If you want a SMART TV, forget Medion
Bought a Medion TV for my sons bedroom at Xmas. As a TV and for Netflix it’s fine, but I bought a Disney subscription expecting it to work on any device. All our Samsung TVs are spot on but the Medion doesn’t have an app so my son can’t watch the Marcel films in his bedroom - this has been the same since launch a d despite promises it’s coming still no sign. Cr4p smart TV, won’t be buying any Aldi tech products again in the future.
Awful product and awful customer service. Never buy electrical equipment from Aldi
I bought a new 4K 50inch tv from Aldi online in August 2020. It stopped functioning in late December, but came back to life again within a week. Then it stopped functioning again in January 2021 and hasn’t worked properly since. The tv frequently doesn’t react to the remote (it’s not the batteries in the remote). If it does respond to the remote (immediately after fitting brand new batteries) the tv freezes in app, doesn’t respond to the remote, the screen goes blank and after 15 minutes or so switches itself off. The tv ‘loses’ the apps I’ve
I’ve loaded and the mechanism for reloading, then they all come back sometime later - could be hours, days or weeks before they come back. I’ve tried for the last 3 months to get Medion and Aldi to do something about this to no avail. The customer service is awful. Every email is ignored, phone calls are cut off, nobody takes responsibility for dealing with the problem and every time you get put back into a 72 hour response time but nobody ever responds. It was a mistake buying from Aldi, and Aldi online. Customer services service is woeful - very “computer says no” attitude, and there is no escalation process when the response is poor. Customer services say I can’t take the tv back to the shop because I bought it online and nobody online will deal with the problem. My next step after being ignored yet again this week by Aldi who promised faithfully they would respond within 72 hours is to complain to my local Trading Standards. I will never buy electrical products from Aldi again and I will take my food shopping customer somewhere else too.
I purchased a Medion TV big mistake
I purchased a Medion tv which was on a preorder, so had to wait iUntill it was released. when it finally came I had an engineer to fit it for me (OAP)
I had problems from the start and the tv kept saying no internet connection hence I blamed my provider but every this was working correctly, I had to call Medion as my handset was not functioning correctly, so I mentioned the problem. They said reset it we will guide you, this made no difference . I kept calling the tv engineer who could not understand why it was malfunctioning this continued to keep happening so Medion said we will send you out a NEW TV little did I know they were sending out a reconditioned tv. My TV was NEW I was not prepared to accept a reconditioned one , so they said we will send you out A NEW ONE yet a reconditioned one arrived and it could not be connected as parts were missing. Have been without a tv for weeks now apart from one in my kitchen. I think it is deplorable the way I have been treated and the weeks I have had no tv to watch. Medion said they never replace with new ones and they only guarantee for six weeks then it is passed to Medion who only provide reconditioned ones.
I have been fighting to get my money back and was told that once they collect the one that was sent in replacement they cannot refund me. They kept cancelling the pick up and now four days later I am awaiting my refund. I called and was told it will be done. I cannot buy another tv until they refund me.
Don’t buy a tv from ALDI Their policy on not replacing a new tv that is faulty with a like for like only with a reconditioned one.
Shame on you leaving me sitting in my kitchen with a tv that is 16 ryes old when I paid cash for a new smartt tv.
And now I am having to wait for my money back.
I will never buy from them ever again.
Repaired and Returned with no issues
My Medion Akoya P6645 had been blue screening pretty much constantly for a couple of months and I called up their customer service to complain and ready to leave an extremely negative review on here in line with some others I'd read.
I don't know if I just got lucky, but the guy I spoke to in their French call centre was so helpful. He identified that from the blue screen errors I'd had, there was likely faulty RAM installed and potentially a motherboard issue which their technicians could look at when I sent it in for repair.
They required proof of purchase (which was fine as I'd ordered it from ebuyer and had the confirmation email still) and some photos of the condition of the laptop (which I thought was strange but no issue to take some pictures) and then they arranged for it to be picked up by a courier at my address the next day. I no longer had my laptop box so they added a note to the courier to bring a box for it too.
It was gone for two weeks, and I received emails at each stage to say it had been received, that their tech team were looking at it, that it had been repaired, and that it was being sent back out to me (with shipping details included to track it being returned).
This was back in September 2020, I waited 6 months to write this review to ensure that no further issues arose and it has worked like a dream since. It's been quite a relief as I spent a decent amount of money on it and was starting to feel like it was a waste until the repair. I know a lot of people have had bad experiences based on their reviews here, so I just wanted to reassure that the process was really straightforward for me and I had a great experience with them. Thanks, Medion :)
My P6689 erazer gaming laptop…
My P6689 erazer gaming laptop experienced a keyboard fault.
I got in touch with Medion, they had DPD collect it the next day (Tuesday) and it was returned to me with a new keyboard on Friday. Excellent service, given they're now part of Lenovo it shows
Absolutely awful equipment and dreadful…
Absolutely awful equipment and dreadful customer service.
My advice is to avoid at all costs.
I purchased a Medion E23401 'All in One' computer in July 2019. In January 2020 the screen failed.
The returns process is a nightmare. Despite customer service agents appearing to genuinely try to help, my unit was not collected for repairs for four weeks. They will demand photographs of the 'fault' before doing anything.
The new screen was 'not in stock' so the repair took a further three weeks to complete. On return, the unit would not connect to the Wi-Fi. The antennae had not been secured during the repairs process. It therefore needed to go back for further work. I eventually got the unit back on 12th March 2020.
The company 'declined' to offer a refund or replacement, despite a major failure within the warranty period and the additional inconvenience resulting from an initial, shoddy repair.
Eleven months later, the screen has failed again, in exactly the same way as before. I've had to start the repairs process, again...
The unit sits in a home office, on a secure table. It is used for work and has a 'light' software load. It should be able to cope without failing!
Please be aware. These products are very poor value for money. The frontline customer agents will appear helpful but very little will be done to help you; the 'line managers' who decide what happens with the repairs will not contact you at any point.
You will get no information back from the company and should your repair take longer than 15 days, then all of your details will disappear from the 'tracker screen' within their repair centre pages on their website. That is the portal through which you are supposed to keep updated.
You will need to call them, numerous times, to get any form of update.
The machine is rubbish.
Their customer service is rubbish.
I threatened legal action last time to no avail.
As said, avoid!
MEDION S15449
Low quality and dissapointing. Don't buy if you plan to use anything but Windows since it's incompatible with any linux kernel due to the low-quality hardware.
Medion 58 inch 4k ultra HD…
I ordered a Medion 58 inch 4k ultra HD TV from Aldi and delivered to my home. When first arrived and powered up the screen was found to be cracked. Aldi instantly sent a replacement no questions asked just photos for evidence. Excellent customer service. The replacement was perfect. For the money it cannot be faulted (360 pounds and delivered free) and the picture holds its own versus something that costs 3 times as much. Blacks are black enough, colours excellent and refresh rate brilliant for TV/film and connectivity to all gadgets is fine. Only slight complaint is the sound lacks oomph. I therefore ordered a very nice soundbar and subwoofer. All in all very good.
Shockingly poor customer service and build quality!
My laptop stopped working after 2 mths or so, the processor was burned out I believe! OK, I can live a fault, it´s what followed that was unbelievable.
I spent the next month trying to get Medion to repair it! Once I managed to get through the barrage of automatic emails, I was contacted by a young woman who just ran me around without resolving the problem. Finally I had to get a legal letter sent to them with threats. So immediately her supervisor contacted me and arranged for the laptop to be sent to Lenovo. Shockingly poor customer service!
So, I get my laptop back from the Lenovo rapair centre and they have replaced my i5 with an i3 processor.
The laptop was knackered after 2yrs, cracks in the frame, paint rubbed off, keys sticking, portals not working. I had to replace it with an Asus after 2 yrs 6mths. My last 3 laptops before that had all served me for 4yrs at least. So the €100 or so I saved on the initial purchase was irrelevant, because of the poor build quality. But the worst was the customer service. So do yourself a favour and DO NOT BUY FROM MEDION, that is my advice!
Had my Medion 49"4k hdr smart TV now…
Had my Medion 49"4k hdr smart TV now for 2 years bought from Aldi. What with all the bad reviews I must have a rare unit that has got through quality control. My TV up to now has been working without a hitch, for the money I paid its been extremely reliable. I would imagine that the vast majority of these Televisions work ok and its usually the unhappy customers that leave there reviews. Remember 1st year you just take the tv back to Aldi or the retailer you bought from and then you get a further 2 years warranty if anything goes wrong. I paid £399 not as good as a Samsung or Sony but a lot cheaper
I have had EXCEPTIONAL service from the Medion team
I have had EXCEPTIONAL service from the Medion team. Within 10 working days of reporting my fault, they had arranged collection of my Notebook & a full refund of the purchase price was in my bank account.
I first spoke with them on the Friday 23rd October. My Medion 14” Notebook was purchased from Aldi in April 2018. Suddenly about a dozen keys on the right side keyboard would not function correctly ie only uppercase characters would work. I had been perfectly happy with it until this.
The note book was under their standard 3 year warranty & I had kept all the original invoices & paperwork which I emailed them.
Medion arranged for DPD to collect the Notebook in a sealed computer box which was done at the exact time agreed on the 4th working day (Wednesday 28th October). Medion confirmed safe receipt the next day.
On Monday 2nd November (day 7} I received an email advising that unfortunately the workbook could not be repaired & they had none in stock so I would receive a full refund within 5-7 working days.
The funds were in my account on the 5th November so 3 days later & only 10 days after me initially calling Medion!
Every person I dealt with was helpful & friendly & gave good advice including how to back up & clear all my files. Every email was responded to by the next working day & they were proactive in keeping me informed though a link was also provided so I could keep check on progress myself.
Special thanks to Lucia, Kirsten & Monica.
good buy
I bought the X6805 18 months ago and very happy with it. The specs were what I wanted at a very competitive price, and the quality is good too. When the laptop is not plugged in, the performance drops and I can't find a way to fix this in the battery settings, but that's the only negative I can think of.
REMOTE IS POOR. TEMPERAMENTAL STREAMING.
REMOTE IS POOR AND TEMPERAMENTAL.
PLAYERS (ALL4, IPLAYER , ITV HUB, ETC' ) STOP, SPEED UP, AND SWITCH THE TV TO STANDBY. I HAVE TO SAY I WILL AVOID IN THE FUTURE. 39 INCH FHD SMART TV
Avoid medion!
Avoid medion! I bought an erazer p6689 gaming laptop just over a year ago. Just under a year of having the laptop I experienced serious stuttering issues, so I got in contact with them and sent it off, they had my laptop for roughly 3 weeks with extremely poor communication! They didn't even notify me when it had been fixed and it was on the way back! Or even what the fault was in the first place, I had to ask what the problem was multiple times before I got an answer.
So after 3 weeks of them having it, I got it back only to find out they hadn't fixed the problem they'd only messed my laptop up more! For example the majority of my keyboard doesn't work anymore, the HDMI port doesn't work anymore and I still have the terrible stuttering!!!
So what the hell did they even do with my laptop!? So I contacted them again and I got a canned bot reply, "the only thing you can do is send it back to us for assessment" like hell I'm gonna send it back to them so they can mess it up even more!!!
So after telling them I want a refund or a replacement because they messed my laptop up I am now being ignored. Great 👍
TLDR
Absolutely crap customer service and the laptop isn't that great either.
The Dutch Medion is so bad...
The Dutch Medion is so bad...
got "scammed" by Lenovo customer service (actually it is Medion, the outsourced repairing company by lenovo)
I sent a email via its support website, with the picture attached to describe the problem of my laptop, they told me "its under warranty, so repair and transport are all covered", so I sent it to them.
2 weeks later, they told me "no, its not under warranty"...if I want it repair, pay 1200 Euro, otherwise, pay another 50 Euros for the returning cost. well, with 1200 Euros, I can buy a new one with upgraded configuration... why do I bother to have a repaired one.
so now, I have to pay 50 Euro to get my laptop back (un-repaired).
let me quote the email:
1st email:
Thank you for contacting Lenovo Support. I understand there is an issue with the temperature of the device and after opening the device you noticed there was something detached regarding the heatsink. As the device still has warranty we can setup a repair to have the depot check the failure and replace the parts.
To be able to set this up I would like to check the following data:
2nd email:
Can you please let me know in a reply if the information above is correct or needs altering.
If all is well I will setup a repair for you, which means you will receive an email with a voucher which you can print out.
Pack you unit for transport (orig. box or good alternative) and put the voucher on the box.
You can bring this package to an UPS delivery point in your neighbourhood (I will include a link in the mail so you can find one).
Transport and repair will be done under warranty and will therefore not be charged to you
I hope to have helped you sufficiantly with this information and I wish you a very nice day.
----quote end----
but in the live support chat, that guy never admit that "it is under warranty" and telling me it`s repair center`s call to decide whether under warranty or not.
ye...what can you do? my laptop is in their hand, they will not return it unless I pay the transport cost.

advice: stay away from it.
I've had my Medion tv 1 year
I've had my Medion tv 1 year. It is a cheap build but the technology is good. I've got my tv on a wall bracket in my bedroom and it does the job.
Day one
Day one - seems good so far but can't tune with Sky remote as Sky don't recognise the model number 🤞
POOR QUALITY Products & even WORSE so-called 'Service'
This FAULTY, POOR QUALITY Medion 4K Ultra HD Smart TV came from Aldi. All of the FAULTS & issues occurred within the first 6 months.
When switched on, a large amount of horrible dirty marks appear all over the screen, (which are especially noticeable & prominent when there is a light background or picture)! This is not the so-called 'dirty screen' effect, (though that is another issue that this faulty TV set suffers from), but is actually a large number of actual marks within the screen layers!
There are no marks on the front of the screen, the fault can only be seen when the TV is switched on, therefore this can only be a MANUFACTURING FAULT, where dirt & marks have been trapped between some of the many layers that make up the LED screen were bonded together.
There are also vertical lines up the entire left & right hand sides of the screen, (more prominent on the left hand side), which again are BELOW the front of the screen somewhere in the layers of the screen, (look like they could be glue marks from when the layers were bonded together). This fault means there is 2 to 3 cm strip all the way up the sides of the screen where the picture is permanently out of focus!
There are LOTS of other FAULTS, including:
1) the back light is appallingly bright & terribly uneven, and won't switch off, even when allegedly turned off completely in the settings!
2) There is a large amount of picture bleed, (where the picture 'bleeds' into the black* bars above & below the picture when watching a wider screen format movie, (as most cinematic movies are formatted).
3) *The supposedly black bars above & below the picture of wide screen movies are nothing of the sort, being at best a range of greys; plus they are very uneven in tone, ranging to almost light grey toward the corners, (highlighted by the dreadful, over bright back light issue).
4) The picture is not refreshing properly or fast enough; there are 'ghost' images of the previous scenes apparent for several seconds, which is especially noticeable when there is a dark picture, (night scenes are the worst).
5) Neither the HDR function or Dolby Vision function work properly or at all when watching 4K Ultra HD Discs! I have tried this HDR only and with Dolby Vision enabled discs with the function switched on & off, and there is no difference! This means that blacks are, at best. grey, (like the bars above and below), which really detracts from the Ultra HD format and defeats the part of the purpose of the format!
In addition, 4K Ultra Discs do not look any better than the standard definition Blu-rays, (which is easy to test as most 4K's come with the standard Blu-ray disc included)! In fact this supposed 4K Ultra HD looks much WORSE than my old standard HD TV in ALL modes, (watching SD TV; watching HD TV; watching recorded TV content through a PVR; watching DVD's (through 3 different players; DVD; Blu-ray & 4K Ultra); watching Blu-rays and watching 4K Ultra Discs).
6) The remote control, (second one after the first was replaced), is temperamental, (though I suspect this may be a fault with the sensor in the TV set).
7) Blank screen issue, (occasional); on the odd occasion the screen goes completely blank; the remote won't work and the only way to get a picture again is to power the TV mains off & switch it back on again.
8) Complete sound drop out, (intermittent but regular issue); occasionally the TV goes silent, (this effects the TV's own speakers & attached soundbar, so must be a TV fault). When this happens the only way to sort it out & get sound back is to switch the TV power off & then back on again!
Then, after just under 5 months since purchase the screen went entirely and there is no picture at all, whether through TV aerial or any HDMI!!!!!
£537 DOWN THE DRAIN.... going to have to take Aldi to Court as they REFUSE to acknowledge it is faulty!
The QUALITY of this TV Set is truly dreadful! It is UNFIT FOR PURPOSE; NOT 'as described; NOT of 'satisfactory quality' & not likely to last a reasonable amount of time!
Medion staff are unhelpful, obstructive, ignorant & unprofessional! They agreed the TV was FAULTY but have lied to the trader & refuse to help!
I just want a refund but Aldi REFUSE to help and are ignorant, obstructive & fundamentally dishonest! BEWARE, if you buy tech from Aldi and it goes wrong you will be stuffed; they do not care and will not help, plus they will lie to you and deny that the Consumer Rights Act applies to you, (even though the manufacturer finally confirmed the TV suffered MANUFACTURING FAULTS, Aldi are insisting it is not faulty and say it is 'user error'; WORST so-called legitimate company it has ever been my misfortune to be, effectively, scammed by!
AVOID!
Took 1,5 to boot up
Same here, if I could give 0 stars, I would.
Absolutely horrible experience. Had (still do, wish I didn't though) a Medion Akoya for about 3 years now, first 1,5 years everything was fine, maybe a few hiccups here and there, but then, oh boy
Notebook started having problems with booting up, constant need to update windows without actually having enough space for it - those cheap notebooks that have barely any memory so you can't update windows and it will bug you until it's last breath? Yup.
One of the only good things about it is the touch screen, that was very handy when the touch pad was acting up and you needed to scroll. But now that's not really working either :))
I've had to buy complectations to add to this lacking device. I've now got a keyboard, a mouse, and a whole memory block that I need to hook up to the machine when I'm starting it up. But wait, bonus! I know it's pretty common for computers to have 2 USB slots, but for this current set up you can see how that's not working out. I have to decide what exactly do I need to use first😂
Anyway, long story short - awful. Don't ever buy from this company. In fact, I've been researching online on what to do when this specific model doesn't power on, and guess what - it's the second google search result. I've spent 1,5 hours just now trying to boot this thing up, and miraculously it decided to work. Look up other reviews online, you'll see how this company almost scammed people, wanting them to pay repairs when the product was still under warranty.
I've never been more enraged when using an electionic product in my life. The first chance I get to buy a better computer, I'm hopping on and leaving this junk behind
Don't ever buy from them
Horrible pc
I'vehad my pc for less than a year and whenever i turn it on and for an example play a game, it lags like S**t! My laptop that isn't even a gaming laptop is better than this gaming pc!!!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
