I bought casks from Cask Cap (previously trading as London Cask Co) on the promise that I was purchasing a solid, sellable product. Nearly four years later, what I actually own has turned out to be among the most illiquid and unwanted casks on the market.
Communication has been poor throughout. They’ve been unable to sell my casks at anything close to my original purchase price, and the explanation I’ve been given is the war in Iran. I take responsibility for handing over my money in the first place, but I’d urge anyone considering this company to think very carefully before doing the same.
In my experience, this was not a good investment, and I wouldn’t recommend them.

Update: After posting this review, the owner, Aaron, called me directly. Instead of addressing any of my concerns, he told me I’d “shot myself in the foot” by leaving it, and said he’s no longer willing to sell my casks and is “not obliged to” — something I never once claimed he was in my review. So that’s the kind of customer service you can expect from this company. :)

What a great company to deal with all excellent information and quality products.Aaron was so helpful and made the Cask and gold purchases easy.
Will be working with these guys a lot more in the future.

I have invested in a number of casks with different companies and to date it has been an issue cashing out. However I can state that Aaron and his team were able to successfully exit my position at the number agreed and the cash was in my account within 24hrs. Although the sale did take a little longer than anticipated, the company was able to deliver on their promise. So for that I can post a positive experience.

Awful at communicating. After researching the company a bit more and noticed they don't seem legitimate, I then tried to get my money back in June. It wasn't until I referenced legal action they decided to give me my money back in November. 6 months later. Would not recommend.

I had some money left over from an inheritance that I wanted to invest. I knew nothing about whiskey investment but Caskcap walked me through the opportunities and the risks with great patience. I was so impressed I invested twice more when I had some cash liquidity. I cashed in part of my investment just now which was a quick and simple process. Highly recommended.

Made an investment with this company 3 years ago as a first time investor in this type of thing. All seemed pretty rosy through the years with the updates of how much my Cask is supposedly worth and offers of further amazing deals of better casks costing more and gaining more in the long run
Unfortunately I had (and still have really) had cause to cash it in, last December, but was told by Arron to hold until the 3 year point. I recontacted them in May as my circumstances didn't change, but that's when radio silence kicked in. Trying to get hold of them was a nightmare, so much so I had to question wether I'd been ripped off or not. They were soon on the defence and assurred me the picture of a circificate in a dark room is genuine...... and that's all really. I got hold of Arron again via email and he passed me on (fobbed off) to Dari to handle my case. This was around June. It's November and still no purchase, getting it sold is like getting bait out of an eel!! Any excuse they think of it. Dari told me that my guess of an over ambitious estimate of the value gained is genuine, it's just I have to wait for the right time (logic would then say it obviously is over ambitious) I'm sure I have loads more waiting yet!!! They're excellent at telling you what a great investment you've made, and how brilliant it would be if you made more (so glad I didn't) but getting it purchased back is close to impossible at best. I've put May as the date, but obviously still ongoing
UPDATE Its been 3 months since I wrote this review and received the reply below. Didn't get the email mentioned or any others. It's like being in a war, maintaining radio silence is key 🙄

I am a first time investor and I have found the whole process easy and simple to understand.I purchased my cask in December2022. Everyone has been helpful and have contactected me when necessary. There has been no hardsell to buy further casks.Looking forward to the future.

I have made 4 investments over the past couple of years each trade was made easy and stress free with the guidance of Aaron and all of the staff. The whiskey investment has turned out quite fruitful which has been reassuring starting out as a novice.

Everything was handled professionally and without any issues. The team were polite and kept me informed along the way. Overall, a good experience and everything went as expected.

Have now been trying to get in touch with this company for several days (through various channels) to sell my cask and have had no response. This is extremely concerning so I would strongly recommend avoiding this company.

I have been with Cask Cap for nearly 4 years, and in that time, I have not only bought a number of casks, but I have been selling some of my casks.
The process, with Aaron at the helm as my mentor, has gone extremely well, and Aaron has been an excellent guide and mentor in taking me through the selling process.

This was the first time I have invested in whiskey and as expected was reluctant to put my hard worked savings which I wanted to invest for my daughter into something new but Aron and the team couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding regarding any questions or queries I had giving me professional assistance throughout. I had bought the casks 2 years prior and due to a family emergency have had to exit the market when the whiskey had not matured which is very difficult to arrange and even in current market conditions have managed to sell them at a nice profit. Couldn’t recommend more to anyone looking for a safe high interest long term investment with these guys best in the market from my experience.

The Team lead by Aaron has been very professional in dealing with me. Realising that I had no knowledge of Whiskey business, the initial discussions were about education and provision of information about the whole whiskey market.There was no salesman pressure.
I found the Team honest and trustworthy, with in-depth knowledge of the business. Since investing the follow up communication has been excellent. Although the future outcome of any investment is not 100% predictable, with Caskcap I feel I am is a safe space.

From start to finish and through every stage, nothing but the utmost professionalism. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get into this type of investment.

They should be more information regarding fees on the front pages that you read companies that make you submit your email your information. I really am not sure about them they’ve got nothing to hide show all information. The thing is I am investing £5000 in the cask and it’s been left for 30 years. Then another £5000 being left for 25 the last one at least one £10.000 task for 40 years. So I need to know what hidden payments are there going to be? I’m sorry but I will not be using your company. The information should be right out there. Good luck in the future.

Being relatively new to the world of whiskey/whisky, I did some research and ended up buying some casks with this company.
Made some purchases, fine. Then another cask was dangled. So I purchased that one back in early November 2022. It was sold to me as a 300 litre cask at a particular price. Got the invoice, paid, etc etc.
Then some time afterwards they told me it wasn't actually a 300 litre cask, it was a 225 litre cask!
Ofcourse there would be a partial discount but I wasn't happy with the amount. They said the distillery had decided that. Have no idea where the fault lay, of course never will.
Anyway, the point is, we are now mid June and I STILL haven't received the partial refund. No word of it since November!! Not had a single call or mail related to this matter either! In this or any day and age, unacceptable!!
But particularly as a new customer I am astonished that this has been ignored for so long......I actually want a full refund now on that cask asap due to breach of contract or Trading Standards will be knocking on their door.....they've had nearly 8 months after all......
UPDATE; As of several days later still no word on where the refund is!
FURTHER UPDATE; Received full refund 17 July 2023.

Recently toured the Boann Distillery following an invitation from London Cask Co.
Theo and the team were extremely attentive on the day which was an absolute joy. I previously invested in a Cask from Boann and finding out about the distillery and the people involved has reinforced my belief that London Cask Co. care deeply about their customers.

From my initial enquiry to eventual purchase of several casks the service and advice provided by the LCC was excellent with never a hint of the 'hard sell'.
I would definitely recommend using the LCC if you are thinking of investing in Irish Whiskey.
The visit to the Boann distillery is also a must.

Aaron and the other staff have been very approachable and helpful in guiding me with my whiskey investments. No hard sales and also great distillery tours to see where the whiskey journey starts. A very good company indeed, and totally trustworthy.
