For basic pic editing it's great. I like that they store every picture u ever edit and when u go to website again u can see all your photos and chose them again to edit or save again..

I taught myself photo editing on pixlr many years ago. With the layering options it used to have I could turn my photographs into overlays, crop, erase, etc. With the brushes that were available I could easily create my own grunge transparencies, layer and blend. Since returning to pixlr I have discovered none of those functions are available with x or e and both are now useless. They took two great programs and trashed them.

And what a pile of. Pixlr Editor of old was brilliant. Free and fun. This new manifestation is beyond appalling. Many filters gone, working on any layer a bad dream, TEXT is terrible - limited fonts and it will not add local fonts as it says it will. Many, many more bad aspects to this joke of an image editor. I know it's free, but at least with the old Pixlr the ads didn't flash up every time you choose a function and loiter like mosquitoes. I haven't bothered persevering with this cheap rubbish as I just know I will come across even more ludicrously bad function design. And they want people to pay for an ad-free 'pro' version. Yeah, right. Same designers, so same crap I suggest. Only this time for $$. What a bad joke. Farewell old Pixlr Editor. You served me well.

Please bring back the old kaleidoscope effect, that went into infinity, when applied !!!!! Thank You !!

Pixlr is absolutly terrible I would definitely not recommed using it.

Pixlr E is kind of a joke. It's called PRO, but it doesn't even have the water swirl or kaleidoscope filters that the old editor has. It also doesn't have nearly as many brush shape options as the old one.
In pixlr's reply they suggested using the liquefy app instead of the water swirl. And where liquefy is cool, it is not even close to what the water swirl does.
As far as using the clone stamp in place of kaleidoscope. I don't understand that logic at all. Not even close to the same process.
I understand that pixlr E is free, and I truly appreciate that. I just wish it could be as good as it once was. I'm assuming that the missing capabilities can not be run without the power of FLASH. Which is another discussion all together.
If you could just give us the WATER SWIRL, that would be GREAT ! Please.

Dear Pixlr, I'd like to tell you my experience was atrocious. For the love of god I could NOT ERASE MY TOP LAYER AND IT KEPT GOING BACK TO THE BACKGROUND LAYER. Why? I'm not sure! YOU TELL ME WHAT IS THIS I CAN'T EVEN PROPERLY SELECT SOMETHING USING THE LASSO WITHOUT IT DRAGGING THE DAMN LAYER ALL OVER THE PLACE. Why not just use the undo key? I DID, YOU DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THAT AFTER YOU USE THE LASSO KEY, IT ONLY REVERTS THE SELECTION OF THE LASSO BUT DOESN'T REVERT THE MOVEMENT OF THE LAYER. I understand this is a free app but I'm sick and tired of this. This is pissing me the hell off and I want a better app! PLEASE FIX IT.

Terrible, get photoshop. The worst thing is the lack of gaussian blur, as it is very very important and pixlr's blur tool is terrible when you try to blur drawings.

Absolute garbage, I'm trying to free transform a picture and it keeps going to wand select. A horrible editing software, do use it at all. It made me furious.

crashes every 2 secs and doesnt work at all. really bad

I had a Pixlr Pro membership for a while, it was pretty good. Probably the best alternative to photoshop. I canceled my membership because they discontinued their $12/months plan and now charge $5/monthly.
It's super annoying to have another $5/monthly autopayment. They SHOULD offer a discount for a yearly subscription. I'd buy that.
I also don't really think it's worth $5/monthly when I can get Photoshop for $9/monthly.

Can do (almost) anything Photoshop can do but it's free and in your browser.

I love pixlr! A great place to edit, resize, crop, and add affects to photos! I use it quite a lot. :)
