Great service
Got car from Edinburgh branch great service couldn't have been happier with the service and got car delivered
Sold unfit for purpose car.
Sold unfit for purpose car and also told new parts would be fitted before sale. Had to go through rejectmycar in the end. Told me the car was taxed in my name at the point of sale and that I would receive log book (v5c) in the post. When it didn't arrive I had a look to see the status and it turned out that neither had been done. Unable to tax the car, it was clamped and towed by DVLA. Finance company asked them to repair the vehicle and they had to collect it. I asked for it to not be brought back to me even after repair if tax wasn't in place by then as I would be in the same position. My agreement through finance and collection of the car was at the beginning of February, the car was completely broken down by beginning of march and the complaint and part ownership ordeal went on until July. Shocking customer care and service throughout. It's no surprise they have been buying reviews, they're utter crooks. Avoid at all costs.
Great salesman

Bought a mercedes c class last february…
Bought a mercedes c class last february has a issue after 2 weeks dealt with murray who sorted it out for me took my car for mot yesterday passed first time no advisories would definetly recommend this dealer and would use again in the future
Beyond stressful
Dealing with Cars4You has been a nightmare from start to finish. I purchased a car that was supposedly MOT-ready, but their in-house MOT is nothing more than a sham. Major issues were either ignored or given temporary, slapdash fixes that failed shortly after purchase.
On collection, the car had a deep whirring noise and faulty washers. Their “repair” involved blowing air through the washer jets instead of replacing the broken washer pump. They also dismissed the noise as wheel alignment when the real issue was a faulty wheel bearing, confirmed by a different garage.
Then came the exhaust disaster. I was told a new Volvo flexi pipe was installed for its MOT. In reality, they botched the job by using excessive putty instead of welding. The leak returned, and despite explicit instructions not to use putty again, they repeated the same lazy fix. I am now paying another garage to fix it properly, as dealing with Cars4You under warranty is too stressful and pointless.
The incompetence didn’t end there. I part-exchanged my old car and trusted them to handle the V5 transfer as they said they would sort it. They didn’t. I received a DVLA fine for not insuring a car I no longer owned. Despite their assurances that it was sorted, I had to pay the fine myself.
The service is chaotic, unprofessional, and completely dismissive once they’ve made the sale. I made countless phone calls (sometimes three times a day) and wasted hours waiting for answers and repairs that were never properly done.
This company takes no responsibility, ignores basic standards of care, and leaves customers to deal with the fallout of their poor workmanship. Avoid them at all costs. I’d rather buy privately than endure this circus again.
AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!
I would avoid getting car from here. I went to view a car (Red Corsa reg MJ65 JJU) and it seemed fine, just needed a few fixes which would be done on the mot. When the car came back it had new problems like the touch screen no longer worked and the check engine light was on, other issues weren’t sorted like the paintwork, side skirt and no antenna on the car. I told them this needed sorted so they took my car back and kept it for exactly 1 month and all they fixed was the check engine light. The car came back with a warning light for the passenger airbag. They offered to take the car back and fix everything but I had no faith as they kept lying about the timescale for it to be fixed the first time and they did nothing, didn’t help that I had to keep trying to contact Murray who is the manager from the Edinburgh branch but he was always “unavailable”. I told them I wanted to return the car but they refused, this led to me having to raise a complaint with my finance company and going to trading standards. It took a few months but I eventually returned the car but they charged me for the mileage on the car even though I tried to give them it back months earlier. I would completely avoid this company as you’ll just end up stressed with all the lies and issues you get dealing with them.
Check everything
Do not use, but if you do, please check everything. Trading Standards/Consumer Advice Scotland, are your friends.
No issues in buying the car, other than one member of staff being overbearing and muscling in on the salesman I was initially dealing with and taking over the sale. I would go as far as to say I was vey happy how things went initially. £200 discount, extra six months warranty, two new tyres and new brake pads and discs.
On collection I noticed the spare key wasn’t working, to which I was told they would send someone out to fix the key. This was when things went south.
After waiting 1 week after the proposed date an email was sent to which I received no reply. A few emails later again with no reply I went in person to see the dealer. He took no responsibility! Told me they don’t check the cars or keys when they arrive from their garage after the service. (Just a coincidence that the key used throughout the sale was the working key?) Then he told me the reason the key had not been fixed/replaced was because the person was on holiday and didn’t know when he would return. He then called the key repair/replacement person, (who must have just came back from holiday). Again I was told he would fix/replace the key.
As suspected that day came and went and the key repair never happened. This is when I got Consumer Advise Scotland, involved.
After a several weeks the key was replaced.
So we have a company that does not answer emails, in the hope you will just go away. However when you refuse to go away and challenge them face to face, we have a salesman that tries to talk his way out of things with lies and false remedies all the while telling the customer he has done no wrong.
Unfortunately in my case the only people they listen to was Consume Advice Scotland.
AVIOD THIS CAR COMPONY
My partner had got a car on finance with this company, when he received the car on the way back the car was fine and then not until I got in the car and had a drive to discover the car just stops working when you brake (start/stop) the car had to be pushed to the side of the road as the car was not starting again with stop start on! He later then told cars4 you about this problem and he was told that he could take it to a near by garage and they would pay for the costs of the repair to be done so took the car to the garage and a repair for the bonnet had to take place because the bonnet catch was broken! This cost £258 which he was assured he would recieve back! So he then called them to say that the start stop was broken as the near by garage had a look so he said you will need to bring the car down here and we will repair it, he was told he would get a coursty car like for like! Far from like for like he got a price of junk with a windscreen chip in it and also is not even been taxed! He then further phoned up they took 2 weeks to do the repair on the car and the car to this day is still sitting there because he hasn’t received his £258 he was assured they would pay back, all this company is just scammers and don’t want to pay for the problems that shouldn’t have even been there in the first place! Next steps is the ombudsman as everyday he asks about receiving his money back they say aww I will catch it up it’s been 1 month and still no money! Completely AVOID THIS PLACE! MY PARTNER IS LEFT PAYING FINANCE ON A CAR HE HAS ONLY DROVE FOR 1 week! He had asked for a good will gesture to get Apple car play in but they haven’t even bothered to do that! Ridiculous customer service and would rate it about -10 joke of a company I can see by everyone else’s reviews they are having the same problem receiving a broken car! AVOID aAVIOOD
Got my first car from this company

These cars are NOT for you!
These cars are NOT for you!
My daughter-in-law bought a car online from this dealership in Broxburn. It was her first time purchasing a car. She paid the deposit online, arranged finance and a date to collect the car. When she travelled to the dealership, Dan the salesman was late, hurried her to sign the contract before showing her the car, gave her the keys and left her without looking over the car with her. She was disappointed at the state of the car but drove it away to get advice. The car barely made it to the nearest petrol station as there was no petrol in it and half way home a warning light came on and she discovered among other things that it has an oil leak and the radio didn’t work. Although passing an MOT this September there are many examples of poor workmanship which it should have failed it’s MOT on such as loose brake pipes which are routed incorrectly cutting across the engine bay etc. The car was not as described. She contacted the dealership with a view to returning the car using the 14 day cooling off period; she had only had the car a day. Murray, the manager, is well versed in ensuring that any issues will not be resolved easily. I overheard the way he talked to my daughter in law and it was disgraceful; he was bullying and belittling; sneering on more than one occasion “You just don’t like the car do you?”He was especially good at focusing on irrelevant matters such as making a big deal as to whether the conversation was being overheard by anyone and trying to argue over how many people are called Dan at Cars4you. Murray told us to have diagnostics undertaken on the car. He later said he would pay for the diagnostics. Reading the reviews it seems unlikely that she would be reimbursed and that anything will be done about all the faults. Today, on request, she was emailed the 87 point check which did not note the low oil level/oil leak, faulty radio etc. It was signed by Dan (hopefully that would be a mechanic Dan and not the Salesman Dan but who knows 🤷♀️!!!)

NEVER JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER
Wow despite the negative reviews, you won't know until you try it or buy it!!
Before coming over to one of cars4you branch. It's not what I expected. Staff was welcoming offered me water. Had a lough with other colleagues in there. And then Hamza and Murrey helped me find the right car i was looking for. Done like 3 test drives at this point, but finally for the BMW I wanted.
They done all the necessary stuff on the like MOT service etc got all the wheels refurbished to my choice of colour aswell for a very reasonable price. Got an extended warranty as a goodwill. Honestly I wasn't expecting from what I've heard. So the moral of the story is "NEVER JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER".
Overall 100% recommended and will br back for the next car in couple of years.
Couldn’t fault Zeb in the slightest
Couldn’t fault Zeb in the slightest, bought a car and it needed some work done, he made sure that everything was done prior to receiving the car, his customer service is 10/10 always makes you feel welcome, will definitely be back in the future when it’s new car time! Thanks Zeb!
Very helpful/friendly dealership
Couldn’t recommend this dealership enough. This was my first time getting a car in the UK. This dealership had a great rang of cars and great staff who were always very helpful to answer all my questions. Zeb and his team were very patient and helpful with me as I needed time to gather documents and understand the process. Zeb ensured to always update me on the process with the car and was happy to answer my questions and seek additional support for me when needed. This dealership had cars at a great price, allowed for test drives and provided great prices if something was needed on the car also. Couldn’t recommend this dealership enough as it was evident that they look out for their customers and go above and beyond to ensure they get what their customer is looking for.

It seems to be a recurrent issue with this company, all the reviews seem to be exactly the same. The vehicles seem to be fine until they are checked by an independent, and low and behold there's a massive of issues. Exactly the same story with the car I bought 3 weeks ago. Took it to my usual garage for a scraping sound(which actually seemed to be the top of the iceberg) and found that the car had issues that should have been rectified prior to allowing it back on the road, and what's more, shouldn't have passed its MOT which was carried out TWO days before collection! I've gone through the relevant channels in terms of reporting it it to DVSA and the motor ombudsman. The "managers" are very skilled at talking over the top of you, and trying to shutting you down so that you don't actually get a chance to speak. From the other reviews, I've been able to make choices, and instruct the finance company that they will not act as they should according to the law. Avoid this company.
I would recommend to any one
I would recommend to any one, very helpful staff, no pressure to buy, the car I brought was valeted to a very high standard this is the place to start looking for your next car
Don't use cars4u…
Bought a suzki swift from cars4u Dunfermline, the heater on the back windscreen wasn't working. They had the car for a week while the whole back window was to be replaced as apparently the heater is integral and can't be fixed separately
It was end of March by the time I got the car back, I was unable to test to see if the heating strip was working until this morning only to discover it didn't work, and clearly had never been fixed. I called Dunfermline and then Broxburn only to be told after 6 months they only had my word for this and I should contact someone to look at it. Do not use this company they are not trustworthy.
Hi anyone buying a car from cars4you…
Hi anyone buying a car from cars4you BEWARE!!they put my new car through an mot and came with no advisories just had car mot’d from a year ago and now all of a sudden it has all these advisories,a rusty brake pipe, which doesn’t just happen over a year suspension arm and bush needed.i don’t even do the average standard mileage for the year I drive work van durin the day.obviously doing DODGY MOT’s SO BE CAREFUL EVERYONE complete rip off
TRUST THE OVERWHELMINGLY NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND AVOID
They don't know or care about your consumer rights. Long story short, sold me a faulty car, I claimed a refund as within my rights, they made this long and difficult, before getting abusive phone calls from an arrogant scrote called Murray who's the main manager and mentioned frequently in these reviews, saying how I'm being difficult and pedantic and how he's glad not to do business with the likes of me blah blah blah, if only you knew the law and respected it Murray. You made the whole process go on and on instead of just doing what you ended up doing in the end anyway and giving me my money back. Little sausage syndrome.
