Excellent Quality and Service
We decided to call the Container Store and try their design services which are free. A time was scheduled for a digital meeting and we received an email with instructions on how to connect. Prior to the meeting we were instructed as to how to measure the space and where to send the measurements which we wrote on a form provided by the Container Store. At the appointed time we clicked on the link and waited a short time before Natalie connected and introduced herself. The session began with Natalie asking questions as to the scope of the work which entailed the design for elements to be installed in small “His” and “Her” walk-in closets. After the face to face discussion the screen changed to a graphic design tool and we were able to watch as Natalie began the process by placing various elements in the first closet based on our discussion. She was obviously well trained as a customer consultant and also had a thorough knowledge of the use of the design software. The elements being placed were shoe drawers, short and long hanging spaces, ventilated shelving and ventilated drawers. It was very helpful to play “what if” by trying various elements in different spaces. It took Natalie about 3 to 4 seconds to make any change we wanted to try. After completing the first closet we repeated the process for the second closet. After about an hour we were satisfied with the design and decided to move forward with an order. The total price was $5000 less than the Home Depot bid. All of our elements were delivered over a three week period and we received deliveries from FedX and USPS every two or three days. After the final delivery we opened all boxes and inventoried items based on package slips and the original bill and every thing was there. I was satisfied with the quality. The bottom of one drawer had been crushed. I called customer service and the hold time was less than 45 seconds. The new drawer was delivered in four days. I installed the elements myself and found the instructions clear and straight forward. During the installation process I discovered that three standards were five inches too long due to my error in measuring. I decided to cut them down to size. After cutting the first standard I noticed that I cut the excess off the wrong end which rendered this standard unusable. I called customer service again and the hold time was less than 20 seconds. The agent informed me that “these things happen” and said he would send, at no charge, a new standard cut to the correct length. I would order from the Container store again and I will also recommend The Container Store to my family and friends.

They "Cancel" Negative Product reviews
Purchased an order online and after waiting WEEKS, I finally received it. I wrote what I felt was a fair and honest review of the item, nothing inappropriate, but the kind of information I would have appreciated when I was deciding to purchase this item, (which had glowing reviews) My review was not accepted for "not meeting their guidelines", without stating what particular guideline I didn't meet. The review was fact based on WHY it didn't meet my needs to hopefully help someone else make an informed decision. If TCS "Cancels" negative reviews, then they cannot be trusted, and I will no longer do business with them.
Greedy & Inflexible Behavior
I am absolutely furious with the Container Store. I placed an online order on 2/21/21 and another one on 2/13/21. The 2/13 order was supposed to ship in @10 days. On 2/25 I received an email informing me processing on the first order could take 2-4 weeks because of the recent Texas weather disaster. I live in another state where natural disasters occur with regularity so I am not ignorant of such disruptions.
I asked if I could cancel the order and would instead pick up the items at my nearest store 2 hours away because I could not wait 4 weeks to receive the order. The clerk said the order was in process and could not be cancelled.
The options he offered: Receive the items and then either return them at MY expense or take them to my nearest store...in my case, a 2 hour drive. I am elderly, the items ordered are heavy, I cannot place them inside my car myself nor am I willing to drive 2 hours to return them.
Neither option is acceptable and this unconscionable and greedy behavior on the part of The Container Store is totally unacceptable. I’ve spent thousands of dollars thru the years on their merchandise, but due to this inflexible stance I’ll have to reconsider where to spend my money in the future.
Buyers beware, this is a company that leaves customers ‘holding the bag’ when the company is inconvenienced by unplanned eventualities. Shame on you, Container Store!
I have had such a terrible experience…
I have had such a terrible experience at the Century City store and the El Segundo store. On the website the El Segundo store was marked as open. It had some items I could not get by my store and I drove over an hour to pick up some items. The manager greeted me with so much hostility. I just asked for a cart in the parking lot and she was yelling at me that they were not open. I was like, I didn't know it said on the website a couple hours ago you were. She was so hostile continued to be nasty I actually took some of my items back to another "open" store. This all could have been avoided if the website was updated. This was a weekend and I was definitely not the only person at the door expecting an open store. As for Century City, they have some of the rudest cashiers I have ever seen. This is a challenging time, I am not sure if they are being mis managed and that is why these employees at two stores are so hostile but its really unnecessary.

Bought multiple gift cards through their website. I was charged but the confirmation failed and gift cards were never sent. Have reached out to support numerous times to be told to reach out to a third-party site. Have emailed that third-party site 4 times and never received a response.
Slow service, no service

Seriously, Container Store?? You can’t manage to properly stock and ship out product in a fast efficient manner like Amazon, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond and just about every other store? Good luck staying in business.

Poor customer service-I tried to cancel an order after being alerted that the items were delayed, but they claimed that they couldn't, nor would they let me return the items without being charged without bringing them into a store. They do have great items, and are generally great to work with in store, but the website and support for it is terrible from a user experience. I'd recommend Wayfair instead for organizational items by far.

Received multiple shipments from this company & I was pleased until.... item shipped was cracked. I reached out to the company multiple times with no response. So their return policy means absolutely nothing. Will not purchase from here again until they abide by their policy. Shady.
Do Not order online!
I am not surprised this company treats their employees poorly given my recent experience with online orders. I was prepared to wait two weeks for an order to ship until I realized I had a store less than an hour away. I emailed customer service asking for a modification or cancellation two days after I placed my order, no response or even acknowledgment of my message. The next day I did a chat asking for a cancellation and I received the generic copied response...”covid, delays, order is processing, cannot be cancelled” Let’s not forget this company only charges you when the order ships, so my money was being held in limbo based on when they ship each item. I called the phone number, waited on hold for 22 minutes then finally caved and left my number for a call-back. After closing time I got a call from a nice gentleman to tell me that someone would contact me in the morning. I was never contacted. I emailed customer service again asking for an explanation of their “order is processing system” and why I have orders processing for three weeks with one item delivered and no further communication. I did get a response stating orders are picked by machine and they can only be cancelled once my item is shipping out, a very small window considering the shipment email is sent a day after my Fedex App alerted me of the incoming packages. Basically, it is impossible to cancel an order with this place. I assume it is poor leadership and the employees are left to deal with discouraged customers and no real solutions. This company is a disappointment and I believe they took advantage of the pandemic to have an excuse for their poorly executed ordering system. I eventually received both of my orders a month after ordering. This company will never survive if they continue to operate like this. Knowing how they treat their employees is just another reason for me to buy discounted gift cards to use in the physical store. I refuse to give them any new money, but I’m obsessed with the elfa door systems.

Where do I begin they treat their employees so horribly. They have warehouse employees working in very hot condition its already hard to breathe with the mask on plus we are fighting the heat. While office mangers and office workers get to sit in the office with nice cold air. They let us know last week someone had covid but they didn't shut down only did "extra cleaning" yeah right! And now they are ending hazard pay its not even worth it anymore. They keep lying to customers that they will receive product in two week 🙄 yeah good luck with that. THE CONTAINER STORE is not employee friendly to them we are just another number and they keep hiring more and more people. If I were you spend your money elsewhere because they charge to much for items that break within a week.
