Do not use Eon for solar panels

We had solar panels installed at the start of last year. After numerous no-shows and cancellations, similar to previous reviews, communication was terrible. We had scaffolding up at our property for 4 months before the install even started, and when it did start, one side of the roof was installed before they realised the other side had sarking boards and therefore was not compatible with the panel install. This failed to be picked up in the survey because the surveyor told us he was new to the job and had no experience. We waited 6 weeks before Mick Moore came to our house to explain the reason the installation had not been completed. At that stage, we were advised to get new roof batons on and were promised that we would be fairly compensated for the error which was completely at the failure of Eon Install. We paid out £3,000 for the roof, work that was only required for the panels to be installed. With three children under 5 in the house, we felt we had no other option. The alternative would be to have the 5 panels already installed removed, alongside the batteries and fuse boards which would have left extensive damage to our property. Now we're still trying to get a fair level of compensation as we were promised at the time. We were offered £150 and then got the silent treatment when we asked to have a fairer discussion. Mick Moore is not responding to emails. We now have Emma Rose communicating with us, who is trying to help but we're now getting no response again. Do not use this company for solar panels. Go direct to the companies that actually do the installs. If we had been given an accurate survey, we would have not gone ahead at the time due to the additional cost of the roof batons.

ZERO STARS AVOID

If I could give no stars it would be more accurate.

I had a boiler installed by Eon January 2022 and it took 13 months to have a system that works, multiple phone calls, total lack of respect from staff, I have been blatantly lied to, mis sold, over charged and so much more.

I have of course complained to them, had a totally unsatisfactory response, taken it higher to the Utilities ADR who have taken 5 MONTHS to respond yet again with "while I have read the complaint in full its not my job to respond to all of the issues" WHAT!! if its not Eon and its not the utilities ADR then it must be acceptable to provide and more to the point charge for a service that does not work or care about the end user.

Please avoid at all costs

14 months of stress

We signed up for solar panels in February 2022 and finally had them installed in April 2023. We had 4 cancelled installation dates during the wait. Very little communication was received other than when we chased for updates. It is incredibly difficult to get to speak with anyone at Eon. The only 2 people of any worth at the company, who actually do what they tell you they are going to do, are Ashley Blenkinsop (customer care) and Sarah Mullarker (customer resolution manager). Ryan Kerby, the solar and storage consultant never replied to any of our email communications once we had signed on the dotted line with him in February 2022. Now that the panels are installed, we are thrilled with the product but we would never recommend anyone go through with a purchase with Eon unless you are prepared to wait, be let down and have no communications with regards to cancellation dates. We wouldn’t want anyone to go through the stress we have endured during this whole process. On visiting the ‘Fully charged’ show in April, the Eon stand was maned by solar experts who stated that an install would happen within 6 months…….clearly this is a blatant lie!!!

Don't get solar panels!

I've waited a nearly a year since first enquiring (April 2022) to the install of solar panels and still have none.

Very little comunication from Eon during the whole process and very difficult to get hold of.

The first install date they gave me in on Decemeber 2022 and no one showed up!

Second Install date was in January 2023, they came and found my roof needed to be fixed as their was rott. (This should of been picked up on the survey - Insatll team said this to me).

It was agreed I get the roof fixed and they would come back.

I've managed to get the roof fixed within a few weeks of them coming and called Eon to rearrage the installation, only to be told its been terminated including the finance agreement and no reason or by whom can be given.

Save money and go with a local installer, cheaper and friendlier!

Absolute waste of time.

BTW Trust pilot they are adverising 4 stars on their website

EON couldn't install a boiler even if it was their business.

Sent an engineer to install a boiler that then didn't know how to wire it to the programmer.

Sent an electrician 3 days later who didn't know what he was doing. After 35 mins told me it was all wired and working correctly then left. But it wasn't.

Spoke to customer services to explain I am on day 6 with no heating and have 3 children in the property. They didn't care and told me someone would call back in 2-3 days.

They refused to compensate me for buying electric heaters or to put us up in a hotel while we have no heating.

Shared this on Twitter and the customer service team on Twitter got in touch to try help. But all they did was tell me to call customer services.

Still have no resolution or any idea of when I will get one.

They falsely advertise a higher Trustpilot score on their website.

The most disrespectful company I have…

The most disrespectful company I have ever dealt with.
Do not reply to emails
Do not reply to complaints
Do not explain the pros and cons of positioning of instillations and how it effects your heating bill
Do not give a damn about the customer
Do not use.!!!!!!

Absolutely disgraceful lack of customer…

Absolutely disgraceful lack of customer support regarding my complaint. I had a boiler move and they
Installed the flue incorrectly
Broke roof tile and render
Charged me for items that were never installed
Left bare electrical cables

Once I managed to get them out to repair the problems they caused. They offered a pittance compensation
£5 for a broken tile, £5 for exposed electric wires. Basically in total the princely sum of £80 for all the nightmare and stress they caused me. They also tried to hide the fact that they charged me for items and didn’t install a lot of items, mag filter, scale filter, flue extension kit. If I hadn’t had noticed then they would’ve kept the money.
I lost a day’s pay due to their ineptitude and their answer “if you don’t like it - go to the ombudsman”. They closed the complaint and due to the fact they upheld the complaint and didn’t reject it - the ombudsman will not get involved.
Avoid like the plague and go with a local fitter.

Customer service non existent AVOID

After an initial survey, where we were told there would be two approaches for some extra work (replacement radiator & newly installed radiator -we apparently needed) alongside a boiler replacement. The surveyor would price for the more expensive route and hopefully we wouldn’t have to go this way (they didn’t). The work would take a day and a half we were told. Problems arose on the second day when the engineer had an issue with my existing pipe work - Did I really need to replace my radiator at all or was the pipe work the issue he wondered? He was working until after 10pm. He installed a factory damaged radiator, which he reported straight away, I commented on it, when signing for the work. Both my husband and I made several calls to the installation company and EON. The response was “is your heating working?” Only to be told a months wait to replace the unsightly radiator - that I probably didn’t need anyway. My husband having to take another unpaid day off work. Oh and it has been three months and still waiting. Wish I had read the reviews on other sites first before using this shambolic outfit
