A Total Scam Disguised as a Fishing Charter — Avoid at All Costs
I booked a private fishing trip with Jesolo Fishing Charter for June 21, 2025, and paid a €400 deposit. From the beginning, communication was minimal and sloppy. I had to chase him down just to confirm basic trip details.
Two days before the trip, I reached out myself, only to be told the seas would be “very rough” that morning. No proactive update, no professionalism, no courtesy. Just a casual heads-up about dangerous conditions I never would’ve known if I hadn’t asked.
I canceled for safety reasons and asked for a refund. Instead of acting like a professional, the owner became aggressive and smug, replying “It doesn’t work like that,” and later saying “If you’re not there, even better… call the police or whatever you want.”
This is not a business. This is a hustler hiding behind vague terms and banking on tourists not fighting back. No refund. No reschedule offered. No professionalism.
I've since filed a chargeback with my credit card and reported this incident to EU consumer protection authorities.
Tourists: there are plenty of legit, customer-focused charters in Italy. This is not one of them. Don’t get scammed.
