After reading mixed reviews I was very sceptical about ordering from this company. They had the rare bottles I wanted so I took the gamble and I’m really pleased I did! Shipping was very quick. Can’t say much on the customer service directly as I didn’t need to speak to anyone but I’m very happy I ordered as I got the bottles I wanted. Thank you Team!

Very poor experience and £60 wasted.

Bought a bottle of Old & Rate Highland Park 29yr (bottled by Douglas L).

The delivery was fast and professional. When opening, the cork showed extensive deterioration with signs that poor storage could have contributed to it. The shop owner did NOT contest this point! Fortunately, the content hasn’t been damaged. Had to resort to a decanter and filter out cork fragments.

Overall, I should and could have done more due diligence. It’s a surprising and funny coincidence that the shop and the whiskey branding share the same name… which led me to subconsciously believe the shop is connected to a large independent bottler. That’s not the case.

So, I’d say it’s a risky buy that ends well for me but please be prepared to do more research beforehand.

Bought a 2000 millenium johnnie walker from them, contacted them twice by email to arrange a return due to item having undescribed damage. Never responded once even though there Web page states they will return all items as customer satisfaction is very important.

Haven't ordered, and will not use this company again. I put a purchase in my basket, one bottle @ £106, free delivery over £99 it said in the 'delivery' section, however the basket populated with a £6.99 delivery fee. The item sat in my basket overnight and today I received an email reminding me, saying they'd saved my basket, so I replied to customer services, a sharp reply came back, stating free delivery is available on an £199 spend. I replied a screenshot, not what their website was saying. Needless to say the small print was updated on the website in front of my eyes. I wrote back to say a voucher for free delivery would be have been appreciated, no reply, so I wrote again, they didn't even say sorry or thank you for highlighting this issue. I have since received a message to say order and they will refund the postage, I don't think so, I don't like the company and wouldn't trust them. Plenty of other retailers like my business.

Bought four bottles of Jura from the 1990's / naughties as gifts. The corks have all broken off in the bottles, Laura from this company says to use a corkscrew!

I have bought from Old And Rare Whisky multiple times. Every time the service has been excellent. Informed at all times, Delivered next day, Very well packaged and In perfect condition. The people there are very helpful and reply to all question quickly. I like them very much for other companies advertise the same items at extortionate prices. Whilst Old And Rare Whisky prices are always very good. So they sell an item for a fair price. When I find a good seller I will stick with them as I know they provide a great service. Many many years ago I had 2 bottles of Hewitt whiskey. But my husband without telling me decided to drink both and leave empty bottles in boxes.
I was a little upset as was keeping for special birthdays for my children.
It was then I realised
How rare they were.
I have been looking ever since.
My son turned 40 during Covid and couldn’t celebrate. I can now give him a very special belated gift

Sometimes it isn't till things go wrong you realise how good a company is. I've bought a few bits and pieces from Old and Rare in the past, no issues at all. Select, pay and it arrives within a few days.
However, on this occasion I selected an item that had been part of an offer (an older large bottle of JD) and duly received an email to say DPD were expecting my parcel. I logged into DPD and selected my preferred delivery date... which came and went and no sign of my bottle.
I contacted Old and Rare and they contacted DPD immediately and kept in email contact with actions being taken.
Forward a few days and I received an email from Old and Rare to say DPD had checked 6 of its 7 depots with no success and if the bottle couldn't be traced they would refund me close of play the next day.
To my delight the following day I receive an email form Old and Rare saying the bottle was still missing but one of similar age, but with a presentation cradle had been sourced and would that be suitable or would I prefer a full refund. I took the bottle and this was despatched same day and delivered the following morning at 8.30am!
A big thanks to the team at Old and Rare, my faith in customer service per se is well and truly restored and I will definitely continue to be a returning customer.

Found a liqure whisky hubby really likes, but hasn't been able to get for a couple of years. Well priced. Ordering was easy. Delivered promptly & well packaged.

This was a fantastic service, the bottle arrived far quicker than I expected and was exactly as described, I will certainly use them again.

As this is a new special edition though would give it a try
And from old and rare whiskey as they have great selection of talisker as usual and deliver on time

Best to read this traders Ts & Cs and 1(0) star reviews I phoned this trader to ask my consumer rights as the cork snapped off and fell into the bottle on opening, hoping at the least they would send me out another cork but NO,the trader replied I don’t deal with this someone else does they will send you an email sure enough they did and said hardlines you should have read our Ts & Cs first there’s nothing you can do In other words hardlines you should have read our so called Ts & Cs (the hardlines is my depiction) there was also a hefty delivery tag which was added of £6.99 other respected sites offer free delivery over a certain amount also suffered stomach cramps later in the day will update at a later date if I get them again and if so I think it would be worthy of an independent report drawn up on the quality, will definitely not purchase anything again from this trader and will go the whole way as I don’t think Glenmorangie would be very happy aswell best advice if you respect your dram buy your rare choice from the company website not this one.
