The Indoor Air Propelled Bowling Game. They sent incorrect item. They ruined a Christmas gift. I returned it literally last year and they still won't refund, and have not said sorry.
Writing this review while I wait on hold to speak to YET ANOTHER Hammacher Schlemmer customer service representative. I placed on order for a monogrammed turkish robe on Dec. 14, 2020. I was assured by the site that this was enough time time to receive the robe for Christmas. 4 days before Christmas I called to check the status and was told it would be on my doorstep by 9pm christmas eve. It wasn't. Called the following Mon and was told it was on the shipping dock ready to be loaded and delivered. Called again a week later and was told that it had just been "picked" for monogramming. When asked why I had been told that it was ready for delivery the week before I was told that the robe "is delivered" from a different company, THEN sent to the monogrammer and THEN would be shipped to me as soon as it had been monogrammed -but they could not tell me how long that would be. Called 5 days later to check the status of monogramming and was told they would have the monogrammer send me an email. 2 days later I received an email from HS stating that they could not proceed with the order because my credit card had been denied. Called the customer service number provided to question this ( I suspected it was just another stalling technique) as it was the same credit card I have been using without issue everyday. I asked to have the status of my robe checked first and was told that the robe manufacturer was backed up and the robes were scheduled to be shipped within the next 24 hours to the monogrammers. There was no way for HS to tell me when I could expect to actually receive the product but that I would need to provide them with a new credit card in order to keep the order moving. I asked the customer service rep to remind me which card I had originally provided and confirmed that it is indeed the same card I use on a daily basis with no issues. I told her I had had enough of their dishonesty and I wanted to cancel the order all together. I also stated that I wanted an email confirming the cancellation. I was put on hold for a few minutes and then told that they would put in "a request" for cancellation and I would receive an email "confirming the request." I suspect this does not mean my time dealing with HS is over. I am imagining that I will be receiving an email telling me that a personalized product cannot be returned or cancelled even though the customer service rep stated that the monogrammer has not even received the robes to begin monogramming the orders. I will be checking my credit card statements to make sure as I do not trust this company any longer. Such a disappointment! I wish I had seen the other reviews before ordering from HS but I have ordered products from them in the past and had no issues. It seems they have really gone downhill! I would not be surprised to see this company close down. I will provide an update if this goes any further.
I wouldn't even give these guys any stars if I could. My story is the exact same as everyone else here. Ordered a truck for my little guy and they ended up sending me a bookshelf, so as soon and I got it I called and told them I received the wrong item well the lady on the phone said they'd be getting me the correct one and to leave the bookshelf on my deck and someone would come pick it up. Well three weeks later and a week before Xmas the things still sitting there. I called back they said oh your in Canada we don't do pickups there so you gotta drop it off. We'll the lady the first time I called asked me for my address how daft are you. To boot now the truck for my son is discountined and they have no more so I had to reorder from another retailer. Sent the bookshelf back and got the refund for the truck but not the shipping. They are a complete scam. I am super frustrated with this joke of a company.
This is a very dishonest company. My total purchases were right around $1900. They have already charged me over $2500 and not all my merchandise has been delivered. They gave me some lame excuse that they "put a hold" on your account until the merchandise is shipped, absolutely false! Don't ever buy anything from this company!
I have never written a review until now! I wish I could give them zero stars! By far the worst and shadiest company on the planet! I bought a table top tree. It took a month to get it and it was shattered. They no longer carry this item and were going to let me return it but I had to pay for the shipping (how ridiculous)!! I finally got them to refund the shipping. When I called to find out where my refund was (2 weeks later) they said they would request a refund. If I had not called to get it they would not have refunded it! Totally shady! What a horrible company!!! DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!
We purchased the bed pillow lounger, knee pillow, & shoulder brace. All were returned as they were not effective, not helpful & requested a refund. Cost was Over $440, returned 11/30/20, they received items by 12/7/20 & 12/14/20 confirmed by fed ex. 1st phone call to customer service: "they would waive shipping return fee." Email to me: they "are processing refund 12/28/20. 1/6/21: I call (Jessica)& email, I want refund.
1/7/21: they email (Cheyenne), ask for tracking info, "pkgs not processed."
1/8/21: they email (Maiva) says 3 gift certificates were sent email to me 12/28/20.

Placed an order on Dec 19 for an item that was in stock and available to be shipped immediately on their website, and it did not ship until January 5. Asked customer service for a refund before it shipped and they denied it.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY I ordered a turkish bathrobe as a Xmas present for my husband. That was on November 9, 2020. As of January 5, 2021, I still have not received it. They tracked the package to the US/Canada border on December 7, 2020 and have no idea what courier service picked it up or where it has been for the last month. I have no idea when or if I will receive the package and by the way, the charge went through on my credit card on December 4, 2020. They can't help at customer service. I keep receiving emails to rate the purchase. I commented that I was still waiting to receive the purchase therefore, unable to rate it. They responded by saying they could not post my comment since it was not about the bathrobe. I think it's all about the bathrobe making it's way to me on foot !! UPDATE ON Januray 20, 2021 - they have declared the turkish robe missing. They have no idea where it went after it crossed the border. They have refunded part of the amount and NOT the shipping and border cost. I am missing 30US dollars. I argued with them that since I did not receive the item, why should I pay for shipping and border ? I paid 30US dollars for my experience with this awful company. Never again.
Fraudulent advertising related to when you can expect your order to arrive... totally misleading and a total money grab... take your business anywhere else. A Russian bot is more transparent then Hammacher Schlemmer and their Customer Service response is pathetic (an infant can provide more meaningful information).

This was the WORST purchase & customer service experience I've ever had in my life. My order consisted of multiple items for Christmas. One was canceled out of the blue. Another delayed until after Christmas. This R\C snowplow was a gift my son had specifically asked for from Santa & I was excited to get it. Instead I was sent a cheaper car for a younger child desire the packing slip listing the correct item. Obviously the person packing didn't care. What was worse was calling customer service about the issue. I was directly insulted by the employee I spoke with who refused to help. He told me he'd arrange for the correct item to be shipped & when I explained that doesn't help that I will have nothing to give my son on Christmas Day he told me to give him the car I received and then to TAKE BACK THE GIFT I'd GIVEN MY CHILD AND REPLACE IT WITH THE CORRECT ONE IN 2-3 WEEKS WHEN I RECEIVE IT!!!! Who does that!?!? How UNPROFESSIONAL this company is!!!! They will make the customer responsible for their mistakes. TAKE HEED! Sadly I've known this company all my life and after the totally disrespectful way in which I was spoken to I WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.
Hammacher Schlemmer is easily the worst company I have ever dealt with online. Never will they get my business again. My biggest regret was not first reading the myriad reviews that carry one basic but critical message: Don’t do business with this outfit. Stay away from it. My roughly $130 purchase still hasn’t arrived and I ordered it approximately a week before Christmas ... while being coaxed into paying for what I consider to be fraudulent three-day shipping. Many other companies that I ordered from online dealt with the same shipping challenges and they performed magnificently and on time. What is even more aggravating and inexcusable is that Hammacher doesn’t provide tracking information on the package, which in 2021 is ridiculously inept and negligent. No idea on the status of the shipment. But they continue to pepper me with emails trying to drum up additional purchases. This may be a unique and historic company but it appears to operate like a borderline scam to lure first-time customers with the realization they’ll lose them in the future due to pathetically poor customer service. And I admittedly haven’t even bothered to email or call them because based on other reviews, it won’t do any good and will only annoy me further. Ordering from this company has been the only truly dissatisfying part of the holiday season.
Their website advertised free shipping because of the amount of my order. Not true. I found out after I placed my order that I had to pay $18 for shipping and after receiving my order (which took almost a month) I had to submit paperwork to get the free shipping. Took over 3 weeks for them to approve my request and today I found out that I do not get my money back but award points for the amount on a future order. Well, I will never place another order with this turkey company. Not worth dealing with them.
Ordered an item on 12/13 for Christmas. Even with this year's shipping delays, most companies online are guaranteeing Christmas delivery with orders up to 12/17 or 18. Many other companies are also offering free or reasonable shipping costs. H-S charged $23.95 for shipping and something called "service". I decided to go ahead and pay because I really wanted this item for my husband for Christmas and because, to me, if I'm paying almost $25 for shipping (for a sweater for goodness sake!), then I'm certain to get my item by December 24th, right? Nope. After zero communication, I finally get an email with a tracking number that tells my my item will arrive on 12/28. 12/28!!!! Having been ordered on 12/13 and with a $23.95 shipping fee. Absolutely ridiculous. Somehow, REI, LL Bean, Orvis, and EVERY other vendor I ordered from has managed to get my gifts to me on time without charging $23.95. And don't even get me started on the completely USELESS customer service 1-800 number. I will never be ordering from H-S again, and I highly recommend no one else does either.
I was looking for storage for my vinyl records. There is one which is basically cubes , like the ikea ones. It holds 800 records.... so nothing small but nothing huge either. Price ?

I ordered the 7 1/2' "Thousand Points of Light" tree on November 28th. In those three weeks, I've checked the status numerous times, and it always said "In process". Today, I reconciled my bank account and found that the transaction had been removed. I checked the order status and it still said "In process".
So, I called them today to find out what was going on and, allegedly, the tree was sold out, even though it was still available when I ordered it. I never once got a single update via email as to the status, and if I hadn't noticed that the transaction was gone from my bank account, I guess I would have been just left wondering, indefinitely, when the tree was coming. No one ever once emailed me to say that the order was canceled, or that the tree was apparently no longer available. There was no explanation for how/why the tree became "sold out" after the fact when it was available at the time that I purchased it. There has been zero communication from Hammacher Schlemmer.
Zero explanation and absolutely zero customer service.
Ordered an exclusive sweater several weeks before Christmas. I never received an email confirming my order. The only way I knew I had an order was 3 weeks later I see the charge as Pending. Now no more pending and I haven't been charged. I believe they sell merchandise they don't have. Now the website says the expected ship date is 1/8/21. Worst company ever, where is my email order confirmation? Stay away from this company, you will only have headaches! New update, now the sweater has an anticipated shipping of 2/4/21. WOW, don't waste your time and money!
If I could give negative stars, i would. Horrible and unprofessional company. I ordered a product at the end of November. Few days later I had a notification that it was "shipped". They ended up "shipping" the batteries and not the product. They told me the product was back ordered and would be delivered 12/11. I received another email saying it would be 12/14. Then another email stating 12/17...At this point I canceled the order altogether. They told me since the batteries had "shipped" they couldn't refund my money. The batteries haven't even shipped, they just created the label. Which means they lied to me... TERRIBLE company.
I ordered men’s slippers size 12. HS sent women’s tennis shoes size 10. I returned the shoes and they sent the slippers to the wrong address. I had to pay a $25 postage fee to forward the slippers to correct address (where they had sent the shoes). They refused to refund me the $25. Very sloppy customer service and retail practices.
I purchased a large, expensive Christmas tree a couple years ago. Beautiful looking tree. However, there is now a portion of the lights out. Although the booklet says "if one burns out, 10 will be out." I've replaced over a dozen so far. The frustrating part is the difficulty in trying to figure out which one is bad. Getting bulbs out of socket, and correctly back in, is extremely difficult. I have spent over 3-hours of my time on this string and have yet to figure it out. I've got to say, in hindsight, this was one of my worst purchases given the cost of the tree. Would NOT do it again.
Purchased 18 ft Frosty for Christmas decoration in yard a year ago. The cheap plastic base broke and he is no longer functional. Called to get replacement and was told that they cannot replace him since he is no longer available (although the web site still sells them). Have to ship him back and it will take 3-4 weeks to receive a store credit instead of refund. Lots of bad reviews on BBB regarding customer service and same type of responses. Have spent over $1000 with them over last year. Sad how they treat people. No longer going to be a customer.
