Its not the most best app I have used. I seem to be always search for where things are. Unless your money coming is all for Sales, splitting out payments is a pain. Creating a simple bill and telling it where it needs to be paid from seems to multiple clicks down the rabbit hole. Xero is much easier to use than this

Updated 18/03/26 - had to lower the stars. This software has so many limitations. Its 4x as long to do anything. You cannot copy expenditure, you cannot back date anything.

You certainly get what you pay for and if like me its free you spend more time sorting out issues, it might be worth just paying for a subscription like Xero where you can do eveyrthing in half the time.

Quick resonse to call. Megan indentified the problem quickly and implemented the soltion. Problem sloved in minutes. So much better than working through decision tree logic with a bot.

The app is days behind the transactions - so i have to remember what they where - and there are no flexible categories where i can write what it was for specifically - again i wont remember in a years time?

Freeagent is a basic system that works worth bank transfers. If you use Stripe for payments, they reconcile. If you don't, you've got to keep track of payments yourself. It's not great if you run a shop. Best if your transactions are all different amounts, then easier to match on bank feed.

I wasn't using FreeAgent, as it did not support cash basis in the past, but as soon as I learnt it was, I wanted to move across. I'd had an account in the past but I was having problems logging in. FreeAgent support helped very quickly to get me up and running again.

Very polite the two who I spoke with very helpful in my enquiry although my enquiry wasn’t fully resolved the agent said she would pass on my request to their tech people to see if it could be added to the app. But happy with the service I was greeted with

Excellent software to use. I was worried about MTD as I have not grown up with computers and not a natural using them. I must say FreeAgent has been pretty easy and straightforward. Once I gained my confidence there was no stopping me.
I would definitely recommend.

The integration with an existing Payroll package is very poor

I've been using FreeAgent for years, it's so intuitive and easy to use, as someone who finds accounting/bookkeeping neither intuitive nor easy. Recently switched to a different provider because it was slightly cheaper but came back to FreeAgent after a few months because it's just so much better, and the customer service is unbeatable. So quick and easy to chat with someone, which is worth a fortune.

It meets my business Income, Expenditure, Invoicing, Admin, Profit and Loss accounting needs.

Full-featured and easy to use. I can run the finances of my limited company effectively using FA.

I was quite annoyed when I realised MTD was going to mean I'd have to shell out for software but I wish I'd had FreeAgent from when I first started my business. It's brilliant. So easy to use, keeps everything very manageable, especially end of year filings. So impressed.
