I spent thousands on shelving last year (2023). I am trying to buy additional hooks and components, and TCS is telling me they don't have any. They said try Amazon or Ebay. The disappointing thing is I am sure when they sold me this system they knew they were going to stop supporting the line. Not a trustworthy company.

First and foremost, I want to recognize Kathryn, Rachel, Joel, Ben, and especially Dan, who was the mastermind behind my project. Dan started and finished the design with me, showcasing incredible patience, politeness, and thoughtfulness throughout the process. His out-of-the-box thinking and smart solutions truly made the project come to life.
The entire team played a vital role, especially when Dan fell ill. Everyone stepped in seamlessly to ensure that the project stayed on track. Their teamwork and dedication ensured that we received the materials on time and completed the setup within the tight timeframe I had. Their ability to accommodate my needs and deliver exceptional service in such a short span is truly commendable.

Worst customer service I have ever…
Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I ordered a laundry cart with liners and about 6 hours later emailed them asking for the order to be canceled as it was not collapsible. I was told they could not cancel it because FedEx had already been informed of the pickup. I asked how I could return it and was given an address in Texas. I then found out that to send this 19x19x30 inch box from New York would cost over $140, more than the order cost. I called to complain pointing out that it could not have cost $140 for them to ship it to me. I asked for a Supervisor and they refused to come to the phone. I was told to return it to the store but I have serious difficulty walking and cannot carry this huge box into a store. They have no return label policy at all. I wish I had never heard of them. I advise everyone to never shop with them.

Never used the companies products but the ads they use cover up content on webpages that are so annoying I went out of my way to leave this review to assume that the annoyance and disregard is a part of the company's culture. Bad look.

Wish I had read the most recent reviews. The Company used to be reputable, but they are thinking short term. When ordered, I asked for help on phone regarding their Elfa products. They gave me wrong information! I called again, they again gave me the wrong information AGAIN assured me that the Elfa wall rack was the correct one. It wasn't!!! Now I have to pay to return ... which isn't terrible, but they won't supply a return label. There are no Container Stores near me to return said item. Plus, I am elderly so it is more than difficult to put item in the car and it is cumbersome to handle. Almost all stores provide return labels so items can be picked up ... even if you pay a fee. They will assist me. As mentioned in other reviews, Customer Service along with their quasi supervisors are not at all helpful. Have always liked the Elfa products but next time will order them direct from Elfa.com (silly me). Won't make this mistake again. And, in future, will order products they sell directly from the manufacturer. DISAPPOINTED is a mild complaint.

What’s with the cheap labels that you can’t peel off? I soaked a trash can label for two days and couldn’t get the adhesive off. Shame on you Container Store for your high prices and cheap labels that can’t be removed by the buyer. It’s pennies more for a label that peels off!
Container Store Nightmare
I tried to buy $4000 worth of Elfa closet stuff from the Container Store on May 29. The website said it would arrive by June 2. Perfect! Renters are moving into the house on June 15. This gives me time to hang the new closet hardware. June 1, it hasn't even shipped and I I never got an email order confirmation. So, I tried to cancel the order. No dice. I ordered everything from California Closets on June 2. It arrived 6/5. Still no order confirmation and no shipment from Container Store. And, they still won't cancel the order.
UPDATE 6/10: I ordered BEAUTIFUL California Closets Everyday units on 6/2.. California Closets sent an order confirmation via email within an HOUR. 3 days later, I had an entire closetful of gorgeousness for less than 5% more than the Container Store stuff.
The Container Store customer service reps said the order could be rerouted back to the warehouse once I got tracking numbers. So, the same day I received the tracking numbers, I asked for the stuff to be rerouted. All of the tracking numbers were updated with the Container Store's delivery address. Days later, I started getting delivery attempt notices. YESTERDAY, they charged my card and they're trying to deliver the closet again.
I'm never doing business with Container Store again.
TL;DR: Live up to your commitments to your customer, or allow order cancelations. If you do neither, expect bad reviews. When you say you're accepting a return, don't turn around and send it right back to the customer.
In Store Service
I usually don't have problem shopping here until today March 10, 2023 in morning at the container store in Little Rock. The cashier was argumentative and combative and eventually I had to tell her she was pissing me off and so many words to go away. Please train your employees better. I have been a shopper here for couple years now. Even if I return another person's order and had their order sent to me in email, it shouldn't be a problem and is within a return policy. Her other coworker was a blessing and got items I wanted promptly. Thus, the given star rating instead of one. I typically don't give bad reviews but this should be addressed.

when accounts were still pop account and not insider program. For this unfortunate experience, I'll likely shop less in store and just get my items shipped to the house.
Most of the times if I do shop in store, the service was wonderful. You guys do great work in retail industry. I hope something gets addressed by this cashier. You can contact me and I'll gladly give specific details such as name and etc.
My closet was made of elfa/rubber maid products. The materials they've used are ok quality some of them I do have to fix with a soft mallet since it got bent (shoe shelves) or exposed wiring in baskets. One or couple items I'll do an exchange if it isn't fixable or I got tired of fixing their products.

Both my accounts got hacked and my user name was changed so I couldn’t get in to change the password. Customer service refused to research to find and close the accounts. Now I am vulnerable to identity theft because they apparently don’t care enough to find a close an account with fraudulent activity.

Was so hopeful, thoroughly disappointed. I spent close to $500+ in my first month with container store. Regret it due to how poorly run they are.
First red flag was that one of the shelves I ordered came with a missing foot. Contacted customer support. They told me to order replacement off of Amazon. Horrendous.
Second red flag was that I had a return. I live in NY so the store looks close, but in actuality not feasible at all for me to go visit in less than 2 hours. No pre-paid return labels? In the Amazon decade? Genuinely pathetic. They expect me to pay - of course containers are the most awkwardly shaped and expensive to ship.
Stay away from this nightmare of a company.
Nightmare buying custom closets
I've had a very poor experience trying to buy custom closest from The Container Store and would strongly recommend that people explore other options. Experience has been filled with poor communication, limited responsiveness, poor quality on install and TCS not doing what they said they would do.
- My journey started with an in-person design session in the store on May 20th. I was ordering 7 closets from a combination of Elfa, Avera and Preston
- I received early Avera and Elfa drawings on May 23
- I called the store 6 times before someone got back to me to revise the drawings and complete a purchase (June 19th... 4 weeks later)
- I didn't receive drawings for the Preston closet until June 19th and it took until July 1st to get those completed such that I could buy the closet
- My two Elfa closets were installed on June 22nd. Several of the pieces did not fit and pieces were missing from the order. The installer left 4 big drawers that I had to take back to the store if I wanted a refund
- My two Avera closets were installed on June 30th. The installers used tape that was not safe for the walls and damaged my ceiling
- My Preston closets were supposed to be installed on August 22nd and 23rd (more than 3 months after first purchase attempt) and there were significant parts missing. The installers left my home with 10% of the closet installed and pieces all over the closets
- That evening I tested to make sure that everything was properly secured and two large (2' x 4' feet) pieces came crashing to the floor. These pieces were unsecured in a home with a 12 month old baby and presented a significant safety hazard
- I called the customer service and manager of the store. They promised they would investigate options and return my phone call. They have not and did not do what they said they would
- I still do not know when the parts for Preston will be available and when my installation will be complete. I have already paid for these 3 closets
Save yourself the trouble and buy someplace else.

I bought a expensive shopping cart for $69.00 11 months ago at the Container Store. It broke in Oct 2021. I called corporate and said its out of warranty and they refused to do anything. I bought it at the Cherry Hill, NJ location. This company is fraud and they are being reported to the attorney generals office. I will never buy from them again. They are a bunch of losers and only care about profits and not customers. Useless company. Save your money. They discontinued the item because they got too many complaints about it is what Im told. Well--duh!

2 days after my order was placed someone scanned a barcode on the box in a warehouse in Texas. It sat there for another 8 days. I have been bombarded with spam from the container store several times a day since my order, but not one single shipping update, order number or tracking number. On day 10 I called "Customer Service" where a very rude lady insisted that it had left the Texas warehouse on its way to California (I am in-between both locations). Finally, since she could not or would not answer the simplest questions, she abruptly said it will be delivered on the 23rd and hung up. Moments later I received an email with tracking links that both said "Check Back Soon" Now it is the 23rd and one of the links states they missed the pickup time and it will be delivered tomorrow. THEY CHARGE YOU FOR SHIPPING!

I ordered $198 worth of kitchen plastic containers. Way more expensive than anyone else's, but theirs are the best. I typed in my current shipping address and billing info and hit 'complete purchase.' After a while, when my stuff didn't arrive, I checked the tracking info, and they had shipped to my old address. I went on customer service and was put on hold forever and finally hung up on. So I tried the online chat. That person, 'Natalie' immediately said it was my fault, not their problem before I even explained all the details. Once I told her that I definitely entered my correct address and it was their error, she said it was too late to fix since it was already delivered and I should try finding the people it was shipped to (in NJ--I'm in SC!) and asking them for the merchandise. This is why I wont be shopping with them ever again, and this is also why Amazon is so huge. Amazon would send me new stuff in the interest of retaining me as a loyal customer, so would Walmart. Container Store could care less!
Great service and great products
I ordered 8 fridge bins and sadly one was damaged in transit. I contacted them and received a response almost immediately! They gave me a choice between a new item and a refund but because of the international shipping I chose a refund. Great service and the bins that arrived in good condition are amazing! I’ve also seen reviews about stuff not being dishwasher friendly but they state that on the site so carefully read that through and you’re good to go.
