Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service from Garry. Armed with my membership number, I popped in to establish how long ago I had bought a pair of boots that appeared to have worn down prematurely. Garry inspected the boots and offered to exchange them for a brand new pair, which surpassed my expectations. It’s a good reminder of the value of face to face service. Thank you very much.

The young lady in the Ilkley store went out of her way to find what I was looking for and searched till she found it. Very helpful for me as I have mobility issues.

Helpful advice from all staff, they went out of their way to find what we needed- very happy with the service. We are members of go outdoors and this makes it extremely good value.

Excellent customer service by staff member "Tia"

Purchased a Peter Storm packaway lightweight waterproof jacket with effectively a 50% G-O-card discount. I cannot praise highly enough the helpful, professional and pleasant service given by "Tia", who offered advice on sizing and alternative options whilst dealing with several customers, as she seemed to be the only (downstairs) member of staff on duty. This sort of intelligent, caring and flexible customer service is something I've not seen in a retail store for a long time, so thank you!

[Added on 18/07/2025] The Peter Storm lightweight waterproof jacket has performed excellently, keeping me dry in some torrential downpours whilst out dog-walking. It's 100% more effective than a previous similar item (not from G-O), whose inner seams disintegrated within an hour of their first exposure to heavy rain. Great value for money, thanks.

Purchased a new pair of Merrell walking shoes today and was helped and served by very helpful young man called Billy.

Carabiners

Helpful staff shame about the carabiners you sell which are a complete waste of money. The one I bought lasted less than 5 minutes no stronger than a paper clip!

I went into the Ilkley shop looking for…

I went into the Ilkley shop looking for a raincoat. I found one which I liked. I was served by Kerry billy and Garry they were very friendly and helpful as I had to renew my discount card Ilkley is a very nice shop to visit

Great Express Store

Fantastic Customer Service, good selection of clothing and accessories, including sale items, for a relatively small store.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff (Harry, John and Garry) and my husband and I purchased an item today, both were an exceptional price for the quality of the items.
