My Experience with FileRetrieval.com

I had a very good experience dealing with FileRetrieval.com: I wanted to present my phone’s SMS record as evidence in a court case where one of my tenants is suing me because allegedly I did not fix a leak after she informed it to me. My defense was to show that I had a conversation with this tenant via SMS days before she called the city to put up a complain and that she did not mention anything about leaks even after I asked her if everything was alright at her house. This tenant told me that everything was alright except for the door lack at her apartment. I lost that SMS conversation because the phone data recycling, not because I deleted it. I knew the conversation was there, I just could not see it.
I sent my phone to FileRetrieval.com. I paid $249 for the diagnostic process. I paid the diagnostic because I want it right away, but Fileretrieval.com told me that if I wait 4 weeks the diagnostic is free. Fileretrieval.com sent FedEx to pickup my phone from home, and within one week I received a big envelope with a report of the diagnostic process. It described thousands of SMS messages, call logs, os, videos and photos I had in my phone….Most important, this report point out that Fileretrieval.com could retrieve that conversation I had with this bad tenant. I immediately called Fileretrieval.com I agreed on going to the next step which is actually retrieving the files. They Sent me a USB memory stick with all files I needed, and a certification of authentication that is valid in court.
As a result, I was able to show the court that this tenant never told me there was a leak. Therefore, I was not negligent in doing the necessary repairs at my building, and the case was dismissed. I also told the court the repairs are already completed.
In my opinion Fileretrieval.com provides a good service to the public because we, the little people, could never force Telephone companies to help us to retrieve deleted files from phones. They help the government, yes, but not the public. Only companies like Fileretrieval could help us retrieving phone record.
I give Fiveretrieval.com 10 out of 10 stars.

computer hell

I was recently in computer hell, recovering from an unbelievable crash - a total of 3 drives going down ~ 2 internal studio computer drives that needed to be clean installed and my main external backup drive as well! It happened on Oct 3rd and I needed to know if the data from external backup drive (easiest to access) still existed and was it recoverable. I called a few services and Data Retrieval was only to get back to me on the weekend. After negotiating the diagnostic price which ended up being $249 and free pickup, I learned that you can pay more for a faster turnaround time and same with the actual data recovery. But even though I opted for the best price, turnaround time was quick on both the diagnostic Oct 5 and delivery of new drive with 100% data recovered from broken drive Oct 8! The team pulled a few favours for lightning fast recovery and got my price down to just under $1K.

Great Service!

My niece accidentally wiped out my entire laptop, which contained important files. I felt like I wasn't going to be able to retrieve the files again, but a good friend of mine recommended File Retrieval.

I am so happy that such a company exists because I would have probably been fired, if I didn't retrieve my files. The service was great, I was helped in a timely manner and they were able to retrieve my files for me in no time!

Thank you, Data Retrieval for saving my memories!

I’ve been working on a family tree project for nearly two years now. I have collected all sorts of pictures, including birth certificates and other historical documents that are linked to our family. I don’t really know more about computers than how to use them, and I didn’t even know what a backup was until my computer died and my daughter asked where I backed up my pictures. I knew if I had to start all over, I’d never find all the same information for our family tree that I’d found before, so I was ready to give up. My daughter suggested that I try Data Retrieval. I didn’t think I’d be able to afford data recovery, but Info Recovery made it really easy, and was able to help me fit in my data recovery to my budget. Now that I’ve got everything back, I’ll be sure to backup everything (I let my daughter set it up!). Thank you, Data Retrieval, you have no idea what sort of lifesaver you are!

Outstanding

Impressive Service. My hard drive was diagnosed by more than one party at it is physically dead and the chance to retrieve the data was debatable then I came across with File retrieval sales person was helpful he sent me a free FedEx shipping label and offered me a free diagnostic then it all came back to me positively with the capability of getting my data back with a very reasonable price. They made it and it was cool all the important data was there in the cloud, they sent me the way and the link how to download it into my computer. The complete process took only less than two weeks to do all of that. The guys are amazing and customer service is fantastic. Will use them again.

This service saved my life!

So I accidentally dropped a bottle of air freshener on my wife's laptop and it landed right on the hard drive bay, killing the computer completely. She was irate and thought she was going to lose all of her information. (Pictures, videos, work-related material, and even a novel she had written.) Lucky for me I found FIleRetrieval and they saved absolutely everything from the hard drive. I owe my life to FileRetrieval!

Great service!

I came to File Retrieval with an external 1 TB hard drive when it failed to read the drive. I usually back up all my files regularly, but life got in the way. I had some really important artwork (PSDs, JPEGs) files for work on the hard drive, and it was very important for me to retrieve them. I dropped it off at their location and they diagnosed the issue and gave me a quote. They were able to extract all the files and now I have all my artwork back! They have great communication and they get the job done!

Fully satisfied of their work, if it wasn't for a 10% stress though.

File Retrieval was able to recoup files that were 20 years old. They were retrieved from an old desktop Mac, those enormous and super heavy colorful computer of the second half of the 90's. This work happened AFTER I had already taken my computer around to 3 or 4 little computer shops or alleged 'computer experts'. Because of the old model of computer I was afraid that the retrieval would be more difficult. Some people told me to NOT hope. None of the other computer shops was able to anything about it, that's when I started googling and finding File Retrieval. I hadn't read any reviews, I didn't collect much information about them, I just did it. Well, I'm happy I did because they were able to produce results in a very reasonable amount of time.
The reason why I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because of some (useless) stalling on their side on the financial negotiation (yes, negotiation, because they were kind enough to grant a discount) and because of some unnecessary pressure I received just before getting the files in producing some positive reviews.
Anyway, I'm not going to hold it against them, I understand how the ratings might be important to the good health of the company, so I feel totally in favor of recommending their service. They do get the job done.

Job well done!

Great customer service. MY CR walked me through every phase of the date recovery project. Explaining the process and costs.

The tech staff was able recover 100% of the files. Amen.

I will definitely use this vendor again if I find myself in a similar circumstance.

Prompt service

I had an issue with my Macbook so I contacted FileRetrieval for advice. I am not a tech person (that's why I got a Mac) but they explained what the problem was. They successfully transferred all my files to external storage, reinstalled the latest Mac OS, and I have successfully recovered all my artwork files from the last days. Their prompt timing was very essential for me as I was working on a tight deadline

Amazing service!

I had a drive with all of my sister's wedding photos, as well as family holiday videos. When the drive seemed to go dead, I panicked! FileRetrieval saved my bacon by extracting the files so I didn't lose a thing. Their service was fast and efficient, and they helped me understand what was being done.

Lifesaver

It seems like we only think about excellent companies like this when we need them, but this is how it happened for me. I had just finished my thesis (my THESIS!) only to have my computer blue screen on me. I was so upset I sat there and cried for about an hour. Then, I used my phone and just started researching how to get the data off my computer, when I came across File Retrieval. They got back to my panicky email quickly and 24 hours later, my thesis was alive and well with their professional services.

I liked that they were really easy to talk to. They didn't laugh at my hysteria, they kept me calm, in fact. Just a GREAT experience overall and I would really like everyone to know that!

I was very pleased with the service provided and the customer service given by File Retrieval.

I had a external hard drive that would no longer respond when connected to any computer. I took it to a computer repair company. They said they could not get it to work either and charged for the diagnostic. I then took it to the big box appliance/computer store, and they recommended I take it to a data retrieval company. I googled and decided to go with File Retrieval. I contacted them via phone and by the end of the conversation, I had an email with a free pre-shipping label for diagnostic and a case number. I was near one of the local offices and decided to drop it off personally. The young lady that took my device was very friendly and informative. I received a call within 72 hours stating that they would be able to retrieve the information from the hard drive. The cost to retrieve the information was very reasonable. They have assigned a case worker that has informed me of each step of the process. My files were extracted, and I am now awaiting the transfer drive. In the future, I plan on using a cloud based back. which this company offers and is giving me a free trial. However, if I ever need to have any irretrievable files retrieved, I would definitely use the service of this company and recommend it to others . Keep up the good work.

Helps in a Pinch

My laptop has been dragging on despite a serious cooling problem and a few viruses, and yesterday it finally gave me the blue screen of death. I had a few very important files on there that I absolutely needed retrieved but had resigned myself to losing it. I asked a buddy of mine who works in tech if there was anything that could be done and he recommended using this service. They tell you if they can retrieve it free, so with nothing to lose, I sent it in to see if anything could be salvaged. I was kind of anxious about it because I had a few embarrassing pictures on there, but my written documents for school were far more important to me than a little embarrassment.

Long story short, they managed to pull everything I needed and everything was extremely professional. When they told me they could get what I needed I was literally willing to pay anything, but their fee was fairly reasonable. There were a few files on there that were corrupted and they couldn't retrieve, but for the most part, everything was in tact which alleviated my stress considerably. I learned my lesson to keep my files duplicated off my computer, but I've bookmarked File Retrieval just in case I need them again.

Unreliable company

In April sent in my failed laptop hard drive.....company is very quick to take your credit card.....they were unable to retrieve my data....after a longer than promised evaluation period...... and have thus far failed to return my $114 refundable fee.....
Last time I spoke with them (three weeks ago) I had to re-sign my credit card slip (which was basically a new charge slip for the $99 evaluation fee)-- not sure where these favorable reviews come from....but I would definitely not recommend this company

Miracle Workers

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, 32 GB, Verizon model. Precious pictures and videos of my son's first five months were saved to the internal storage of the phone. It's my own fault that I never transferred them over to another device, or moved them to an external SD card, or backed them up through a cloud; regardless, I never thought I could potentially lose them.

One day my son entered the incorrect swipe pattern too many times, triggering an ominous message: "Incorrect PIN. You have ten incorrect attempts remaining before your phone will automatically launch a factory data reset. All data will be lost." Apparently Samsung, in all of its infinite wisdom, made this a DEFAULT setting for its phones (needless to say, I'm never buying a handset from them again).

Anyway, I didn't know my backup PIN and didn't want to risk resetting my phone, so I Googled potential workarounds. In my case, there was absolutely no possible way to access the files remotely (my phone was stock, not rooted, so I couldn't sideload a password wipe; and USB debugging was disabled on the phone before my son locked it, so the ADB method was also out). I was extremely frustrated and nearly had panic attacks at the thought of losing those memories that were literally locked in my phone.

Fortunately I found FileRetrieval after Googling "mobile forensics." I browsed their website and was quickly contacted by one of those "Chat Now" dialog boxes. Don't know if this was a real person or a bot, but I was assured that my problem could be fixed, and that a technician could call me right away. The dialog box made it clear upfront that my cell phone service was not eligible for the free diagnostic, which was unfortunate but nonetheless appreciated from a transparency standpoint.

The technician called me at my requested time, and after describing in detail my exact situation, I was told there was a chance I could get my files back. Recovery wasn't guaranteed, but confidence was expressed that the company had handled this exact issue in the past. This was a relief, but I still wanted to do some research before committing to large fees, so I didn't commit just yet. After checking with competitors who (i) admitted they likely couldn't get around the PIN problem, (ii) would have charged more in the event of successful data recovery, or (iii) a combination of both, I went back to FileRetrieval. The case manager I had, Tyler Diamond, was very patient with my several questions and emails (I literally had 5+ separate calls and 10+ emails that day, which covered specific questions and requested particular assurances). I opted for the $299 Premium service, understanding that this didn't guarantee anything except an expedited diagnosis.

Because FileRetrieval had an office in Los Angeles that was close to my own place of work, I was able to drop off my cell phone instead of FedExing it. The dropoff process on a Wednesday went smoothly, and I eagerly awaited the diagnostic results (6 hours per the Premium Service). The very next day, Tyler called with the great news that the data could be retrieved. Pricing, although pretty steep, was carefully explained to me: a $285 deposit to start the data retrieval attempt, a $719 balance in the event of successful data recovery, and separate charges for (i) transferring the data onto another media device and (ii) returning my original hardware. While I wish the charges would have been less expensive, given my despair earlier in the week, I ultimately didn't mind the high cost for saving my data. So after agreeing to all the charges, work began immediately. I expected an update by Wednesday of the following week, at the earliest (4-6 business days for data recovery, not including weekends, was what the Premium service promised). Again my expectations were surpassed when I was called the following Monday with the news I wanted to hear: all of my pictures and videos were saved, and I'd soon be getting everything returned to me by the end of the week.

Of course you know how the rest of this goes: I got everything back on Wednesday, instead of Friday, and was able to transfer everything from the USB stick that housed the recovered files onto my computer. My phone was returned in the same FedEx package, which had several layers of separate envelopes to cushion the contents. The phone itself looked as if it was carefully handled throughout the process (no damages or scratches anywhere), and turned on just fine when I tested it.

I can't recommend this company strongly enough to anyone who is facing a devastating data loss like I did last week. Was it pricey? Sure. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Were they professional, responsive, transparent, and accommodating? Yes to all of these, and at every stage of the way. While I hope to never encounter this problem again, I know that FileRetrieval is an available resource that can get the job done. I repeat: my problem had no do-it-yourself solution, couldn't be fixed by Samsung OR Verizon OR Google (attempts with all of these companies, whether via website or in-store or over the phone, got me nowhere), and couldn't be fixed by some of FileRetrieval's competitors --- but FileRetrieval was able to live up to all its promises. Can't thank this company enough for all that they were able to do.

great work

Everybody at File Retrieval is extraordinary. One of alternate organizations I sent my drive to made me feel like in the event that I didn't purchase the most lavish thing they could offer me, then there was no reason for purchasing anything by any means. So that is the thing that I did. I didn't purchase anything at all from them, and I sent my crash into File Retrieval for the free diagnostics. Nobody made me feel compelled. It took a short time, yet I recovered all my stuff.
