This crooked, overly priced, American hating, horrible customer service offering company is a joke!!! The prices of the perfumes are insane!!! Perfumes from the 80's and 90's that cost less than $30 in a store, they're wanting over $100.00!! If you're an American, they're extremely rude, hang up in your face, refuse to cancel your membership. This crooked company needs to be banned from America!!!!

It provides details about perfumes, stability, fragrant smell, and perfumes similar to a particular perfume based on the opinions of users, so I find this good.

Way too much fake alts/reviews.

Its just a sales computer programm of perfumes like most forum's are, nothing more nothing less.
Way too much fake (paid) alts/reviews, most reviews doesnt even make sense, its just crap.

I initially loved Fragrantica until I started to become actively involved with the site. After leaving a couple of reviews I realised that they were being deleted. Annoying when you've taken the time to write them and give an honest opinion.

Reading through the forums, I found a post saying that reviews were deleted if down-voted by people, ie, they've hit the thumbs down button on the review. My reviews were stating that I didn't like the particular fragrances and why. Useful information to anyone considering purchasing a fragrance, and the whole point of reviews.

It's an absolutely ridiculous policy and steers bias towards only positive reviews of a fragrance. Not a very honest perspective to give people. So I contacted the company several times about this, only to be ignored. I then noticed that all my forum posts had been deleted and the whole topic on deleted reviews in the forum was removed.

Fragrantica is unfortunately run by completely rude and unscrupulous individuals. I sent them a final email to let them know just how unimpressed I was with them and their website, although it’s obvious that they don’t care. Such a shame as it has great potential but it’s not what it appears to be on the surface. Underneath the glossy exterior is something far less attractive and sinister.

Está guay esta página, puedes ver los ingredientes de los perfumes y hacer búsquedas con diferentes tipos de clasificación como por ejemplo por ingredientes, o por perfumista creador, y eso es muy divertido.
También puedes reseñar y leer reseñas para ver que opina la gente. (No sé si como dicen aquí, si la reseña es negativa quizás te la borren o no, eso no lo sé)

Así que si te gustan los perfumes, recomiendo la página, es muy interesante y divertida. También hay foros por si quieres meterte ahí a hablar o preguntar algo.

This is the best website to go to to find information about perfumes. The only problem is that it is slow

I must admit that I used to visit and write there almost on daily basis, but I had to stop for various reasons.

1. The reviews are biased. The number of bad reviews is sluggish compared to good ones, mostly due to "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" functions on the website. If a review is thumbed down by many people, it will be removed. From my experience over 10 years, if the reviews are not glorifying the holy grail of perfumes therin, they are likely to be thumbed down and removed.

2. Fragrantica is making money out of ads on their website and through merchant links, including eBay, Amazon, etc.. This is a breech of privacy through selling peoples "most searched" perfumes to merchants. Other decent perfume blogs don't do that for a reason.

3. This one is only a spiculation, but through the thumbs-down and removal of "bad reviews" function, I can see fragrantica advertising for the "best perfume ever to be created" by keeping only positive reviews. Now comes the catch, the "best perfume ever" can be easily bought through the links that fragrantica supply of 3rd party merchants.

4. There is minimal supervision and moderation on foul or harassment language, and they claim they cant oversee all reviews.

5. There is no support or help available when they make a mistake or people are harassed on their website. They never replied to any of my emails in the past.

6. There are some reports of Fragrantica staff pushing their own perfumes into the market and sending it to youtubers, only to personally bash them if the youtuber is less than head over heels for that magic potion.

My partner introduced me to the site and I have to say, I love finding out why I love certain perfumes so that I can use the information to help find new ones that I’ll like! It’s also great to see if any will layer nicely to creat a custom scent!

Me gustaría hablar de Fragrantica en español, que es la que utilizo. He de decir que es una página muy intresante, para iniciarse en el mundo de los perfumes, ya que tiene una gran base de datos y un foro con muchos usuarios, para responder o consultar cualquier duda. Lo único que echaría en falta, sería una interacción entre los perfumes de la base de datos, para obtener recomendaciones por notas o poder compararlos y ver que perfumes son similares, sin necesidad de recurrir a las opiniones de los usuarios. Pese a ese pequeño matiz, que en mi humilde opinión sería interesante añadir, sin lugar a dudas, la recomiendo.

I've been a member of Fragrantica for seven years off and on.
As far as reviews you will have younger kids affecting the rating of particular pefurmes in annoying way.
Really, finding reviewers that you respect is helpful. In the end you have to smell and resmell a fragrance to make decision backed by known long time members' reviews.
The forum is fun and informative. People are always there to help.
The owners of this site are wonderful people who take your any concern seriously.
I enjoy Fragrantica.

the very best site with all the info on fragrances. Do not waste your time on other ones, this site is a true knowledge treasure, and there is a forum too! 5 stars all the way.

This is an excellent site to find unbiased information about fragrances.

My one reservation is that some of the reviews are not actually a review of the fragrance but are expressions (by users of the site) of a desire to TRY it. There are also a number of users who write "reviews" which are very long and completely irrelevant; sometimes you have to scroll through reams of rubbish until you find the information you need.

It would be helpful if moderators removed these types of review - but this is a minor criticism of a really useful site.
