This airport is now just for the rich
This airport is now just for the rich, £17.50 ULEZ charge £6 drop charge. Be careful it is not obvious it’s in the ULEZ zone and their is no flexibility. Also rules out Aegean airlines now aswell. The new security machines actual increase the security process with far more bits to it now than before.
There is no way to put charges on drop
HORRENDOUS - AVOID PARKING WHERE POSSIBLE
This is copied and pasted from another review as it perfectly highlights what happened with my car.
Scumbags washed their hands of any responsibility.
AVOID using official heathrow parking at all costs. These useless morons will damage your car and then refuse to acknowledge it or even check their own CCTV to confirm it!
My advice is to not use any of the so-called meet and greet parking, you simply cannot trust the unprofessional imbeciles to look after your car and to rub it in their fees are a rip off.
Just landed at Heathrow Terminal 4
Just landed at Heathrow Terminal 4. Went to get a Black taxi on the way to the taxi rank outside but was stopped by four different touts offering to take us to London for a hefty price. I’m not stupid as I live here. I reported this to security man. Who honestly shrugged his shoulders and wasn’t interested. Does not the airport have a duty of care to its passengers as I suppose so many must fall fail of the crooks. Poor form Heathrow
Terrible expensive airport
Terrible expensive airport, Dirty horrible place and its in the ULEZ zone where you will get ripped off, avoid this airport at all costs.
Heathrow rewards login page is impenetrable...
Heathrow rewards login page is a mess. I've tried to log in numerous times, reset my password, tried to reactivate an old account number now I'm travelling again, but keeps telling me my email address is not a valid address. Checked and triple checked it. It's fine. Then the online 'contact us' page doesn't actually let you contact anybody. It just gives you a list of solutions that don't work. A waste of time. Worse than useless.
Zero customer service - rip off parking
I was going on a short trip to Europe and booked Pod Parking at T5 direct with the airport. I parked and went to the terminal only to find my flight cancelled as Heathrow Airport had put air traffic control restrictions in place (weather) and cancelled the airline's slot. I returned to my car and left the car park just over an hour after arriving. Heathrow refuse any form of refund saying as soon as I entered then no refunds regardless so I'm left paying in full for three day's parking for an hour of actual parking. Complete rip-off, especially as the airport caused the flight to be cancelled, not the airline. Avoid
A disgrace through and through
A disgrace through and through! Wildy untrained and rude staff who know absolutely nothing about anything vaguely useful. Coupled with that, every time I have flown in here over the last year (10+ times) my baggage has taken at least an hour to make its way to the belt.
Sincere apologies to every non-Brit who is forced to use this toilet of an airport...
Wheelchair Assistance and Buggy
My elderly mum has limited mobility. After getting off the plane she was being transferred from wheelchair to buggy. Lydia driver was very rude, abrupt with a bad attitude refused me and my sister to travel with her. My mum becomes very anxious to travel on her own and this young lady insisted that she goes alone on the buggy. There was a young boy I think his name was Laxhwin who was polite and considerate arranged another buggy with a young lady driver who was a very nice pleasant and helpful person. After collecting the luggage there were other two men who were also very helpful I think one of them was a mauritian guy called Husein. Overall it was a good satisfactory service for disabled assistance.
Worst service in the world.
Worst service in the world.
I lost my iPad on a flight from Heathrow to Copenhagen and had it reported as lost. 2 weeks later I was contacted by lost and found in Heathrow, who could inform me that they had found my iPad and I could have it sent to Denmark. I just had to pay £81, which I did straight away. However, Lost and Found chose to put a commercial invoice on my package, so it was considered purchased in England. This meant VAT of £357 which I refused to pay. Now lost and found will not pay DHL to send the package back to Heathrow, so they can send it back with the correct invoice. It has been 10 days and now DHL is threatening to throw it away. What a crappy company.
Very king and helpful staff at check…
Very kind and helpful staff at check in. Long queues at security, many checkpoints are closed unfortunately.
Heathrow baggage handlers and special…
Heathrow baggage handlers and special assistance are disgraceful and truly useless in helping those in indeed of their services. We arrived in the afternoon of 31st May after a stressful experience with Emirates Airlines and Dubai police concerning a mobility scooter battery. When we left DXB we requested several times for the scooter to be available at the aircraft door so it would be easy for us to continue our journey. Not only was this ignored, but we had to wait another 45 minutes for it to be returned from the arrivals hall. Upon hearing the ding of the lift, we thought finally, we can get on our way, only to discover it had just been left by the idiotic staff member who had sent it down alone but not without breaking the steering column first. When the special assistance staff should have helped us with a buggy, we were told no, and the person who was meant to push the wheelchair then decided to abandon us, saying 'my job has to end sometime'. We were then left as a family of 4 (2 young children) and disabled person having to navigate with a now unless scooter which had to also be pushed on a wheelchair. Luckily, some staff were able to assist. After a week of trying to get some help, (Heathrow, Dnata, Emirates), no one has done anything. Unable to get anywhere as the scooter is non functional. It really is a shame that more training and care is not taken and also after an incident, no follow through to resolve the problem. These companies make millions off people who work very hard and can't even provide a basic service.
Heathrow Parking exploits customers for airline terminal changes
When an airline changes the terminal for your flight you don't expect Heathrow to fleece you to change an existing parking booking to the new terminal! More than 20% extra on already expensive parking is a disgrace!!
Heathrow Parking is wickedly disingenuous! It's not a booking change at all. It's a cancellation and new booking at the latest exorbitant price!
Mostly very good but “escaping” terminal 2 short…
The booking process for short stay at Terminal 2 is easy and gives really great savings on the price on the day - and it was a breeze getting through passport control (auto desks all working well) and customs. Also really quick to get to car and drive away (which is main reason to use the short stay). I’ve always felt that the signs and lane marking aren’t great leaving T2 short stay but on this occasion the extremely heavy rain made it virtually impossible and really stressful even for someone who has parked there several times in the recent past. I do think that the airport could and should do much better with the signage, lighting and road marking for exiting.
Trying to “escape” terminal 2 short stay on this very wet late evening was a nightmare.
Absolute Rubbish In all Respects!!
There so called official heathrow parking unable to make a booking on line tried from 2 desktop, from an apple iPad, from a android tablet, site just crashes got to the point took my card details, all i go was a spinning wheel tried to ring them at 7 pence per minute just got a engaged tone, why dont these people wake up, or are there directors busy collecting there juicy bonuses.
2 HR delay taking off to LHR on arrival…
2 HR delay taking off to LHR on arrival plane in front broke down blocking taxi runway. At the gate no one to operate the gangway and after all that minimum one hour delay for luggage. BA this is horrible service you are NOT favourite airline.
Luggage delay "operational constraint" which means not enough people!!!
Systemic failure in financial functions
This review refers to Heathrow Airport Limited (Company number 01991017). The Board of Directors at Heathrow.com appear to be so detached from their front line staff that when problems arise the whole system wobbles for lack of leadership. Consequently customers experience a genuine shambles with protracted times for resolution of the most simple issues. Following one of these prolonged wobbles I wrote twice to the Chief Operating Officer (Emma Gilthorpe) over what appeared to be a systemic failure in their refund arrangements. I received no response. I then wrote to the CEO (John Holland-Kaye), and again no response was forthcoming. What kind of company ignores a personal letter from a loyal and regular customer who has been subjected to the most exasperating inefficiency and is simply asking for their help in resolving a problem which is evidently beyond the capabilities of their front line staff? As a corporate board member myself I am stunned that this apparent level of ignorance and disinterest in the functioning of their customer-facing services is considered acceptable. Are their shareholders aware? This is certainly not a company that I would invest in and I would strongly advise an urgent review of board members' engagement with what matters most - their customers' experience. That said my extensive dealings with front line staff themselves was always cordial and professional and they appeared to be equally exasperated at the repeated failure of basic functions of the system.
Drop-off charge is modern highway robbery
I was 1 hour late with payment of my drop-off charge, and due to Christmas was unable to pay within 14 days. I now have to pay 80.- No negotiation, no consideration of circumstances, nothing. That's 75 quid that will not go to make Heathrow a slightly less miserable place, but will go straight into the Christmas bonus of APCOA.
A very pleasurable experience through…
A very pleasurable experience through security and baggage reclaim whilst workers on strike. Army soldiers at the customs desk were polite, efficient and speedy. Unlike the heathrow employee who was barking at us all as we approached. E-gates still don't work though. What a joke! Anyway, thanks to the British army I actually enjoyed going through security.
Be aware of Heathrow's parking Amendment Policy and what it means in practice
I'd been careful in choosing who to book with, particularly as the airline industry was still finding its feet after the pandemic and was comforted that Heathrow say in their Parking FAQ's "We want you to feel confident when booking your car parking through Heathrow Airport. We know travel plans can change, so we have an amendment and cancellation policy to support this".
The FAQ also states "How are parking charges calculated? Car parks are priced per 24-hour period or part thereof. The number of 'days' (24-hour periods) charged for when you pre-book is calculated on the basis of the times you select when making your booking".
On the booking page, it states, in bold large format text "No additional charges to amend booking" and then "If you need to amend your booking, any additional fees or refunds will be calculated based on the changes made, with no extra charge".
I duly booked the official Heathrow Airport Meet and Greet Parking at Terminal 3 on 19th September 2022 for 13 days parking, running from 0930hrs (drop off) for a flight with a departure time of 1220hrs on 23rd April 2023. The collection was booked for 1200hrs on the date of return, the flight scheduled to land at 1000hrs. The cost was £155.50
In mid December 2022 I was advised by the airline that unfortunately the flight times had changed. The outbound and return flight times were now each 4 hours earlier.
I followed the link given by Heathrow to amend my booking.
Upon entering the revised flight times (only shifted by 4 hours - Same dates of arrival and departure - same period parking and the same number of 24 hour periods), it advised that there would be a revised charge of £227.40 - an increase of £71.90.
I called Customer Services and was advised that as the price had increased since the original booking was made and any new charges would apply.
I replied that I considered this to be disingenuous. The clear message when booking and from the information on their website is that they recognise that travel plans can change, and, it says, their policies are designed to support this. Further, their FAQ’s spell out how the parking charges are calculated (i.e., 24-hour periods).
I do recognise that they may well operate a dynamic pricing model, where prices may change depending on when a booking is made, but this is irrelevant in the context of an amendment, particularly in view of the statements made on their website.
What Heathrow effectively do is cancel the original booking and make a new booking at the current prices.
An amendment policy with no fees has no value or use, but gives the impression that it does. They should just say you can cancel for free, which is their cancellation policy, but when you rebook it will be at the current cost.
After raising a complaint with Heathrow, where I asked them specifically to address the statements made on their website, they have replied to me without doing so.
They have said "Looking into your case I can advise that Heathrow parking pre-booking system does indeed operate on a dynamic pricing model, with prices changing due to availability of spaces in the respective parking facilities.
There is no fee levied specifically for making an amendment to or cancellation of a booking. However the dynamic pricing model means that amendments are likely to result in a cost increase, especially if the amendment is made a significant amount of time after the initial booking, as in most cases availability of spaces will have reduced since the booking date".
So, just be aware.
I cancelled the booking and have booked elsewhere.
