Not sure why people are complaining about slow orders. I got my one packet of seeds in just under two weeks, and only paid $10+ postage and handling for the 2 oz package.
Love the selection and variety offered but your website search needs improving. Took me twice as long to find what I wanted. It's difficult finding specific items with the current filters and I real... Ver mais

Have ordered from a few online plant suppliers., This year I tried ordering three varieties of plants and one root from Burpee. The root was discount store quality, no crown and no growth. Of the three plant varieties I received 6 of two,varieties with one variety not as yet delivered. Of the 6 plants received two were dead on arrival, one was too small and never survived planting and two,had black leaf edges and rotting leaves. All, six had pitiful roots. Only one survived and it is in ICU. Customer service was, poor and slow. They sent a replacement which also was DOA. Their packaging is atrocious. Spent $160 for nothing. I am now leary of all online plant nurseries.
I have bought burpee seeds for years and lately the quality of all their products have fallen off the cliff! I bought a burpee seed starter kit and the top does not fit at all. I will never buy anything else with burpee's name on it. I mean Never! If you are serious about your garden, stay away from this company! They are horrible. My family and I buy a lot of seeds but they will never see another dollar of any of our money again!
I agree with others that they have super slow shipping times. I had a horrible experience with their customer service. They do not actually stand behind their products and extremely poor inconsistent messages from their team and mistakes with customer service processing. I will not order from this company again. Buyer beware!
They charged me twice for the same order and then shipped it twice. When I called to resolve the issue they refused to issue a refund unless I paid to return the duplicate order that they mistakenly sent. I told them to look at the "My Account" page under "Recent Orders," and they'd see that there was only one order. After trying to explain, I finally just hung up the phone and disputed the charge. Scammers.

Burpee indicated in an email to me that my order was going to ship and that tracking information would be provided. When I tried to access the information on their email to me by typing in my email, they indicated I would receive an email verification. Tracking information never came. Today, my order arrived by UPS and I still never received tracking information or a notice that it was delivered.
This reviewer would definitely give Stark Bros a shot before returning to Burpee.
Burpee used to be the gold standard for seeds, plants and gardening supplies. Sadly that is no longer the case. There seems to be no actual company any longer as they obviously have no competent system in place to properly fill customer orders. I placed an order for bare root strawberries on 03/10/26 and according to their shipping schedule my zone had been open for shipping since 02/18/26. Typically with any reputable company within a day or two you receive at the minimun an estimated ship date but this is not the case with Burpee. On 03/12/26 I inquired when the items would be shipped and was told the items were in shipment processing and that I would receive shipping info soon. After still receiving no updates on estimated shipping I contacted them again via their website on 03/16/26 and told them I wished to cancel the order as it was taking too long for them to ship. I received a reply from them this morning again stating that the order was in shipping and it was too late to cancel the order and that I would receive shipping info soon. They told me that I could refuse the order and have it returned to them for a refund. I will certainly be returning the order if it ever does arrive. My advice to anyone considering ordering form Burpee is to please read the online reviews for this company. I wish I had done so before I placed the order. I am really surprised that they are still in business.
Because very few of my moon flower seeds did not germinate, I asked the Canadian company to send me a replacement package and I was told no because they are US based!
Very slow shipping. I placed my order on January 21. Burpee didn't give it to the post office until January 27. They estimate it will arrive at my house on February 2.
I bought 2 packs of Burpee Early girl tomato seeds in the spring of 2025. I have grown plants from Burpee seeds for nearly 40 years. When it was time to transplant my tomato plants into the garden I thought they looked a little different. When they started setting fruit I noticed that all of my tomato plants were not the normal 4-6 ounce Early girl slicing tomato. They were all very small 1/4 ounce grape tomato plants. I called Burpee when I noticed all my plants were grape tomatoes from 2 of their Early girl seed packs. They said they would refund my money I paid for them, with a receipt. I bought the seeds at Walmart, I paid cash and did not save the receipt. The time and money I spent on seeds, seed starting trays, potting soil, and fertilizer to end up with 2 dozen grape tomatoes upset me. I decided to not rely on seed companies anymore and bought heirloom tomatoes this year. I will never buy seeds from Burpee again! Be careful, you might not be growing the fruit or vegetables that are stated on the front of the packet of seeds.
ordered Garlic when received garlic bulbs were the size of golf balls. Requested a redo and received even smaller bulbs. no way to speak to anyone other than the call center. never again will I order from Burpee
Burpee used to be a reliable seed company, not anymore the green bean seed I ordered were supposed to be stringless bush beans, what I got was a mix of several bean types to include pole beans and heavy strings on the beams. If that was the only issue could live with that, but had to plant and replant the seed 3 times and they are still spotty. Many other seeds ordered did not grow, I'm done with Burpee.
I ordered some pink sunflower seeds which I wanted specifically to match purple petunias I had. The sunflowers turned out to be yellow.
Both the rosemary and chives failed to grow. Waste of money. Never buy these seeds again.
Received two very tiny, wilted, unhappy plants. Also, they were only 4" by 4" that is not a bush that is a started twig no wonder they do not have size description of what is being shipped.
Price way too high for what you get.
Sad seedlings that don't even hold themselves up, not hardened off. Everything in the package covered in mud. Was shipped 2 wks later than stated.
Could have bought local for a fraction of the cost and plants at least 4-5 bigger. So upset!

Very disappointed with all of the tomato plants we received this year, and was surprised that Burpee did not approve refund/replacement for the 3 that were severely damaged with stems broken off (picture sent). My husband is disabled, and it used to be convenient getting the plants shipped. They claim "100% satisfaction guaranteed" on their website. NOT TRUE! We will not be ordering from them again!
The three plants I got in their bundle for $25 was a joke. Pitiful looking plants.
$7.50 a pc. The plants from local growers were twice the size for much less. Burpee seed are good, but I learned my lesson on their plants. 👎👎
