This NGC is not rulable rating for coins I head coin with obese mint errors and NGC denuded it grading
this grading is not ligament it is BS
Absolute dissatisfaction with customer…
Absolute dissatisfaction with customer care. It is completely impossible to get answers to questions (from DE Munich office), even after the urgency of the American headquarters. Last time we had one coin back with a big scratch, unfortunately we didn't have the initial photos. This time we are waiting for the shipment, any information about the shipment for 14 days. This was probably my last order here.
NGC quality control and customer service very much lacking.
Here is what their web site states: "With an unparalleled commitment to accuracy, consistency and integrity, Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC®) is the world's largest and most trusted third-party grading service for coins, tokens and medals. Since 1987, NGC has graded more than 60 million coins, each one backed by the industry-leading NGC Guarantee."
The fact that they don't even read TRUSTPILOT reviews makes me wonder ....
Recently (May 2024) I submitted an American Gold Eagle for review and it was returned to me with a major scratch or scuff on the obverse of the plastic case. Ironic because I ordered a scratch resistant case for extra protection. To their credit they are swapping out the case.
Also, May 2024 on a 4-coin "World" gold set submission one of the coins was placed in the slab with the coin nowhere near being properly aligned. Both obverse and reverse should have been 12:00 orientation but were off significantly. I have an email to their customer support folks, and we will see where that goes. I’ll update here after they take a position on the issue.
Finally on a Japanese gold ¥5.00 coin they refused to give me any information regarding their assessment of "ALTERED SURFACE" (and refusal to place coin into a slab), stating is was proprietary information.
Such a vague and ambiguous final analysis made it difficult for me to get a return of my money from the original seller of said coin as I could only articulate it had an altered surface.
I pay almost $300 for a year subscription and am now left wondering if it is worth it. Judging from other reviews I'm guessing not.
I hope NGC gets things turned around sooner rather than later.
NGC used to give the value of a specific coin registered with the NGC but now it refers to looking up their price guide that is a PITA .

scam like thieves they want 80k for a 4m coin watch out from them
well i wish i had read the reviews
well i wish i had read the reviews. before as well. i had sent in 12 coins and this was the second time i sent coins in. (1) was a 1964-D what looks like a copper nickel that weights 6.5 grams. it came back as vf details environmental damage.no mention of the weight which is 10 grams overweight for a 1964 nickel. next one was 1958-D penny that came back MS 63 RB LOL its gold-plated front and back. one was 1970-S LARGE DATE PENNY. Came back MS-64 BN. LOL there isn't brown anywhere on coin. im done with NGC.
Just a 2nd rate company
Just a 2nd rate company, along with their terrible shipping policy, they also NEVER read the submission forms. Every time I list what CC to use on the form, they NEVER use it. Always some stupid excuse, plus they ship with mystvbe in person at your home
You can't pick up the package at fedex unless you wait till fedex misses 3 attempts, then fedex holds it 5 days, you can't pick it up, you wait till it ships back, vthen you pay again to ship it to the sake fedex way point that was being held at.
It is VERY clear why they are a far 2nd next to PCGS. Pay they extra money and use PCGS, that's why pcgs graded coinsbare Worth more
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME
i repeat do not waste your time and money you will be extremely disappointed! customer service is horrible. Employees switching perfectly good coins for lower graded ones. I wish i would have read their reviews before sending them my PERFECT coins just to get worse ones in return!
Never Again
Might as well throw my money down the toilet, Never again will I use this company. Disgusted
This company honors the rapist and criminal Trump with his face on coin ratings
This companies ratings are very suspect. It is a racket and I do not trust them. Besides they sell coins, silver eagles, with the rapist and criminal Trump on them. He is going to jail and is the most corrupt and dumbest president even to live. I have friends from Europe visiting and they are shocked and amazed that we would honor such a fascist and criminal, twice impeached president. It is an embarrassment to our country and all of democracy.
If Your New To Coin Collecting, BE CAREFUL!!
If you’re new two coin, collecting and grading, this company is not for you. Their form is ridiculously complicated to figure out. If you submit coins that have errors and varieties on them and you don’t check the form for the exact error or variety they won’t help you. So you pay a lot of money for their service and there’s a possibility that you will miss out on a variety or error. So you will end up with a coin where the label will be so basic that you wasted your money. If the company knows that you missed a certain variety or error, they should at least call you and tell you before continuing on with the grading. That way you don’t miss out and waste your money.
Seeing way to many so called "Cleaned" coins.
I believe this company is trying to do a good job, but it's dang funny that the big coin companies come up with bran new coins from the mint with their special labels and they always come up with MS70 or Proof PF 70 coins, while the average collector winds up sending in the same proof coins from the mint that keep coming back 69. Hey I can live with that assuming it's true and the company is all what they say it is. I'd like to believe they are a good company with very knowledgeable folks doing the grading. But maybe the the person doing the grading was just having a bad day or didn't get enough coffee in order to see straight that morning. By grading a coin at 69 it just kills the resale value of the coin or set.
Lastly I'LL say this, I've received and seen so dang many coins that say CLEANED !! Uncirculated Details. It's either an AU or it's not by the Sheldon Grading scale. Not something in-between. Do an Ebay search for a "1921 Peace Dollar AU details Cleaned" you mean to tell me folks were just sitting around cleaning all these coins? How they can tell if a 100 year old coin was cleaned or not is at best questionable. The coin may have lost it's luster over the years but it doesn't mean it has been cleaned. Too many coins are coming back as supposedly CLEANED. Or Revers cleaned, you mean to tell me someone just decided to clean the back of the coin, but not the front. %$^&*# I've heard where folks sent in 2021 newly minted Morgan dollars for grading in the U.S. Mint packaging and they came back to the owner as CLEANED. Give me a break.
stay away from this company
stay away from this company, they are stuck in their own little world
had an 1876 dime that I DUG metal detecting, was in really nice shape, looked like it was dropped brand new. I sent it in for grading and they said it was CLEANED???!!! I called them and explained how I had just found the coin in the ground of a very old park, they said it was probably cleaned before it was dropped???!!! They actually argued with me - never again they do not know what they are doing - chances are MORE likely they were wrong not that someone cleaned it 150 years ago - why would someone back in 1876 clean a coin?! LOL
THIS COMPANY LACKS ANY COMMON SENSE !!!
pay 40 dollars for fake coins? wow
Longer than expected turn around, but worst part of it was paying 40 dollars for 12 coins that were fake. That really hurt. Watch what you send
HIGHEST PRICES LOWEST SERVICE
HIGHEST PRICES LOWEST SERVICE
NGC is consistently late on grading and returning coins.
They give a turnaround time and then take 3-4 weeks longer
Quality control is lacking. coins crooked in holders, pictures with someone's hand in them. Customer service will placate you with promises and then never follow through.
Look at other reputable grading services first
What a rip off I want my money back
Don't waste your money
Don't waste your money. It's a money making scam. It won't add a penny to the value of your coin since any serious buyer will inspect the coin themselves using their own inspector and won't care about NGC grading. It's worthless.
This was my second try at NGC
This was my second try at NGC, I have had coins graded by ANACS and lots by PCGS. I must say though that this time sending 33 coins into NGC was the worst experience I have ever had with a "professional" coin grading service. Yes, service was exceedingly, slow but I was emotionally prepared for that. Communications and foul ups were bad and I was not happy about that, but it was the grading that really disappointed me!!! Many items under graded, more coins they called "scratched" than I have ever had before. I even had a coin previously graded xf-au (business strike) that they graded PF61! numerous Beautiful BU coins that came back MS61! I paid extra for variety nomenclature and even told them the varieties but they did not put them on the label. These people are suppose to be the experts! I understand business' are still trying to recover from the difficulties of Covid, but this is pathetic! It was like beginners graded my coins. I spent $1000 on grading insurance S/H and lost more than that by far on the poor and, in my experienced opinion, inaccurate grades. I wrote them a detailed letter of the problems, but they just doubled down and stuck to what they already did. They are too busy to worry about water under the bridge. The saying goes; "never say never" but I am saying it now. This is the last time I will ever send anything to NGC.

After 87 day's which was expected my coin's were graded. Too much to my surprise they entered wrong expiration date on my credit card that was on file for membership. You cannot get through to the accounting department after spending countless hours on phone finally got resolved. Never again switching Too pgs
Stay away from NGC
Stay away from NGC! They only want to grade coins from dealers. It takes 2-4 months to get coins graded, they charge whatever they want and they can’t follow their own instructions on their invoices. They continue to increase prices without warning. And between them, the mint and the dealers, they have killed the hobby. Thanks NGC!
