Hey Silky Skin has been reported to ACCC around concerning practices

I received a faulty product. I emailed to advise them and they asked for a video of myself using the product. I requested to see their warranty terms and conditions that outline the process when a product is faulty. I respectfully told them that this information is not available on their website, when purchasing the product or when receiving it in the mail. I also told them that I was concerned that this may not be in accordance with consumer law outlined by the ACCC. As soon as I pressed them they stopped responding at all. My efforts then moved from my particular product issue to one that is focused on understanding whether they are operating legally.

Secondly be aware that their 90 day guarantee requires that consumers MUST email Hey Silky Skin THE DAY they receive the product in the mail. Failing to do so means you will not be able to get a refund based on the product not achieving satisfying results. I don't see how an arbitrary request for an email, especially given mail is easily tracked these days, should have any bearing over honoring a guarantee based on the efficacy of a product. Getting your money back should not depend on an email communication it should depend on whether you purchase their product and whether it works for you or not.

This stinks of a company that is advertising a product with a guarantee risk free type message while creating barriers to limit consumer rights. As such I have reported them to the ACCC.

Further other websites paint a different picture of the efficacy of the product - see Sitejabber reviews.

Didn’t work from the first time, was told I was using it wrong, however it’s hard to use a device that keeps cutting out!!! Customer service is a joke, their 90 day money back guarantee is worthless.
Allie at the so called support centre is abrasive and of no help. DON’T FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!!
-5 stars if that was an option.

Scam! And if the company replies to this I won't respond it is all BS. I got my device. Worked well 2 weeks. 3rd week stopped flashing. They requested video..which is creepy but I sent it. Then they said I was doing it wrong after two different videos. Which obviously is not the case..I used it successfully two weeks leading up. They'd come up with reasons why it was wrong that was crap. Then I wrote reviews on the faceb9ok page they got deleted and I got blocked. When I mention this to customer service they reply the reviews are not deleted they just come from cooperative customers and what they were asking is not hard. DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER WOTH THIS COMPANY. I don't care if someone else's device worked without issue..they never had to try to get a replacement. If they had, they'd have the same issue. I should be able to return something that is brike or I just don't like.

Scam scam scam scam

If there was an option to give it any less stars, I would have! I never received my device and until today, I’ve been chasing Heysilkyskin for a refund. The customer service is the crappiest with promises of replies but no actual replies. It is a scam…they take your money then disappear. Very disrespectful and disappointing and I’ve made it a point to keep escalating until I get my refund. Stealing money from customers and not sending them a product is unacceptable and fraudulent and criminal!
Edit: now they’re denying that I placed an order through them! This is unbelievable!

Firstly they aren't in Australia. There is no contact number - only an email address that is only answered by 1 person? Scammers!

This product did not work for me. Has many emails to and from Allie (sound like everyone has) she made me sound like an idiot and wouldn’t honour the 90 day money back guarantee. I had to report to ACCC. Product doesn’t work don’t buy and they wont give your money back. Frustrating experience.

I have purchased my laser hair remover…

I have purchased my laser hair remover in September. As it did not work I requested a refund. The customer service representative Allie Linke kept on messaging me to keep on trying. After weeks of emailing her she stopped responding. I lodged a complained with Fair Trade Australia and they were also not able to get through to them. As I still haven’t receive my refund I have lodged a tribunal request.

This company is a scam and does false advertising by using 90 day money back guarantee but not letting people use it!

Do not buy - bad quality and no response from customer service

Update: Allie has reached out and they have replaced with a brand new set of machine.

There might of been a miscommunication but it’s resolved now.

I bought this in August 2021 and the machine started to turn off as soon as I turn on and now won’t even turn on. It’s only been 4 months!

I emailed customer service to request for resolution and sent a few follow up emails and NO RESPONSE. I messaged their page on Instagram and the first response was “we did not receive an email from your email address”. After I sent screen shot of my emails they simply responded “ you will get a response if you emailed”. When i tried to follow up again on instagram a week later they simply ignored me. it’s been over 4 weeks with no response.

Received this device today and it's not…

Received this device today and it's not turning on. Have emailed them but no response. I tried the troubleshooting steps I could do by myself firstly it took month for the device to receive and finally when I received it , if not turning on and customer service sucks they are not replying to any of emails at all.

Hey Clare, sorry to hear of your disappointment! To improve results we recommend an additional 6 treatments as some people do take a bit longer than others to experience full results. Not to worry! We would also recommend ideally going over the same area more then once during your sessions (up to three). Just make sure to action a skin test patch prior to ensure you are compatible with multiple passes.

I came here to give my review of this product and then I noticed something not right. Why have most of the people who have given hey silky skin 5 stars in the last couple of weeks also only done one other review and it’s all of the same product (the toastie). Dodgy plus!

Don’t even bother

The device didn’t work for me at all and I was unable to get a refund even though they have a money back guarantee (because I didn’t sign up for the guarantee before using the product) very misleading and I’m disappointed as this was complete waste of money save yourself the money and just go to a skin clinic to get proper laser hair removal done.
