Sold a used/incomplete item as brand new & aggressive manager misconduct!
I am deeply shocked by my recent experience at the Currys Manchester Arndale store (Branch 5214). On Saturday 22nd August, I purchased a JBL Charge 6 speaker for £129.00, believing it was brand new.
When I opened it, it was clear that Currys had sold me a used customer return as 'new stock.' The factory box seal was already broken and dirty, the speaker inside was dusty, and the standard manufacturer's white protective wrapping bag was entirely missing.
I went back to the Manchester store on the exact same day to return this incomplete item. Instead of helping, the Store Manager was incredibly hostile, shouting at me and raising his voice aggressively in front of other shoppers before flatly refusing the return. I then tried my local Kettering branch, who confirmed the internal packaging was missing but told me I had to take it back to Manchester.
Selling used goods as brand new is a breach of the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015. I have already raised a formal dispute with Klarna to freeze my payments and emailed the Executive Office. I want Currys to issue a return authorization immediately so I can drop this item off at my local Kettering branch for a full refund. (Receipt Number: 068921)
