Peak time but only one scanner operating
Peak time yesterday, with many departing flights and the security line had one scanner operating. The queue was overflowing. Luckily, a Ryanair operative came and got us passengers for the next flight and ushered us through security and even told the people swabbing EVERY passenger (not just those who set off the alarm) to let us through. The system there is a joke and needs much professional improvement.
Very good experience at Bournemouth…
Very good experience at Bournemouth airport from 07/07/26 to 17/07/26. We pre-booked the car park 2 so was easy and simple on arrival. Lots of space and easy to navigate. Check in was very quick and all staff very friendly and helpful. Security was quick and again very good service. The airport is small but we liked this as everything was on time. Can feel a bit crowded as it gets busy but there is outdoor area, really pleased with this! Only a cafe and WHSmith could do with another shop like boots or something but we don’t shop at airports only small snacks for the flight so not bothered. Duty free is small. On arrival back home car was as I left it and no concerns. Very easy to navigate your way round and really pleased with our experience.

Very efficient and you're allowed to travel out with liquids up to 2000ml BUT other airports such as Corfu will make you throw away any toileteries, sealed bottles of liquor and water even honey!
Bourne and Acre Bar and Kitchen a…
Bourne and Acre Bar and Kitchen a complete disaster. The steak and ale pie was burnt, completely BLACK lid. Peas and mash basically child portion. My wife ordered the chicken and bacon cesar salad. It arrived without the bacon. Took it back and never returned. Had to chase and it came back after 20 mins with bacon and the chicken was now cold. Also noticed there was no Parmesan on it. “Oh I’ll go and get some”…. came back after another 5 minutes and said they’d run out. Parmesan is one of the MAIN ingredients. No offer to do anything. With drinks nearly £50 down the drain. EAT BEFORE YOU COME, this place is an utter shambles.
Poor service at Bourn & Acre
We like the parking and efficiency of the airport. But let down by the poor service in the bourne &acre every empty table needed clearing. Ordered food and coffee from the app the food turned up at the table with no cutlery. The coffee did not. had to go to the bar they said it was on its way but never came had to speak to two more members of the team then after 25 mins it arrived in paper cups. No excuses for poor service!
£8 for less than 5 minutes in the car…
£8 for less than 5 minutes in the car park are they taken the piss. I would love to know how they can justify the charges for parking.
Ridiculous drop off charge, poor service
Ridiculous drop off charge - £8, when there is no viable alternative. Lack of staff at bag drop, queues for security, and grumpy, unhelpful teenage staff in the bar!
Taxi scam …
Just want to warn people of Taxi scam !! If you land after midnight there is no shuttle back to Parley Lane car park . We had the experience of this , as we walked out the airport was immediately hustled to a taxi driver by one of the staff . on getting to car park ,a trip of half a mile, we were charged £ 24 for the pleasure !!! The average price should be £12-14 . They may working together and pocketing the difference!! So beware of this !
I ate at the bourne and ache restaurant…
I ate at the bourne and ache restaurant at bournemouth airport. I am a coeliac and have a food allergy to gluten. I ordered a gluten free breakfast.
When the breakfast arrived it had 2 gluten free stickers on it. It also contained a sausage and toasted bread.
Neither of these items are gluten free and if i ate them i would be very ill. I questionned the weighter about the toast and sausage. He was unsure then agreed that obviously these were not gluten free. I explainex that he could nit just remove the toast and sausage as rest of the food would be contaminated with gluten. He said he would get me a new breakfast. It arrived 4 mins later, i checked for bread crums etc but could not see any. I ate the breakfast. On arriving in Spain airport i had to rush to the toilet, had diarrohea a sign of eating gluten. Note i had not eaten anyother food. On arrival at hotel symptoms continued, very ill with diarrohea and violent stomach cramps. This has ruined the first day of my holiday, feel terible. Do not eat at this restaurent if you have allergies.
Bone shaking road/path
I don’t mind the airport raising their parking fees, I support this small south of England airport and happy to pay the increase, what lets the site down though is I see zero improvement in the facilities to warrant the price increase. Having arrived back from my holiday today i found that i, like everyone else around me had to carry my heavy cases to the car waiting for me which was some distance from the footpath due to limited parking spaces, the concrete footpaths and road have perished so badly with age that it’s now effectively impossible to wheel a suitcase upon it.
Poor by the airport to increase the cost and make no updates to warrant it, to lay new tarmac there would be a relatively inexpensive upgrade that would make carting heavy suitcases too and from the terminals that much easier
IBournemouth Airport . Difficult to get to and from
I use Bournemouth Airport several times a year and have done since it opened. It's handy as I can get to and from Girona easily now. However, there are some things they need to improve that just irritate passengers.
1. They dissuade passengers from walking from the junction to the airport and also making it hard to pick up or leave passengers across the road at the junction. The 5 pound fee for dropping someone off is stupid. They've finally put a pavement to be able to walk in. 2
There is only one bus with 3 journeys early in the morning and 3 after midday. I caught one, and it was great, but not having at least a bus an hour to coincide with flights is inconvenient. 3. They've taken away car hire. More inconvenience. 4. The entrance to the security control is not well signposted and the 1st time is confusing. 5. There's no aircon. So on a hot day it's uncomfortable. 6. Qs are long getting past passport control . More border staff are required. And as of June 2026 there are no automatic passport barriers. 7. The arrivals terminal is still really a prefab building. 8. The food is expensive, so eat before arriving, but it's the same as in any airport really. So, lots of areas to improve.

This evening I had to pick up family from Bournemouth airport and can only describe the charge of 30 minutes to park at £8 as scandalous, outrageous, absolute rip off typical of what's going wrong in this country being ripped off everyday ...come Bournemouth airport sort yourself out!!
Absolutely staggering drop off fee
Absolutely staggering drop off fee. I took my mum in and helped her check in. I came to pay parking, for 35 minute stop, and its was £15 !! Vote with your feet. Dont use Bournemouth airport, the fees are ridiculous.
The seating area was ridiculously cold
The seating area was ridiculously cold. I tried to get something done about it and was told that there was no duty manager to speak to and it was down to the engineers who don’t work on a Sunday. Not very good when you have to sit for 2 1/2 - 3 hours before your flight. None of the TVs worked in the seating area either. Everybody where we were sitting were wearing coats. Not a comfortable experience.
Car Park Not fit for purpose. Exorbitant Charges.
This review is about the Car Park only.
Bournemouth Airport Car Park 1 is not properly paved for passengers to enable them to easily walk from their car to the airport building and back. Also, there is no properly marked or sign-posted route from the car park to the airport buildings or vice versa. Additionally, the route on which passengers are forced to walk is for the most part the road used by vehicles which must constitute a safety risk. The road is largely rough asphalt and is difficult to walk along while pushing a trolley or pulling wheeled luggage. There is also no cover from inclement weather for passengers on foot. Furthermore, the actual car park stands' surface is of loose largish stones (not gravel), which could cause tyre puncture or other damage to a vehicle. In respect of prices, these are exorbitant. I parked at Car Park 1 for a week at a cost of £141.00, added to which, in my case, there was a £30 surcharge due to late arrival of the return flight and additional delays at Arrivals which were entirely outside of my control. The total delay was just over 2 hours.
In summary, very poor facilities offered to captive customers who have no choice but to use overpriced and sub-standard carparking facilities with unreasonable exploitation for delays.

I really like the arrangement of the new new airport area for arrivals. All the staff were really friendly and it was super easy to get through customs and security.

Old & out of touch staff with no patience for anybody. Angry, moody and not helpful in anyway. There are never 2 luggage scanners open when going through luggage checks meaning the staff struggle to cope with numbers and show how they can’t deal with the public. Then on top of that you’re charged £17.99 for a cold, minging cooked breakfast. Unfortunately this airport, despite getting more flights and more custom, is worse than ever.

Haven't got their yet and I am already very unhappy. Wanted to go by Public Transport, found out the Bus from the Station only goes in the week and then hardly at all! Now have the hassle of driving AND paying for parking. You don't get this issues in Europe. Next time I will be using Gatwick, parking is cheaper and the drive is shorter. Appalling there is no public transport.
Needs a rethink doesnt work
The fact that it costs £6 yo be dropped of is bad enough but when you arrive to check in you can’t use the fast track (which you have to pay for) which is in the building ,no no no they send you on a walk about in the open air so you get wet when it rains, you go round in a circle to arrive at exactly the same place as you were at the fast track!! How utterly ridiculous and totally money pinching. The airport is a complete disaster won’t be travelling with them again
