Margot loved the swimming lesson Christina was fantastic with Margot . Margot learnt alot in the small amount of time she had the lesson for .

Initially on joining as a new member…
Initially on joining as a new member the staff weren’t over helpful on explaining everything including possibility of an induction around the gym and more bothered about taking my money. It wasn’t until I went on my second visit that Laura behind reception explained everything and was very nice.However my wife who joined at the same time and I am her carer found the atmosphere and setup of the gym not good and we will be cancelling our direct debits after our current months membership runs out.

Initial thoughts on gym
The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Monthly off peak rate is not too bad but facilities need updating as many things are quite old especially the resistance machines. I know some new machines are being added so this might help. The shower rooms also need modernization. I have off peak use but I would imagine that the gym room and shower room would struggle to accommodate people at peak times and therefore I suggest enlarging these rooms. To be honest there is a lack of decent gyms in West Cornwall (and close to my home in St Erth) which is why I chose St Ives since choice is limited. I would be prepared to pay much more for a better quality gym nearby.
