I visited MK store a couple of weeks ago as I needed a part for my airtent pump. I was helped by James E who spent time with me going through all the attachments and sizes. He very kindly gave me a replacement from the store cupboard. I didn’t expect that and really appreciated it as I didn’t need to buy the whole thing. Thank you James :)

Very disappointing after-sales service…
Very disappointing after-sales service at GO Outdoors Milton Keynes. If your purchase has no problems, everything seems fine. However, when an issue occurs, my experience was completely different and the true level of customer service became apparent.
In particular, I was very disappointed with the manager’s approach. I felt that more concern was shown about dealing with the defective item and potentially putting it back on sale than about making sure the customer was happy and finding a reasonable solution.
I understand that stores have policies, but good customer service is about listening to the customer and trying to resolve genuine problems fairly. Unfortunately, I did not feel that happened here. I would advise customers to think carefully before buying an expensive item from this particular store, especially when after-sales support is importan

Visited the store today to buy…waterproofs
Visited the store today to buy waterproofs for my children. Asked a member of staff if there were any more children's waterproof trousers anywhere else as there were only a few pairs in the children's section, to be told these were the only ones. By the till we found a whole display of both trousers and coats with about 100 pairs. Not very helpful.

Wanted to upgrade our tent, was looking at two in particular. Relatively novice campers so asked for advise. James helped us, his knowledge and advice were so helpful. Gave us a few camping tips too. Really nice guy, personable, knowledgeable and friendly. Got what we wanted and a few extra bits and came away happy customers.

Was helped with the tents
Was helped with the tents. Bloke was very knowledgable and even tried helping with a customer collection issue! Served by Daniele paolucci who was very nice and friendly and was kind and let me leave a 30kg tent behind the till whilst I browsed the fishing gear

Great shopping experience
Easy to find, good parking, amazingly large store with many bits of kit open and available to try. Including - chairs, sleeping bags, air mattresses etc. and the tents are fully setup instore and outside on artificial grass. Wow. Very helpful staff, no pressure selling. A thoroughly enjoyable shopping experience. Saved at least £94 off items purchased. Very happy, quality products. Thank you.

Membership scheme isn't great
Their membership scheme is a bit of an annoyance as you have to pay for it every year simply to get prices that match other shops. The system itself isn't very slick - I ordered as part of an online purchase, and I've been given a number but not a physical or e-card - so I have to log it (and the purchase date) for future use.
