de fohn ging een half uur niet uit…

Het hotel is aangenaam receptionist was vriendelijk
de kamer was netjes en schoon
ik zal er regelmatig naar terug keren.
Alleen 1 minpunt de draaideur bij de ingang draait erg snel en de uitgang daar ligt de bestrating erg laag met het risico dat er snel iemand kan vallen. ik denk dat de bestrating dient te worden aangepast vooral voor ouderen erg gevaarlijk

Eigenlijk was er weinig mis met het…

Eigenlijk was er weinig mis met het bastion hotel in Vlaardingen en had ik gezien de prijs kwaliteit best 5 sterren kunnen geven. Maar… aangezien ik in rolstoel zit denk ik dat het helpend is als ik deze review schrijf.

Bij aankomst met de auto wilde ik gebruik maken van de invalide parkeerplek. Onmogelijk was het om hierin te parkeren door de uitstekende plantenbak en de draaideur zo kort voor deze plek. Na het parkeren een paar plekken verderop was de draaideur die toegang geeft tot de receptie van het hotel minimaal qua grootte om met mijn rolstoel doorheen te gaan, ook de oprit was te steil dus mijn rolstoel kiepte en ik viel achterover. Gelukkig is het goed afgelopen en werd ik opgevangen door een andere gast die toevallig achter me stond.

Toen de medewerker de deur ernaast van het slot haalde om daardoorheen toegang te verlenen was de straat voor de deur zo erg verzakt dat ik heel schuin en de grote drempel maar met moeite kon nemen om binnen te komen. Het zou fijn zijn om voor de minder valide mensen iets meer aandacht te schenken qua toegang en parkeren.

Verder schoon vriendelijk, dikke prima!

Prima hotel

Prima hotel, makkelijk te bereiken ondanks de wegwerkzaamheden en verbouwingen in de buurt.
Goed ontbijt, ruime keuze en lekker vers.
Voldoende parkeergelegenheden.

Vriendelijke ontvangst, ruime parkeergelegenheid, prima kamer, fijne badkamer. Vijf minuten lopen naar de halte van de sneltram naar Rotterdam en Hoek van Holland.
