From the initial consultation with Laura Boyle and Anya French through to the final documents, everything was handled with professionalism, clarity, and genuine care.
They both took the time to explain all the options, making what could have been a complicated process feel straightforward and stress-free. We felt listened to throughout, and they were very patient in answering all of our questions.

Who knew Will writing could be so straight forward
We chose Bennett Oakley because they were taking part in the St Peter and St James Hospice Will writing scheme. Laura and her team were kind, patient and thorough. It made writing our Wills so straight forward, we wondered why we had put it off for so long and the hospice benefitted too. The whole process only took a couple of weeks to complete. We would definitely use this company again.

Frustrating & disappointing
I found the handling of our late grandparents’ estate to be highly unprofessional. Dealing with Laura Broyle was somewhat frustrating.
Basic standards of communication were often lacking—some emails did not even include a simple greeting such as “Dear” or “Good afternoon.”
Basic estate of probate took 9 months!
There was a clear inconsistency in the quality of correspondence, with several emails falling well below what one would reasonably expect from a solicitor. Responses were frequently delayed, sometimes taking days, and in some cases, we received no reply at all. This lack of communication made the process unnecessarily frustrating and stressful, to the point where I had to follow up by phone due to being ignored.
Overall, the service we received was unsatisfactory, and I would not recommend this company based on our experience.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - all the following dates are correct and confirmed with our file. We are sorry to read that you were dissatisfied with your experience and that the probate process felt frustrating.
For clarity, and to ensure the public record is accurate, probate matters are dependent on several external factors, including HM Courts & Tribunals Service and third party institutions. In this case, we were instructed in March, submitted the probate application in early April, and the Grant of Probate was issued at the end of July. Once received, the estate funds were collected and distributed promptly once approval was given.
We take standards of communication very seriously and are concerned to hear that you felt these fell short of expectations. This is not reflective of the service we aim to provide, and we would have welcomed the opportunity to address any concerns at the time.

Completed, but poor cost transparency at the end
The process was completed successfully and I appreciate the support in getting to completion. However, the final costs came as a significant surprise and were not clearly communicated in advance. This created unnecessary stress close to completion. Better transparency throughout the process would have made a big difference.

Our usual practice is to set out anticipated costs clearly at the outset of a matter, including within the initial quote, the client care letter, and the information provided at the start. Where there are any material changes to fees beyond what has been explained from the outset, these should be communicated as the matter progresses so that clients are kept informed.

I strongly recommend against this firm..
The firm neglected my case entirely until I started emailing, they had many hidden fees and the lawyer chose to go on a long holiday 2 weeks before Christmas leave without anyone else to pick up the case on her behalf.
