I’ve had several cars over the years from PCC. Every time the sales staff have been honesty, friendly & totally approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend them 👍

Would not recommend.

I previously had my car MOT'd at Plympton MOT Centre for 10 years and could not fault them before the ownership changed. The old team were so friendly and helpful and I really felt looked after.

My first experience with the new team will be my last, the customer service was poor and I felt patronised and uncomfortable. To top it off, when I collected my car my dad had called to pay for it over the phone for me (due to losing my bank card) and I was told "Daddy has called up to pay for you, aren't you spoilt" I was so shocked I didn't know how to respond.
Would not recommend them, especially for young women on their own.

I had my eye on a car and was told that…

I had my eye on a car and was told that it was in pristine condition and this was meant to be reflected on the price which was non negotiable. I was dealt with Tim the Sales Manager who noted some minor scruffs on the car prior viewing. With covid restrictions in place, my only option was to go by his word.

After travelling from afar to view the car after putting a £250 deposit down, I was annoyed to find that the bumper of the car looked as though something was wrong with it as it wasn’t sitting flush to the car and had looked that perhaps it had been hit in the past. There was some sort of glue perhaps holding it together. There was also a small amount of rust on the bonnet which raised another concern as I did not want this to spread causing worry. The alternative the salesman suggested was for them to paint over it with a touch up pen. My partner who is in the same industry had suggested this was not going to solve the problem. The rust would’ve needed sanding down and a respray to resolve this issue.

Upon arriving to the dealership I also assumed I was meeting Tim who has dealt with my multiple queries of the car I was interested in. He was not there to see his customer and I wasn’t informed prior to this. He did apologise as it was his day off and told me I was in good hands with the salesman there. This was minor but what happened next shocked me.

The problems occurred after I went for a test drive and spoke about some concerns I had with the car (bumper, rust as well as a red mark on the white car which looked like it was parked too close to a red car?) the salesman then called Tim for advice who apologised for not noting the problem with the bumper I had seen but said the car was still a good buy.

In the meantime, my partner who was checking the car over for me was approached by what we thought was a passbyer walking a dog aggressively stating that there was no issue with the car whilst I was on the phone to Tim.

He turned out to be the owner of the dealership, not in uniform and no PPE who just happened to be there.

There was no introduction to who he was and I felt bombarded with his aggressive defensive behaviour about the car after my phone call to Tim.

I have worked in customer service myself for over 8 years and could not believe what I was experiencing.

His body language and his mannerism whilst speaking to me and my partner was so rude and he had called us fussy whilst pointing at us at one point.

Such a shocking service from him, it had really put me off buying the car and he even shouted saying the car wasn’t for us.

There was also builders opposite working and he was honestly looking at them and not me whilst speaking about the car at one point causing an unnecessary uncomfortable scene.

I had to also introduce myself that I was the customer and asked for his name when it really should be the other way around to take a few steps back from his confrontation.

It is normal for customers to raise any concerns of the car they are buying. It is to be expected.. there could’ve been some sort of compromise especially with the bumper issue but there was no alternative options nor did he even suggest to get this fixed perhaps before I purchase.

I just think after running a business myself, the owner should not be dealing with customers directly. He got personal which is a big no whilst dealing with customers and did not take feedback well. If they want to take on any constructive feedback - would be to never argue with your customers as this can really hurt your business.

After reading other reviews now (I wished I did properly before), it seems this is an ongoing issue with the owner.
And to be completely honest, Tim and the salesman were pleasant.

I’m glad I did not purchase the car, after the service I received. To be honest, my chance of buying the car was taken away from the owner which is a shame for him and his business. My hard earned money can go elsewhere even though I wasted my journey.

A customers’ experience outweighs any product.

After writing the below review the company have contacted my friend and told her they will not be carrying out the required work on her car because I have left a negative review. The car is under warranty and had had to be repaired 11 times. What an awful company . Avoid avoid - will be contacting Plymouth live. Lots of people commenting on Facebook groups regarding this company and lots of people on here clearly with same issues.

Avoid at all costs!

Avoid at all costs!! My friends car was taken out on finance here. After returning the car 11 times and having to have it repaired monthly, after finally having enough and contacting TIM sales manager, she was hung up on and told to contact tracing standards. Disgusting!! We’re in hard times and your ripping people off. Shameless

Amazing company and amazing service

Amazing company and amazing service, very easy and professional, I was dealing with Tim who is a delight and above all makes you feel welcome ( not like a normal car salesman), the quality of service offered and provided is above any other I have had before. Thank you Tim it was a pleasure.

Well where to start with Plympton Car…

Well where to start with Plympton Car Centre! I have been buying used cars for over 20 years now and this team are the best, Plympton car centre sales staff are amazing! They are professional, helpful, knowledgeable and do anything they can to help you! I did have a minor issue with my car but after one phone call with Adam I knew I was going to be looked after by their workshop PMC! I was booked in for 8:00am the following day and was even given a courtesy car so I could carry on my day! The car was ready to collect within two hours with the bill being covered by PCC!

Still loving the car and I hope you are all still very busy and keeping safe! 👍🏼

Avoid at all costs

If I could give a zero I would. I bought a car 1year ago, in this year the car had been in the garage more times then out. Shocking service, would rather argue with you even though they are wrong. Will charge you to fix the problem when they have told you it's under warranty. Went back 3 times with a leak in the boot, the first time they charged me £80 then 2nd time it went back was because they didnt put the car back together properly and something was hitting my wheels, 3rd time they charged me again to fix the leak in the boot that should 9f been fixed the first time, when I confronted them they said it would be on the house then got there only to be charged. Very rude staff. Owner needs to learn some manners. Have requested a call back from him but I'm still waiting, suppose he doesnt want to hear the truth. Avoid and save yourself the hassle.
Update; realised my engine is burning oil and needs a new engine.... so not only am I stuck with a car that constantly breaks, I cant drive it because the engines buggered, brilliant

Terrible place bad customer service

Terrible place bad customer service. Very rude team. Especially if your a women. They always use the excuse "if you buy an old car you will get problems" in the first 4 weeks of owning the car the car had a water leak and flat tyre in the first week and headlight out (not a problem all got fixed). Then starter motor and clutch then 2 door handles fell off. Sensor troubles saying bonet and boot was open. Alarm going off every night (very annoyed neighbours). Electric window button falls off. And now leak in the boot has returned 3 times. Garage across the road just as useless and they use them to "fix" cars. They charge an arm and leg and still don't fix the car. Avoid at all cost!

My first car

This is my first time buying a car. I saw the car on autotrader at the beginning of the year. As it’s an automatic it’s pretty rare to find one with really low mileage and still looking good as new. Spoke to Tim to arrange a viewing. Friendliest guy, never felt pressured as I was on the phone to my sister to help me check it out and told me the battery needed replacing which would be done before it took the car home. Tim was then taken during the time I was doing my checks so I had Adam. He to was really friendly, answered all my questions and felt genuine. Purchased the car as I couldn’t find any reason not too! Fantastic service and a great team. Highly recommend PCC!!

Continued from last review ....

This is a continuation from my previous review. I took my car for a service today at a different garage, the oil leak that was supposedly fixed by PCC is not fixed at all and when I called to let them know that it was not fixed they tried to tell me it was not the same problem - how do they know when they haven’t even seen the car this time around - this could have, and should have, been fixed under warranty but now I am having to pay for it to be done.
Do not touch this company, not only is their work below standard but their customer service is non existent.
In response to their comments below I should point out that in January 2020 when the car was serviced an oil leak was found, this was worked on at PCC under warranty. Then came the MOT in July 2020, again an oil leak was found in the same area so it went back to PCC to be worked on under warranty. Now, shock of all shocks, there’s an oil leak in the same area. The help they mentioned trying to give me on the phone was literally “as it’s in another garage now you might as well get them to fix it”. Is it any wander I didn’t stay on the line with this kind of customer service?!

Hi Paula,

Thanks for your review, however I find it only fair to highlight a few points.

You've had the car 18 months now. Your had a 12 month warranty.

We did repair a oil leak for you 6 months ago but as suggested on the phone that if this was the same leak the chances of you having any oil left after 6 months is slim and you would of at least seen signs of a leak this over that time period.

After hearing this you hung up and wouldn't return our calls despite us trying to help.

We do take our customer care very seriously so are sorry to hear that you feel this way.

Bought a kuga from here in December 2019
The car was in and out of the garage for weeks and weeks with the same issue
After a month the garage told us the turbo had gone
And we had to pay half towards it
Even though the car was under warranty
The car also came with MOT FOR LIFE and 3yrs services
But when we booked the car for MOT
We turned up for MOT and was told that they would not work on the car any more

Never again

Always used them when AJ MOTORS, returned after a couple of years to be greeted with the rudest receptionist ever. To top that, they "lost" my wheel nut spanner, only to find it when I turned up, with no apology from receptionist. 24 hours later, they checked a defective light, to tell me I couldn't have the car back for another 24 hours. Won't be going back again!
