I have travelled they telling me you have both vintage wrong category witches they ask me to give them the number plate which is I have provided so how it could be a wrong category that’s their job to confirm which category my car is how will I know it

Disgrace of a company, using underhand tactics and different PCN numbers to try and deceive the customer into thinking they haven't paid the toll when they have. Disgusting. Does the government even give a dam that companies like this exist?

Fine Despite Valid Vignette Purchase
I purchased a Hungarian e-vignette through the official app, carefully entering my vehicle details, dates, and completing payment.
Two months passed before I received a penalty notice. Only then, checking my email confirmation, did I notice the country code was wrong - despite being absolutely sure I entered it correctly.
Drivers who pay for valid vignettes shouldn't be fined due to potential app glitches or unclear input validation. Yet here I am, forced to navigate a lengthy dispute process...

Fick faktura för en vägavgift i Norge som betalades direkt.
Fick sedan en påminnelseavgift (över 200 spänn), och då ser jag att jag skrivit de två sista siffrorna på OCR-numret fel, men fakturan är ju betald. Kan man kontakta företaget på något smidigt sätt för att meddela detta, så att de kan makulera påminnelsen? Nej.
Att skicka in ett ärende var osmidigt och att få svar på ärendet kommer ta över 20 dagar. Det var bara därför att betala fakturan (igen) + betala påminnelseavgiften. För om jag inte betalar så går ju även den fakturan ut.
Helt galet oseriöst att inte kunna lösa detta snabbt och smidigt. Och att ta emot och behålla en betalning som man inte kan hitta referens till.

Travelled 18th and 19th June 2025. Had no account to pay for the Dartford Tunnel crossing so I phone Dart Charge call center. They took my Visa card details and I agreed they could book the amount for the crossings (total 5 pounds). In October I receive a pentaly notice for both crossings (37.50 pounds each). I phoned Dart Charge several times. They found the payment they had booked it incorrectly. I still had to contact several times. Sent a Objection letter to EPC plc also stating my Visa payment. The whole experience, on-line, poor quality call center, and difficulty finding out if the penalty noticies have been cancelled was /is very stressfull. In all a poor system: The service provider has pushed the collection of monies to a private company and there seems to be little or no communication between them. If you can keep away from the Dartford Tunnel and EPC plc.

I got a letter from Spain with a fine from the English company because they claim I had not paid the toll during my visit to Hungary but I did and I have a receipt for it. I called them and I barely heard anything from the automatic playback and my English is not that good either! On their website it says you can ask someone in your own language but I couldn't get through! The person who answered asked me what the problem was so I told them as much as I could and asked for someone who speaks Swedish or Hungarian but he just said 14 days 14 days and hung up. This is a real mafia conspiracy Warning to everyone! Don't go to Hungary by car It's worse it was under communism in the 80s The EU is terrorizing us from England from a non-EU country that sends letters from Spain and claims something that is not true!! My mistake was that I downloaded an app and paid through it and I know that I filled in the correct information regarding the country where the car is registered and yet it turned out that the app overwrote it to Hungarian registration numbers. That's how they do it! Be careful! Only go there if you have to but be careful and as I said it's worse than in the 80s in both Hungary and communist England. Now I have to pay again, thanks for that but never again Hungary!
Positiver Mailkontakt mit der Fa. EPCPLC
Ich muss hier auch einmal von einer positiven Reaktion der Firma EPC berichten.
Im Juni 2025 befuhr ich aus Unkenntnis der Zahlungsmodalitäten über die A 282 Dartford-Thurrock Crossing in England, beglich diese dann natürlich auch innerhalb der 24 Stunden über das Internet nicht.
Nach Urlaubsende bekam ich schon eine Mahnung mit erheblichen Gebühren (über 80 Euro).
Darauf habe ich auf der Homepage EPCPLC einen Einspruch eingereicht(kein erstes Schreiben/Zahlungsaufforderung bekommen) der auch sehr zeitnah und freundlich beantwortet wurde.
Inhalt der Antwort war, dass ein neuer Titel mit dem Vergehen erstellt wird.
Auch dieses passierte zeitnah, in dem Schreiben wurde darauf hingewiesen, dass wenn ich das normale Entgelt( ca. 3 Euro) für die Brücke innerhalb von 14 Tagen zahle (was ich sofort tat), jegliche Mahn-u. Strafgebühren damit erledigt sind, danach werden je nach Verzug erhebliche Kosten dazu kommen.
Daher teile ich nicht die vielen negativen Kommentare.
Natürlich ist das kleine Schild vor der Überquerung der Brücke schnell zu übersehen, aber ich werde mich aufgrund dieser Erfahrung etwas mehr mit den Gegebenheiten meines Urlaublandes beschäftigen.

Absolutely horrendous company to deal with. I received a fine in May, which I paid within 3 days. Yet despite this, they continue to send me ever increasing fines. I have emailed them proof of payment and called them several times. They promise to have a supervisor call me back, but they never do. Last time I requested to speak to a supervisor and the operator flat out refused to transfer me. Still waiting on a call back, months later. If I could give them less than zero I would.

Auf direkte Antwort einer Maut in Norwegen, die angeblich nicht gezahlt wurde, wird nicht geantwortet. Trotz schriftlicher Nachweise, dass diese bereits bezahlt wurde wird nicht reagiert. Dann wird behauptet weitere Mahnungen verschickt zu haben, die nicht einmal ankamen und der Betrag steigt natürlich. So eine unfaire und dreiste Arbeit habe ich noch nie erlebt. Man verzweifelt richtig und muss am Ende nicht nur doppelt sondern mittlerweile 3 Fach so viel zahlen.

I got 3 notices from Hungary. Unfornutalety, in august 2024 while travelling through Hungary I bought the vignette by putting the wrong car license number.
I received the notices one year later (summer 2025):

I answered you on the 1st August 2025 by sending the e-vignette from 2024 together with other information to demand for the correction of the vignette.
However, I only got an answer from you at mid september 2025 and your letter was dated on 8th august. It took more than one month to get a feedback from you. Now I just sent you the additional info you requested. How can it be that there is no quick and smooth way to get in touch with you.

Unfair and unjust system
Received 2 toll charges for tolls that I had already paid at the time of using the toll bridge. Pain the first one (£7) thinking I'd made a mistake for my Southbound journey. Did not get any initial warning for my Northbound journey and the first notice I had was a £50 charge of admin fees without any prior letter or notice?!

Wir parkten auf einem großen Parkplatz in Uttakleif auf den Lofoten. Nach ca. 2 Monaten erhielten wir die Rechnung: 36,17 €! Die eigentlichen Parkgebühren lagen bei 5.36. Der Rest waren "Administrative Gebühren". Eine Unverschämtheit, gegen die man von zuhause aus keine Chance hat.

Buongiorno, sono stato multato in Ungheria il 05/10/2024 (numero di pratica 36022-100547580 e 36022-100547581) per ``mancanza`` di vignetta elettronica. Tuttavia, la vignetta elettronica è stata acquistata subito dopo l'ingresso nel
Paese. La vignetta era valida fino al 14/10/2024. Sono stato ulteriormente multato al mio ritorno in Ungheria il 07/10/2024 (numero di pratica 36022-100547581), sebbene la vignetta elettronica fosse ancora valida, fino il 14/10/2024.
Ho già compilato un reclamo anche sul vostro sito web e inviato una E- mail, allegando ovviamente anche la ricevuta del avvenuto pagamento per 10 giorni!

Jeg har efter en del måneder fået en opkrævning på vejafgift i Norge, hvor betalingsfristen var tidligere end jeg modtog brevet. Derfor skyndte jeg mig ind på hjemmesiden for at betale, men der var beløbet pludselig på cirka det dobbelte, hvorefter jeg bliver mistænkelig. Jeg skriver derefter til kundeservice hos dem. Det blev gjort den 25.06.2025, men har stadig intet hørt (18.09.2025). Jeg vil såmænd gerne betale det oprindelig beløb, men ikke det ekstra gebyr de har tillagt, fordi jeg ikke har haft chancen for at indbetale det beløb.

On May 9th and 14th 2022, I drove I gather from the EPC invoice, through a toll at Boliqueime, Algarve.
This with a hire car. I always pay the hire company for any tolls due, on returning the car.
On June 18th, 2025, I received an invoice demanding payment of £3.06 p for the Toll. £15.64 adsmin fees, £43.32 for Admin costs. Total Invoice: £62.02.
Never having heard of EPC, I thought the invoice after 37 months to be a scam. I contacted the car hire Company and was told to contact EPC. This I did by 2 telephone calls to 02072889740. Both times they said they would sort it out with Appeals. Yesterday I received another pay now invoice for a £74.45. A further penalty charge of £12.73 for delayed payment. This in spite of my being in touch with a contact at EPC who told me it would be sorted out. The whole company from what I read in other reports seem to operate on a highly immoral plan. Do not tell the client they owe you money until sufficient time has elapsed for EPC to claim penalty costs. Even delay in reply to inital queries and then have the nerve to increase delay payment charges. This Company needs someone to investigate their method of working. Obviously I am just one of many, being taken for a ride by this Company. This is not a way to run a Company and the Directors should be made aware if not already aware. Incompetence at best. Hopefully no more. I have retained copies of all contact with EPC
Shocking contempt for people. Should be out of business.
So so bad. I was issued penalties despite having paid the relevant tolls. This is not the first time this has happened - so I knew not to delete receipts. Even after you provide evidence in the form of receipts these guys will keep issuing and doubling the fines for weeks. When I did manage to eventually speak to someone at EPC Plc about this they told me that none of their systems can "speak to one another" and errors such as this can take months to work out and there is nothing they can do. In the meantime the notices keep coming piling unnecessary pressure on innocent people. Utterly shocking. Whatever public bodies procure these guys to administer on their behalf need to have a good look at themselves.

The Hungarian motorway department will issue random penalties hoping that everyone will pay £106 just to close the case and never mind . How can the system fail and issue penalty when the driver holds by email proof of Paymet?
