The GE cafe fridge looks nice...

The GE cafe fridge looks nice.... but that is where it ends. For the price tag of this unit, you would expect the fridge to last more than (5) years. We have had nothing but issues with ours. To the point where we even contacted GE. They do not stand by their product, as they essentially told us there was nothing they could do. I for one will never purchase this product or brand again. Terrible product, and GE as a whole does not stand by their products. Two absolute necessities for me. I have had good experiences with other manufacturers, but not GE.....

Do Not Buy GE Cafe

I have owned the Cafe electric range for 3 years. The electric range has already failed. The cooktop does not work. It needs a new range switch assembly. This part costs $600 and then there is $250 in labor to replace so $850 to fix the cooktop. I paid $3,000 for the range and I feel scammed. The part needed to be replaced is a part used in all of their GE products. The insides of the GE range are no different than their low end products. Of course, the range is out of warranty so I have no recourse with GE. Save yourself some money and don’t buy the Cafe line. You are not spending more to get better quality.

Dont purchase these units

Dont purchase these units. I've had my cafe dishwasher failing it's mother board after 3 years. GE covered parts only (after I had to fight since they wanted to pay only 50% of retail price - so basically paying nothing) so after more than 500$ I had my dishwasher back again (and washing is not good). Now my Cafe oven is not able to cook simple fries as humidity is impacting the control panel and oven is going nuts. GE wants me to pay for a technician and then they might be able to help (agin parts only). So they dont stand by their product at all

Don't buy GE Cafe appliances

Today is one of the happiest days of my life. It is the day that I get to rip out my GE Café Dishwasher and replace it with a product that surprisingly enough actually cleans dishes. I have been the owner of many appliances over the years, and this one takes the cake (and leaves all the cake on the plate after a “wash”), for the worst appliance that I have ever owned. Your idea of customer support is to trouble shoot by recommending expensive repairs and parts for a new product that should have been working when we bought it. Here’s an idea, produce a good product and then stand behind it. My life will be so happy when I can take a hammer to your dishwasher and not have to be frustrated by what appears to be dirtier dishes in the morning than when it was loaded the night before. Your dishwasher stinks and I will never buy one of your appliances again.

Customizing Cafe Appliances is not what it seems.

Cafe’ advertises the ability to customize your kitchen appliances with several different color options on handles and knobs, here is what you need to know. Each appliance comes with a “standard” colored handle and knob, such as stainless steel comes with brushed stainless handles and knobs. If you want Brushed Black (one of the advertised options) handles and knobs you have to order and purchase the custom set. We purchased 4 appliances (refrigerator,range,microwave,dishwasher). The set was stainless so they came with brushed stainless handles, we wanted brushed black and though we could just order it that way, nope, had to purchase the brushed black handle sets for each appliance at a total cost of $1600.00. Now we have 2 sets of handles one of which we will never use. Quite the rip off by Cafe’. Had we not been down the rabbit hole on this kitchen remodel we would have never bought Cafe’. Keep this in mind.

Cafe microwave lasted only two years

We purchased a top of the line signature model Cafe microwave (2.1cu.ft). Worked very well for 2 years and 1 month. I suspect it is a motherboard issue. Stopped at the dealership in Greenwood SC. where we purchased it. They could not send out a technician for one week and one day. Ok fine. No biggie. We cut a vacation one day short to be home for the scheduled tech visit. Tech never showed up. We called the appliance store and were told that the tech "was there a day earlier and no one was home. He tried to reach you by phone but got voice mail" They said he could not come for another week since WE missed his visit ! Was told it was OUR fault for not being home a day before his scheduled visit. Stay away from the Greenwood SC. Cafe store if you want good service.

Cafe Platinum Glass range causes brand…

Cafe Platinum Glass range causes brand new home to catch fire. Grease got under pan, under burner plate then got so hot it started our home aflame. GE offered $200 mail in rebate. Please heed the review and know that they don’t care if you spend $10,000 or $2 on an appliance package. They will tell you to pound sand no matter what. Looking for takers on a class action lawsuit on the cafe regret support Club on Facebook.

They promised to deliver to our house…

They promised to deliver to our house and install. Instead the dropped our appliances off in our garage and said they’d be back. We had 4 appointments in a row that were no shows. Ultimately we had to pay our GC 400 dollars to deliver and install our fridge and range. Don’t do business with them especially since they’re supposed to be a luxury brand.

Junk…

I loved all my appliances..until just after a couple months my freezer stopped working..dishwasher stopped working after 16 months. They look great but they are junk for the money you pay!

I hate this range!

I just bought a duel fuel 36 inch range & I regret it. I ruined several meals because it wasn’t properly temperature control checked at the factory. A tech came out & said it was operating 35 degrees too cold & adjusted it. The digital controls are very complex with multiple dials & knobs & steps to operate it. The temperature probe is awkward to use as well. A poorly designed & manufactured range.

I would have liked to have a five star…

I would have liked to have a five star review but without the double oven/range I ordered in August of 2021 I just can't get myself to mark 5 stars. At first the unit was to be delivered in the November/December time frame, that passed and I was told it would be January, then February then April. Well today I was told maybe sometime between August and October of this year. Reasons went from the "chip" to "well you ordered the white". Fast to take my money dead slow to deliver my product. NO 5 STARS here.

Disappointed

Bought cafe stainless steel refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Waiting almost a year for refrigerator. They look pretty when they first installed but they scratch easily and always looked smudges and dirty. Not worth the price. I regret purchasing these appliances and will never recommend them to anyone

Style over functionality

First, I want to state the my experience with Cafe is incomplete because I've been waiting for half of my appliances for over six months with delivery dates that have gone from getting pushed back to "to be determined."

With the one appliance I have (a combo microwave/oven) I have to say the experience has been disappointing. Despite having a very small compartment, the oven supposedly takes 15 minutes to pre-heat to 400 Fahrenheit. Other ovens I have of comparable size get to this temperature in 4-6 minutes. Now maybe the oven gets to temperature faster than 15 minutes, but that is how long the oven takes before claiming to be preheated. The fact that the preheat function is not measuring temperature and is simply a timer is that one time the oven was partially preheated before being turned off for 30 seconds. After deciding to go back to making what was previously planned, the oven was turned back on and the preheating took the full 15 minutes as if the oven had not been preheated for eight minutes prior to being off for 30 seconds.

I ran a test where I preheated the oven to 400 and then adjusted the temperature to 450 and the oven claimed to jump 50 degrees in five seconds. If this is not a programming error, then good luck with baking anything without ruining it if the accuracy of the oven is +/- 50 degrees. If it is a programming error, then that speaks volumes to the quality of these products. At Cafe's prices, you might want to just go with Wolf.
