We went to Dobbies for a look around and also to have a cappuccino and cake. However there was a long queue and because there was only one person serving (taking orders, money and making coffee) it would take some time to disperse. The poor girl is in this position every time we go, she is pleasant and hard working, never seems stressed. We left and went to another garden centre.

I met a friend at Dobbies just out side Stonehouse yesterday, we went into the cafe, there was no coffee due to the machine being out of order. When we went to sit down with our tea and cakes, we were both disgusted with the state of the seats, most of the fabric seats and sofas that were empty were very highly stained and looked dirty, time to recover or replace maybe!! If we hadn’t already paid for our refreshments we would have left.

Restaurant was really slow on service like we was waiting over 30 minutes to get served for a coffee ☹️

Spacious restaurant with helpful staff for a birthday breakfast. The menu suited everyone, wheat free, 5 year old and adults. Many thanks.

At Dobbies, the staff seem happy and are helpful. This time of year Dobbies have loads of Christmas gifts and ideas, at reasonable prices too.

Wanted to know about a pest control for our new lawn, the Dobbies colleague was very knowledgeable and helpful, giving us lots of information and solutions, one of the solutions was an inexpensive eco friendly option that would help solve the problem and feed the birds too.

As always we enjoyed our visit and made good use of the restaurant, as well as purchasing various gardening tools and plants.

During this visit I used the restaurant and bought some Hotel Chocolates and a toy for a 2 year old. I was very satisfied that I had got what I was looking for and all at reasonable prices.

All the staff are very helpful and friendly, including the restaurant and the checkout staff

We booked a festive afternoon tea at Dobbies Gloucester today and it was truly dreadful! No decoration on table not even a potted plant or pretty napkin, no music and zero atmosphere. It was cold with heating barely detectable. When the food arrived it was delivered on separate plates which we had to help load onto the standard afternoon tea stands. The sandwiches were on thick bread and only a very small area of the bread had spread. The fillings were pretty much non existent. Scones were stale and hard and had a weird fizzing/ burning after taste and tart pastry was hard and stale. There was an area which had a Christmas tree and a little atmosphere but we were told we couldn’t sit there because it was needed for an evening event and festive afternoon tea was not considered ‘an even’ The whole experience was awful and the food inedible. We spoke to a waitress who told us two chefs had just left and they only had a trainee. Additionally several waitresses had also left due to low wages - they only pay basic minimum apparently. The waiting staff who remained were trying their best but stood no chance. Another large group also had the same experience but said they wouldn’t complain, they’d just not return. My advice is to cancel if you’ve booked for this asap. Additionally the toilet area was badly in need of maintenance with gaps around the walls and toilets not flushing properly. Having read previous bad reviews the standard response seems to be ‘ tell us more and we’ll pass it on to the local management team’ Please don’t do that to me, these issues are down to company policy of poor pay and cost cutting which cannot be dealt with locally. In store staff are clearly having a tough time.

Fantastic experience at Gloucester branch..... Bought some love Xmas ornaments on the late night shopping and enjoy and fantastic meal in the restaurant......

I am very sorry to say your frozen dog food is almost empty I asked when it would be restocked and was told they could not tell me it is so convenient for me to buy my dog food from your Gloucester garden centre.

The food in the restaurant was hot, fresh and tasty and the waiting staff were friendly and professional. Having 20% off everything we purchased was a great incentive to buy more products. There was a lovely Christmas display and we also purchased items from the inshore Works store.

Very helpful staff. Polite and knowledgeable with extra ideas for example on managing store cards.
