Richard was a lovely friendly instructor and made my son feel at ease driving us Porsche 911. There was a lot of waiting around but it wasn’t too bad as it was nice and warm. A great experience for my 11 year old son.

We paid for my son’s driving experience for his birthday last year. The voucher was due to expire before we were able to attend, but I contacted car chase heroes and they allowed me to use the voucher at a date that suited us.
We paid extra for a car upgrade, the waiver and sighting lap. The driver my son had was really calm & clear in his instructions and my son had a fantastic time driving the Camaro Bumblebee! All staff we came in contact with today at Perranporth were friendly.
We did buy the video which was quite expensive (£40), but a good keepsake. My mum, who watched with us, went for a fast ride in a car after for £10 which has made her want to partake in her own driving experience!
Overall, we would do this again, but the added extras do all mount up which is just something to be aware of & the reason for 4 stars.

This was our second time visiting Carlisle Airfield for the Car Chase Heroes event, the first time myself and a friend did a single car driving experience and a fast lap.

This time we decided to go all in and booked ourselves onto 5 cars each! And wow was it worth it. As before the booking experience is very simple, choose your cars, choose your add on's and you are good to go. I would recommend adding on the damage waiver, one of payment to cover all the cars I drove. Also if it is your first time at a particular circuit I would book onto the sighting lap. Getting the layout of the track into your head before having to drive it is essential.

Check in was quick and friendly, they got us out track side very quickly. The system is super simple, wait for your name to be called for your chosen car, wait in the pit lane, your instructor takes you to the car and gives you a run down of the specifics of the vehicle, you might be driving a fully manual car, or one with flappy paddles, the car might be a crazy handful if you floor it in second gear so getting all of that insight from the instructors is great.

Your driving slot might sit anywhere within the 2 hour window but watching all the cars go out makes the time fly. (Another good reason to book onto more than one car! :-)

All of the instructors are fantastic, giving you perfect instruction on how to get the most out of the car and how to best get around the track. I have to mention Malcolm B as both my friend and I drove with him in a couple of different cars and he definitely pushed us both to get the maximum speed and enjoyment from the sessions.

I drove the GT40, the R32, Lambo Spider and the Dodge Hellcat, all of them can be a handful but each instructor gave me confidence to push them, my final drive of the day was in the Ariel Atom. This was very much the highlight of the day. The instructor in this one can't talk to you through the drive as you have a helmet on, oh and the speed and noise make it hard too but she talked me through a set of hand signals before setting out and again this helped me get the most out of my laps.

Can't wait until the event is back in the area, I just have to choose if I want to book more cars or extra laps next time.

Alongside the driving instructors all of the other staff we met were fantastic, friendly and enthusiastic for what they were doing. Very highly recommended!!!

Visited the Perranporth circuit for what was billed as an exhilarating experience in a police interceptor.
Not a bit of it. The "experience" consisted of 2 laps of a tight circuit with very little straight and where it was difficult to achieve speed above 50 mph which took , if I'm being generous, 5 minutes to complete. I could have driven that quickly in my own car. It was less of an exhilarating and much more an underwhelming experience.
I didn't consider it value for money.

If you want to hang about for hours to drive cars that you didn’t book then this is the experience for you! Booked the skyline for May to be told the night before it wasn’t available. We’d arranged accommodation so decided just to go anyway and take the substitutes. Against my better judgement booked it again for today as part of a package for my son as he really wants to drive it and he was very disappointed the last time. This time we arrived at the check in desk to find out it wasn’t available. No notice at all. We were offered another car which was an ‘upgrade’ according to them but wasn’t the one we wanted. So we are hundreds of pounds down and no nearer driving the Skyline, the car the initial booking was for. Plus today the final car of my son’s package sat parked up for ages with the queue not moving down at all. When I went up to ask about it I was told there was no driver for it and they were sharing the drivers between cars. If that was the case then why were they trying their best to sell even more rides?! Why not take care of the booking they already had? And I see the Skyline is being advertised for events this week. I’m willing to bet it’s not available but they are continuing to take bookings for it.

15 year old lad had a great day driving a boxter and a passenger on an Atom

I will start by saying the actual driving experience itself was brilliant... But the organization was awful, rude staff and not enough advice for the day given!
We paid for 2 car driving experiences plus a "photo".
Our time slot was 11:00-13:00, we arrived at 10:30am as advised by the website. Our child entered the first car at almost 1:30pm, the second almost 2pm. We were not told there would be a delay. I would imagine this was because they were asking if you'd like to purchase more laps on the day, which is just their way of making even more money. We also had to pay on the day, an extra £30 odd for damages, if not they would take £5000 and hold for however long! We thought there would be some sort of shade/gazebos about as we were advised to bring chairs only, which we did. There was one food place onsite. There were at least 5 people working there. I only wanted to get some drinks and was told to queue up with people ordering food, not sure why one of the 5 people there couldn't help to serve people who didn't want the £12+ fries. Then because we are in the middle of nowhere the card machine wasn't working for the family in front of me. So again, instead of serving anyone else, I had cash, we had to wait until they had some signal to pay. I waited 15 mins to get 3 cans of drink. Ridiculous. So after sitting around in the blistering sun for over 3 hours we were finally done and ready to pick up the "photo". Beware this is not an actual physical photograph. After having to wait another half hour for the pictures to come through, we then had to take a photo of the photo on our phone. Picking the best of a load of rubbish photos, we then see that you couldn't even see our child in the car! We had a photo of the guy who was in the passenger seat waving and smiling to the camera. Why do we want a picture of some random guy?!! Do NOT recommend. Would NOT go back. Awful experience really.

I was bought a Truck Experience for a birthday gift. I had to drive 2 hours to the venue, with only one date per month available. The postcode given took me to a caravan site! The whole driving experience lasted 22 mins. There was a large HGV with trailer. The drive consisted of a small coned chicane, left and right turns and a reverse exercise. The instructor was brilliant. Very disappointed it was only 22 mins long, but I had paid £30 for a video of my time in the cab. That’s when the problems started. The lady in the office was unable to download the video as she planned but promised me it would be in my email inbox by the time I’d driven the 2 hrs home. After a couple of days I chased it up. Zilch. No response to messages. After two weeks I get an email from Rob telling me the system corrupted and they were unable to send me my video. He offered me a 40% discount on another truck experience but no mention at all regarding a £30 refund. I am still chasing the refund.

Awful experience in York – avoid!

1 August 2026…
This was a really disappointing experience from start to finish, and I would not recommend it.

The first issue was being pressured into paying an extra £68 for insurance for myself and my son. The receptionist, Sienna, told me that if I didn’t pay, I could end up liable for £10,000 in damages if I damaged the car. I felt this was an unnecessary scare tactic. I work hard for my money and £68 is a lot to spend on something that I didn’t feel I needed. It was a complete waste of money.

I then had to wait for over 2 hours before my drive. The Mustang itself was dirty inside and looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time, which wasn’t what I expected from a premium driving experience.

I’ve had 20 years of driving experience, including driving high-powered performance cars, yet I was constantly being told exactly what to do by the instructor and made to drive very slowly. It didn’t feel like a supercar experience at all. The instructor told me he teaches 10-year-old kids how to drive these cars, and I genuinely felt I was being spoken to and instructed in exactly the same way.

Overall, the whole experience was frustrating, overpriced and completely failed to live up to expectations. It felt pointless and I certainly won’t be returning. Save your money and look elsewhere.
