Received a Gift Voucher unable to redeem

I got a Gift Voucher from my wonderful Boss for a two night Premium Escape.

*First gripe the App wouldn’t accept my voucher reference number or pin!
* After more than 6 attempts to get any kind of help or response, I gave up…
* The “helpful” most commonly asked questions were also no help.

This has been going on for months on & off & to date I’ve had zero contact.
Apart from the fact nobody seems interested once they have been paid, the website isn’t that easy to navigate…

For example if you want to buy a car A.T. will ask…
• How much do you want to spend?
• How far do you want to travel?

All great questions but if you’re only going for two nights showing me places 6+hours away is a bit far… & half the time I don’t know where the place is if I’ve never heard of it?! If you catch my drift.

Places to visit within X many miles for a budget of £??? Would be fantastic, oh & maybe some Customer Service too.
Rant over.. Do not recommend

Abysmal from start to finish

Abysmal from start to finish. Following an incorrect code on a driving experience voucher, I spent x1 hour in one chat trying to resolve it. I was assured someone would get back to me. Two weeks later and not a peep. I tried again and spent 10 minutes shy of x4 hours online in a chat trying to resolve it. I was sent another code, which again turned out to be incorrect. They said it was a fault at the driving experience end. They then asked me to call the driving experience company directly as they said they could not book for me. I asked the driving experience operative them about the fault and they said they'd been booking that day with vouchers and with no problems, which suggests the issue as with Red Letter and they were trying to blame the third party supplier. I asked Red Letter for a refund and was told "no" as 30-days had elapsed since buying the voucher. In the interim I was sent a link in the chat to book a meal at Gordon Ramsay's?! Clearly the staff are trying to manage multiple calls simultaneously. I reminded that the product sold was 'faulty' and repeated my request for a refund. With nearly 4-hours on the clock they relented. I got an email confirming the refund and promptly called the driving experience company and booked. I was able to do a quick google and find a money off voucher to book the driving experience, which was a bonus. I will NEVER buy anything from this shoddy Red Letter outfit again.

Not quite a spa day

Booked a spa day at Bannatyne however I wouldn’t call it a spa day. There as a steam and sauna by the pool of a heath club which was full of members.
The massage however was nice. Very expensive for what it was

Easy process with lots of choice

Lots of options for different hotel breaks including UK, city breaks and European. We used our 2 night voucher to book BCL Levante Club and Spa in Benidorm which was a great choice. Booking was easy and when we contacted the hotel to add an extra night they couldn't be more helpful and had all our details from red letter days booking. Would definately purchase this type of voucher again.

Lack of clarity on experience and room type

The stay I was gifted said I'd be staying in a historical coaching inn but the room available via the voucher was a standard room in a separate building at the back.

So much fun for a girly day out

So much fun for a girly day out! Went to PizzaEast for this cocktail making masterclass with a friend, we learnt to make twists on classic cocktails which were delicious and we felt so looked after by Flavia. The food was excellent too, I am lactose intolerant, but my friend wasn't, however they adapted the menu slightly to make sure I could still enjoy the meal and my friend still got to try some cheesy goodness. Overall had a great experience, thank you so much!

Appalling Customer Service from Red Letter Days

This is not about a specific "experience" it's about the Customer service at Red Letter Days which is appalling - next to non existent. I have been trying to get a response to an issue for nearly 2 months and communications from their team have been sparse and unhelpful. I was unable to book the experience I paid for and despite the site saying "unable to link to diary - try again later" I discovered that the spa had parted company with RLD over a year before! Also was not able to exchange to another experience online - just going round and round in circles. I would not recommend this company - when things go wrong they just don't want to know and you cannot get resolution

I bought a voucher for my partners birthday which was misleading on venues available. When i tried to contact your company it was impossible. No phone number or email just a live chat that didn’t respond

Easy to book but the meal was mediocre…

Easy to book but the meal was mediocre which is an issue with Slug and Lettuce rather than Red Letter but in our area we were limited as to what we could book so plumped for this. I would not recommend.

This company is a nightmare and a rip off - don't even go there.

We were gifted a sparkling afternoon tea for two by our daughter for Christmas 2024. It came with a glossy book about 10mm thick listing all the tea for two experiences. The gift cost our daugther £50 and with our previous knowledge of a tea for two, should have been more than adequate. Now we live in Gloucester and would have been willing to travel anywhere in Gloucestershire to enjoy such an experience. There were exactly two venues in Gloucestershire in the book and one of them wanted another £25 extra to book and the other one had withdrawn from the offer. Now this is only tea for two, so we would reasonably expect not to have to travel out of our county to experience this! So we decided to switch to a visit to the cinema. The Red Letter Day website has to be the worst website I have ever come across, it is not user friendly and you keep going around in circles. We did eventually manage to book up but needed help from their support staff. After visiting the cinema we wanted to know how much money was left on the voucher bearing in mind that a trip to the cinema was on a weekend going to cost £26 for the two of us (being senior citizens and going off peak during the week like we did costs less but I expect this was costed at the highest price). However trying to find out how much was left on the voucher using their website is again a nightmare. We are just going to write off any funds we have left and hopefully by posting this will warn people about the nightmare of Red Letter Days, Don't go there people.

It works

It works, I have used the chat facility when I had a problem but there are some experiences which when you click on them say they are valid with 2025 dates. You need to do more to ensure dates/events are updated. Slug & Lettuce have been closing as have Cuba Revolution venues so check what is there

Rip off

You only actually get about 2 minutes maximum in the wind tunnel. To go to the middle of the tube and be taken up higher by an instructor for around 30 seconds was an extra £20. I felt it was a total rip off.
I went with my daughter so could not take a photo as we were both in the tunnel. The instructor said it was no problem as we would be emailed a photo and video. What he didn't mention was that costs £15 to buy.
