Worst remortgage experience
One of the worst remortgaging experiences I've ever had to endure.
Asked for an update on our process, and it took over 4 weeks until we heard something. When we got a reply, it was a simple one sentence message asking us to supply a NHBC 6 days before our current mortgage deal was up. Had to make a formal complaint regarding the entire situation for them to finally give me an idea of what was actually happening.
Also had multiple agents on their live chat tell me one thing, and then another person tell me the complete opposite, like there is no communication between staff members or anything.
Spoke the Santander in regards to the poor service (as we had to use these guys through no choice of our own) and apparently, we're not the first to complain about it.
To give credit where credit is due, our mortgage is for a shared ownership property, so they are probably more complex, but it doesn't excuse the dreadful communication, last minute requests and overall confusing process.
The case portal is okay for keeping documents together, but it feels like some staff members don't even use it, so you end up having to communicate over other channels to ensure documents are being received. Really messy.
Overall, Enact really let us down and if I ever have the choice to pick a firm to help with our remortgage, these guys will be my absolute last resort.

I have just remortgaged a property…
I have just remortgaged a property through Enact and fortunately I have been helped along the way by Bethany Stead. The processes aren't easy but with Bethany's help I managed to complete all the requirements quickly. The whole process has only taken 3 - 4 weeks, the last time I remortgaged one of my properties, with another company, it took almost 3 months. Thank you Bethany.

Appalling service
Appalling service, so disappointing. I’ve used enact several times in the past but standards have majorly slipped. Now, you don’t even get a conveyancer from the start, you get an incompetent admin bod. Asked for management pack to be ordered, not done for months, then denied it hadn’t been done, then asked for solicitor details on the other side… two months wasted in transaction time and mortgage payments. Had to let them go as it was clear there was no one capable of doing the transaction with any competence. Avoid.

I've had negative experiences with online conveyancers in the past, but Enact were great from start to finish - efficient to answer queries and moved the process along very quickly. Would not hesitate to recommend them or deal with them again.

Great service, would use them again
We worked with them as part of our mortgage renewal (with firstdirect) and we found Enact to be very well organized (the website is easy to use, easy to understand what is required of you) and the responsiveness (via the built-in messaging system) was great - with usually getting a response in just a couple of hours. Application was quick, painless, they gave us some needed directions and all was successfully completed on time. Would definitely use them again, much better than the ones we used for our initial application.
