I booked a car last minute from…
I booked a car last minute from Drivalia’s Manchester branch in August 2026 and honestly had such a positive experience.
After having a really stressful experience with another car rental company,I decided to review the place that was good too.
I was especially impressed by how straightforward everything was with Drivalia. I paid for the No Stress insurance, and the whole process was smooth and reassuring from the beginning.
The guy at reception was genuinely nice, helpful and professional, which made the whole experience even better. Everything felt clear and hassle-free, exactly what you want when renting a car.
I’m actually writing this review because of how different my experience with Drivalia was compared to another rental company I recently used. It reminded me how much a good rental experience depends on clear communication and helpful staff.
I’ll definitely be coming back to Drivalia in the future. Thank you for making the experience so easy!

Picked my car up from Manchester City…
Picked my car up from Manchester City branch as they had the car I wanted in . I was stuck in traffic and Sully the manager arranged a member of staff to stay open late so I could collect the car . Great guys , great service and cars .🤝

Brilliant all round service
Brilliant service. I keep hiring cars from Drivalia because the customer service is the best of all the rental companies I’ve used before. There’s no fuss when you return the car, they’ll give you an upgrade if they have a car available, and the prices are always good. It’s also nice to see familiar faces every time I come in. Sully’s a good man at the Manchester City branch

Absolutely terrible experience
Absolutely terrible experience. Was 2hrs late because of delays in the baggage pick up and when I turned up I was told that my car had been given away. I was then charged £288 (more than the entire price of the original rental) to collect another car. This was with Drivalia. I have never had this experience before with 10-15 other car rentals and I think they’re running an absolute scam. The manager was completely unhelpful and seemed to be enjoying the fact I was so put out. Avoid Drivalia at all costs, I’m completely disgusted by their actions.
Edit - thanks for your generic and completely unhelpful reply. I had already paid for the car so the idea you would charge someone else so you can be paid is completely false. My check in time was also recorded inaccurately 1.5 hours later than is true - recording me at 3.5 hrs late rather than 2hrs. I suspect you never had the car to begin with and used this as a convenient excuse to charge me rather than doing the gracious thing and providing me with an alternative car for free. I would urge everyone to avoid this company at all costs!
I invite you to do the decent thing and refund me!

Grace Period: We hold bookings for a maximum of 2 hours during branch opening hours. If you are going to be late, we ask that you notify the branch of your estimated arrival time.
Vehicle Hold: We can only hold a specific booked vehicle for a maximum of 1 hour past the booked collection time. After this point, clients may be offered an alternative vehicle category (subject to availability), and charges may apply.
Failure to Collect: Customers who fail to arrive on the day of collection are marked as a ‘No Show’ and charged up to 3 days rental. Please note that prepaid bookings are non-refundable.
If you require any further information regarding your booking or this process, please contact us through the Manage My Booking portal on the Drivalia.co.uk website.

I'm very disappointed with this…
I'm very disappointed with this company, and I certainly do not recommend it.
We arrived just one hour later than the scheduled pick-up time, and they tried to charge us an additional fee equal to the entire rental cost. They were completely unwilling to help or show any flexibility.
As a result, we lost our money, couldn't rent the car, and our holiday in Manchester was ruined. I'm truly sorry and still can't understand why they treated us this way over just one hour.
I would never use this company again, and I would advise others to think twice before booking with them.
