Great advice on where to stay and accommodation options which we would not have considered without Inside Japan. Have and would recommend

We decided for our first trip to Japan to go where there were less crowds. Inside Japan had a tour called Hidden Japan that was perfect for our first time to this beautiful and historic country. We had Savannah as our guide, she has the perfect balance of fluent language, patience and cultural knowledge with the bonus of being from our home state, Texas! Our group of 14 came from four different countries and we got along well. The hotels IJ selected for this tour were convenient and comfortable, most had laundry options, all had expansive breakfasts (I miss Japanese breakfast buffets). The tour had a variety of sites to visit (arts and culturally), different scenery (architectural and natural beauty), and access to see parts of temples/shrines you would not normally be able to see on your own. For us, this tour gave us the opportunity to see a side of Japan that we would not have been able to do on our own in the time allowed. We also experienced all sorts of transportation, Savannah was so organized in keeping us together. We took trains, cabs, cable cars, bullet train, ferries, jetfoil. The tour gave us great experiences with a variety of meals like, kaiseki, shojin ryori and izakaya, The best hotel experience was staying in a ryokan with a private onsen, this was luxurious to us. Overall, we had a lovely, memorable, and culturally unforgettable experience. We would use IJ again to enjoy another region of Japan. They do the heavy lifting and all you do is let them know what you want to experience and your interests.

The whole trip was smoothly organised, with proper regard for what we had asked to do, and every day was enjoyable.

An easy booking process with good communication and information. The tour itself was ace and it gave a great overview and introduction to Japan. If you like lots of stops, a chance to experience buses, trains and all sorts instead of flying everywhere, this is for you.

We’ve used other similar agents, and Inside Japan is the best. They listen carefully to your desires and plan reasonable trips where you see more than you can imagine without exhaustion. We had odd various requests in the Alps as well as gluten-free issues. Bobbi and Inside Japan was stellar. I highly recommend them for an amazing and inclusive trip.

What an amazing trip. We did not give IJT much time to put together an itinerary for 5 adults ( about 4 weeks) but the trip was perfect. Japan itself was incredible- we are well travelled but really up there for us and our 3 young adult children. Organisation was outstanding. Everything worked perfectly- not a single problem throughout our 2 week tour. Comms were great- even tips such as which exit to take from Shinjuku train station. We loved it all and can’t recommend IJT more highly. Thank you.

Excellent communication so we were able to customize as needed. Everyone on our trip enjoyed it thoroughly. We are fans of self-guided travel and Inside Japan did a wonderful job to manage the mental load of logisitics so we enjoy each moment. They truly delivered.

From the very first contact to the end of our holiday the team were amazing! We had many problems due to typhoons and torrential rain but their home and international teams were there at every step of the way. The attention to detail was superb and my daughter and I had an amazing holiday - to be repeated I hope!

Our consultant Sarah listened closely to to what we wanted and produced a perfect itinerary for us. The booking process was very straightforward and at every stage there were loads of recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Logistics worked like clockwork. It was a mind expanding trip and I hope to go back soon.

The tour ran very smoothly and was a very good mix of planned and free time. Our guide was great - friendly, helpful. The size of the group was nice and small and I would not hesitate to recommend the tour to anyone.

A poorly constructed itinerary and dreadful guides. The itinerary took no notice of our ages, the summer weather and generally was badly put together as if no one had ever been to Japan in the summer.
The country guidebook provided by InsideJapanTours recommended Italian and Indian restaurants, extremely bizarre, the variety of different styles of Japanese food is one of many interesting aspects of Japan. We requested to stay at least one night at a ryokan, a traditional Japanese Inn the one they chose was run by non-Japanese, it was shabby, dirty and when we complained to InsideJapan they responded “it’s only for one night”!
We have been back 7 weeks now and no one has ever addressed our complaints. I could write a much longer post on the details but I am not willing to lose more time over this awful company.

It’s a long tour, so more comments as we go. Today was highly successful with a very competent, thoughtful and knowledgeable guide in Tokyo: Hanan, who had the most pleasant personality and really took us to places we would never visit. She just did everything right including taking us to an excellent restaurant – we could hardly get rid of her as she kept helping with our plans for tomorrow’s trip to Kyoto! She should definitely have a bigger role within the company.

Inside Japan is the best travel agent I’ve ever used and the only one that could offer us the scope to explore all of Japan for our 28 day trip. They didn’t push any agenda, listened to who we are and what we like, made excellent suggestions, and chose the most amazing hotels. Our trip involved a lot of travel and connections - they took all the stress away and left us with unforgettably amazing experiences of Japan. And the price was spot on. Can’t rate them highly enough. Big thanks to Jess Dobbs who put it all together for us and to the whole team behind her who made everything seem so easy.

Highly recommend Inside Japan. My solo trip to the Tohoku region was amazing. The organisation of accommodation, transport and detailed information about each place was excellent.

Patrick was an amazing guide who helped us with all our special needs and requests with enthusiasm. We went on so many unique and cultural experiences. Just what we were looking for but exceeded expectations.

We loved our adventure - the small group, the variety of inns, the mixture of activities that included biking and museums, the guide's expertise, the hassle free traveling from place to place, the detailed pre-package with map and the responsive guidance that was available in preparing for the trip. It was great!
