After years of buying cars, I've found the whole experience at Evans Halshaw BYD Mansfield to be one of the best. Even thought the dealership is going through a major refit, the staff were very welcoming and I have nothing but praise for Tommy, who went above and beyond to look after me. Within days we had completed a deal and I drove off with a big smile in my new car. Thank you Tommy for looking after me.

I initially left a positive review as I thought id recieved great service. It turns out that once a sale has been made, they speak to you like your a moron or just completely ignore you all together. I bought the car online and soon realised its not suitable for my needs and its actually far to heavy. I've started the unwind process as im entirely entitled to do only to be met by complete black out and being told that basically I have no rights and im not entitled to just drive around for a week to decide if I like it or not!!!!! Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AVOID AT ALLL COSTS!!!!!!!

BYD Mansfield — A faulty car can happen, but the real test is how a dealership handles it. Unfortunately, the after‑sales support and customer service reflected the car’s own reliability, safety, and roadworthiness: consistently poor. Emails went unanswered, promised calls never materialised, and I was passed from one representative to another with no ownership or resolution. Friendly smiles at the start, smoke and mirrors by the end. Right to reject now enacted.

28/2 - replied by e-mail but ignored, typical of the awful service or lack of ANY service.
Traveled over 50 miles, car was still in preparation. Took our deposit with a promise to phone us within 24/48 hours.
No call received, we phoned the garage, BYD Mansfield, to be informed "a fault has been found" it won't be available for at least 3 weeks.
Obviously we were not willing to wait.
Sure they had sold the car to someone else, they could not even be bothered to call us.

Matt Neath did a great job sorting us out with our new car. Really friendly and reassuring when doing the test drive.

If you buy a used car from Evans Halshaw Mansfield don’t expect any form of after sales or customer service absolutely disgusting after sales. One line emails no apologies for not getting back to you, being passed from pillar to post and 3 months to rectify an issue identified at point of sale which they tried to make me claim for on my extended warranty which I would have had to pay for the diagnostics! I travelled from north east as I thought buying from a min dealer would be better than buying from a back street garage but if I’d known what I know now I wouldn’t have bothered! Had better service from smaller garages in past, wouldn’t have anything from here again even if it was free!

We received good service and Tommy was extremely helpful, as we’re older customers, and guided us smoothly through the sale.

I’m a motability customer who had to hand my vehicle back early due to a recall. I ordered a car at a different dealership for a different make of car. I was advised 6 weeks for delivery and after 8 weeks of hearing nothing I rang to ask where my car was, only to be told it hadn’t even been built and I was looking at a further 4-6 weeks minimum. Each month the refund from the deposit on my first car was depleting at a rapid rate and I was well over £1000 out of pocket already, so I needed a car quick. Not to mention my courtesy car didn’t fit my son’s wheelchair in and we had been stuck for months.
I rang Mansfield BYD after I saw a post on a motability Facebook page and spoke to Nathan who I felt not only listened to my unfortunate situation but was sympathetic towards it. He was completely opposite to what I had experienced before, he was genuinely helpful and patient whilst I decided on what it was I exactly wanted to do and at no point did I feel pushed to make a decision.
I had plenty of BYD showrooms closer to me to choose from, but chose to drive over an hour to Mansfield as I felt I knew I would be well looked after and I was. Before I had even stepped foot inside BYD Nathan had sourced me multiple cars that were in the UK for near enough immediate delivery and I was thrilled I actually got a choice of both colour and spec.

I can’t express my gratitude enough to Nathan who is a huge asset to the team at Mansfield and everyone else who was so warm and welcoming. I spent hours in the store sorting a lot of complex paperwork due to my awkward situation and other staff members were great at keeping myself and my disabled 4 year old son occupied whilst we waited.

Thanks again Nathan, we’re really grateful to have dealt with you and my son can experience a day out again now we can fit his wheelchair in the car.

Tommy was really helpful and friendly, not pushy just gave his honest opinion on everything and happy to answer questions. Really nice place as well with lots of different cars

Service from Tommy was great from the start. He was very welcoming and friendly. He answered any questions I had and also gave me lots of information that I hadn’t thought about.

Paul and Tommy were friendly and informative. They gave good advice as we originally arrived to look at a used car but they pointed out the price and benefits of a fully electric car.
They were patient with the hiccups along the purchase route and the handover was thorough.

Tommy Carlin was brilliant from start to finish of the purchase he explained everything and was never pushy to get a sale.
