I ordered the mystery box using the Wowcher code, selecting the 7-30 day delivery.
I didn't read the reviews until a while after I had ordered.

To cut a long review shorter:

Yes, like the reviews say, it did take a long time to arrive (about 28 days in total to arrive). But it is absolutely worth it!
(Feel sorry for the DPD driver though as it was VERY heavy & HUGEEEE box!) Lol

We got a wonderful selection of all sorts of things.
Cakey type things & sweets, various interesting flavour crisps, various drinks, condimenty type stuff like bottles of sauces and packets of stuff for that which is useful, stuff for the kids pack lunch like a whole case of jelly, cocktail syrups, squash/juices, baking related things like bread flower, hot drink things, chocolates, big cases full of stuff... AND MUCH MORE!

(Was trying to describe without giving away surprise of things that you may potentially get lol).

There are even snacks in there from other countries, which we'll enjoy trying out!

To the people complaining about the things inside on some of these reviews:
~ it states that it's a SURPRISE box & will get a wide variety of things.
They haven't got time to cater to everyone's individual preferences. That defeats the point of a surprise, right!?

~ in knowing this, you must be the type of person that's willing to maybe test out the odd few new flavour thing that you've not tried before. (We personally found that exciting!). MOST things in the huge box are everyday stuff that most will find useful or nice.
It's down to preference & not the business's fault...

I also didn't receive a reply to my 2 emails until I got a bit impatient/unhappy for a moment too (mainly because I was so excited for it to arrive), but they are very busy and it does state it can take up to 30 days if select the 7-30 delivery time at checkout.
Could be improved, yes, but regardless, it was totally worth waiting for & will be ordering again!

So,
If you have someone to help you carry a HUGE/HEAVY box, like to fill your cupboards up completely, like trying new things, want a lot of the essentials & useful stuff in one box, like surprises, and like getting a good deal...
Then this is for you!

I did order again, this time along with a few seperate little bits & Just received an email to say that DPD already has it & will be delivered tomorrow!! Only ordered it on 14th, and I selected the 7-30 day delivery, so that is brilliant! So excited to receive it, and like last time, will be looking forward to making my mum a little food/drink package out of the bits to drop off as we ended up with Soooo much.

Still waiting for package to arrive and paid for faster delivery, No updates on this. The site is hard to negotiate now with all the adds and difficult to log in. I have used this company before but not again such a shame.

If I could give no star I would have. I placed order on 29th Feb. No confirmation email but money taken from Paypal account, as per previous reviewer. I've tried the email address on the Wowcher confirmation, and tried chat on numerous occasions and always get the response that its offline. Really poor experience please can I get some sort of confirmation and expected date of delivery

I have order for the first time from Clearance XL and couldn't regret more, received my products expired in MARCH 2022, yes 2 years out of date, what a joke!
Sent an email to complain and ask for the refund which no one bother to reply, also the only contact number we have to call also the lines goes dead! There's no costumer service at all.
Very dodgy all together! Don't waste you money and time with them.

I made my first order a few weeks ago. Shortly after, I later decided to add more items as well as go through a cashback site. I was unable to do this as, it seems, some of my items had run out of stock
So, to clear the basket, I cancelled the order, which, as noted on the website, is allowed within 2 hours of the original order.
However, even though this was all done on a Sunday, I got a message that the order had been shipped 60 minutes later
Over the past 2 weeks, I have rung the company phone number and sent emails multiple times but have never received a reply; no one has ever answered the phone
Despite the cancellation, the parcel arrived a couple days later. As I had not hear from this outfit, I finally opened the parcel only to find a missing item, even though I had been charged for it
It is hard to trust a company that operates like this and is completely unresponsive

To start i ordered a cost of living box for £40 and paid £4.99 for 1-5 day delivery. I was a bit weary as it is a lot of money for stuff you might not like in the cost of living but decided to give it a go to my regret. I emailed multiple times asking for an update on my order after the 3rd day by the 5th day i emailed again and said i would be leaving a negative review to which my order magically got dispatched 10 minutes later bearing in mind its 1-5 delivery not 1-5 day dispatched. I received my order on the 6th day and was shocked by how bad the contents were i was given a 12 pack of mayonnaise which was smashed in the box, and nearly a year out of date, i also received a a giant box of hollandaise sauce single sachets which were 2 years out of date and were watery and uneuseable and other sauces including mustard, cesar salad dressing which were all unuseable due to the dates. The only useable items were a box of crisps, a single can of coke and a single twix out of a multipack. So definitely not worth £45 dont waste your money.

Order something. Received wrong product. Went on the online chat, and the agent I was talking to you'd me there would stop and get a cup of coffee. Seriously, what awful customer service

Placed my 1st order for mystery box using wowcher on 6th feb. No confirmation from clearance but PayPal and wowcger confirmed paid and redeemed. Unfortunately didnt notice long postage so have given the benefit of doubt. As the 30days approached i emailed asking for update and no reply but iN shows pending. Emailed again today as still.pending but still no update or delivery. Within minutes of emailing them my order has xhanged to completed. Was really excited when i found this company but sadly i feel ive bn scammed. This is only my experiance so dont judge on 1 opinion.
***4pm*** email from courier advising parcel should be with them soon. Ive left rating as it is for now and will update on receipt of order.

Delivery recieved from DPD and i am pleased with purchase. Mystery box not all to our tastes but good variety and good value for money. Due to this i have changed rating from 1 to 4 as i cant bring myself to give a 5 due to non communication and having to leave a negative review in 1st place. This is complete bad customer service and i sincerely hope your company resolve this with that said i will considering using the company again in the future as i am.pretty pleased will my purchase.

Ordered my box on 15th Feb, ( and sadly I realised also that I clicked the longer postage)
I emailed and got a reply from Paul asking my order date and then nothing since.
Still no box, or update.
Would appreciate an update, or my box, or a refund if I'm not getting the box?
Happy to review the feedback once and if box arrives- but so far..... Nothing!

The web page is covered in adverts and i ended up clicking on an ad i didn’t want. I found it a confusing website to find the mystery box but i ordered one. I paid for 1-5 day delivery service but it took 7 days to arrive. No response from customer service chat when i enquired.
The box was not much use to me as most of it was spicy flavours of crisps and sachets of mustard. Lots of small jars of mayo. and tonic water bottles. Items are too repetitive in bulk to make up the value.
Not impressed so won’t be using this company again.

I ordered 2 mystery boxes, both got damadged and disposed of by dpd. I contacted clearance xl via live chat, email and the contact us form with no response at all. Managed to get refunded by my bank, wouldnt buy from them again.

I don't understand all the seriously negative reviews, you pay for what it is! I'm pleased with what I received have no complaints nobody been rude. There were 3 items that I'd not consume but that's MY CHOICE. So overall this was a great idea, thanks guys.

Clearance XL are great if nothing is wrong with your order - i've been ordering from them for years and the quality which obviously best before has always been great with some great deals to be had.

The problem is when something goes wrong with your order - like in my case I ordered a godmister valentines cheese which was not in the box - I can't be sure if it was never packed or if it fell out because there was a hole at the bottom of the box.

I reached out pretty much instantly in the hope they would be able to send it out in time for valentines as my wife was really looking forward to sharing it with me.

However no response - i've since emailed 5 times, including from other emails incase they were not recieveing my emails from my normal email address. I also tried the chat system on their site - but i've not been able to get a response. My order was on the 31st Jan and i've had zero communication since then.

Annoying the only reason I placed an order in the first place was because of the cheese, but now i've paid £7.99 for a cheese I never got which is more than a real bummer.

I didn't really want to leave a bad review as I generally have a good experience, but on this occasion the customer service has been non-existant and i've lost £7.99.

Please respond and resolve my issue and I will adjust my review accordingly.

Ordered on the 31st of January and still not received my box. I’ve emailed on a couple of occasions and no response no refund, complete scam do not order.

Received a huge box of mustard, mayonnaise and tonic.
Some of the other bits were best before 6/22 and 11/21
While I am happy to eat food that is just past the best before date this is a joke!
Complete waste of money!

I ordered a roll of wallpaper on 23/12/23 paid for 1 - 5 days delivery. I have never received it !
I have responded to an email dated 2/1/24 thanking me for my order and hoping that I am enjoying my purchase, saying that I have not yet received it. I am still waiting. I have tried calling them many times and have not yet had the phone picked up !
I am totally fed up - would never use again.

I have now received an email from Clearence XL refunding the cost of the wallpaper - not inluding postage paid. I would really have prefered to have the wallpaper but hey ho. They obviously don't read emails or answer phones but Trustpilot reviews are a must so it seems!

I brought of Clearance xl for years and sadly I won’t be anymore prices are have gone up wear in some cases same or even more in shops last order I had took ages and came in 2 deliveries even know I was not told this carrot and bunny games had black mould in the boxes on them all and had to be binned 5 of the toys wear badly damaged and also went in the bin no point message as takes ages to get a response if you do get one I don’t know why a company like this that was so good for want they do changed to wear all they care is about making as much as they can out of a item and don’t care want existing customers or new ones sending out items that’s not even can be used and had to be binned I even stuck up for them on my reviews in the past and even found them clearance deals but now it feels like all they care about is there pockets and not the customers who keeps them going

It was not no 6 toys it was all the carrot games , all rabbit games , 3 guess who and 2 Ludo as said I message a few times asking for a update on my order only got a response back when I left a review as my order was sent in different days I had no response from you at all so why would I wasted more time and getting stressed out over it just to not even get a response back from the first time I emailed you

I spent loads with you in the past but the carrot games you can tell they got wet and then dryed and then wear they been store the mould got to them

It’s only a saving if the item/ items are useable as you know from past messages theses toys wear heading to a charity that asked me to purchase them on there behalf
I could not let a charity pay for badly damaged toys or toys with mould so it came out of my pocket so all it done was make more waste that you trying to stop

Also how would parcel company would know if a items are damaged in sealed box these wear damaged when they wear packed also I did not get my whole order the same day if you look back at emails you would see this

Calling me basically a lier and a fake review is shocking from a company I spent 1000s with and even spoke to you when I found you a deal what you brought and sold then now calling me a lier is shocking so for this I re-evaluated my review for you

I was go throw my emails and it pop up to leave a review I got this email 4 days ago that’s why I fort I would say something

My food order box came damaged to the point where milk had leaked all over the other food items. Took me an hour cleaning up the mess.

The response from clearance XL was very poor. The owner of the company paul, instead of helping me resolve the situation, he sent me emails trying to say it was not his fault. Had a bad attitute.

The food items in the box, 95% were useless to me. For example i got 12 mayo bottles out of date,
Tonic water full pack etc. Misleading advertisement on the wowcher website.

Will never use clearance XL again

Didn’t get my parcel still waiting on refund
