Poor business etiquette.

I was in the throes of negotiating a deal for a used Toyota CHR and the salesman( name witheld) said he would get back to me with the necessary paperwork via email but after two days, l heard nothing. A message which l sent to this salesman suggested "because l haven't heard from you, do l assume you no longer want my business"? Although my message was read, l have never received a response. Having read other poor reviews about this car dealership, l can only assume that their customer service skills and business etiquette requires drastic improvement. Ron Brooks have let down yet, another customer.

Having bought a Suzuki Vitara from Ron Brooks in Mansfield I can't praise them enough. Fabulous customer service from Chris who made the whole experience seamless. I love my new car and will be definitely be visiting again. Thank you sooo much!

Rude staff, port planning of time

I would leave less than one star if possible. I was booked a test drive at 11:30am on Sunday 1st Feb. I have two young children that I needed to sort out, and a multitude of other jobs I required to do.
Chloe had the gone out with a customer at 11:30, when I turned up at 11:28am, on time she was no where to be found.
I spoke to a manager who said there was nothing he could do.
He advised when back in with the customer, for me to interrupt and speak to her and ask how long she will be.
I followed his advice and she looked terrified and said she would sort it, in actual fact she went outside, made a personal call and hoped that we would leave.
When she returned we asked if she had sorted it when the rude and disrespectful customer started to give my wife abuse.
The overall experience is less than poor.
My advice do not go for a test drive or guy from this branch, you’ll be waiting forever to get served and then you’ll be met with disgusting attitude

Great MOT experience thanks to Collette at Ron Brooks

I’ve just had my first experience of the service/MOT facility at Ron Brooks In Ilkeston and I’m pleased to say that, thanks to Collette, who was very accommodating when I had to change my MOT date and time due to a clash with a funeral and then a hospital appointment, this was an excellent experience. As far as I’m concerned, she went above and beyond to help me get through these situations. Thanks to the welcome team and also to the MOT team for their prompt service. Thank you. Steve

Poor customer service, again.

I called yesterday to speak to service, but there was no reply. I tried again later with the same result so in desperation rang sales which was answered within 20 seconds. Service were not available so they took my details and said service would call me. No one called so I rang again and left another message and 24 hours later I’m still waiting. My car is due for change in September, but I’m sorry Ron Brooks, I’ll be going elsewhere. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues.

This garage was superb from start to finish when I purchased a Toyota Yaris from them, Codie in sales was so helpful so I must give her a 10 for her professional knowledge. Thank you to all and I would highly recommend this dealership.

Very dissapointed

I have always valued Ron Brooks highly, but unfortunately last week and today was a massive let down albeit not entirely their fault.
My car was booked in last week for a repair to chromework on my rear wheels which is a specialist job and carried out by an outside contractor. This contractor failed to arrive last week having phoned in sick at 10.ooa.m. that morning ? I was almost at Ron Brooks having travelled 20 miles, I gave the contractor the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and rebooked for today. After travelling 20miles again I checked in to Ron Brooks Toyota Mansfield and was tole the contractor had phoned in and said he shouldn't be long as he was stuck in traffic. Two and a half hours later I was still waiting for this so called specialist outfit to arrive, were was he travelling from'Cornwall?Eventually I cancelled the job and left. I understand this was not entirely Ron Brooks fault, however they used what I consider on this occasion, an unreliable contractor, who not only let their customer down but also the Ron Brooks name.
Very dissapointed long standing customer.

Price was discussed thoroughly and clearly especially
as he knew that I am a retired pensioner what is my spending limit and strength.
Now surely it’s not going to be surprise to him when I am going to tell him that how I am unhappy regarding his dealing with customers.Either he has to put back agreed price or he is going to lose sale altogether.
Salespersons are like him blight n industry especially knowing fully well recent well published car industry dishonest practices .When are they going to learn?

Ron Brooks, Suzuki, Derby.
All the showroom staff were helpful and polite.
Dave Harvey, who sold us the car was very helpful and answered all of my questions. He was not pushy and definitely not how I expected a sales person to be. we were very pleased with the whole experience.
Highly recommended

I have just picked up my new car from…

I have just picked up my new car from Ron Brooks Derby, the Jaecoo 7. What an amazing car! From initial visiting the dealer to collecting today, the service and communication has been excellent. David Harvey was exceptional in taking time to talk us through the whole process and the handover with him was first class. It’s so nice to deal with someone who takes the time to explain how the car works. I would highly recommend this Dealership and definitely the Jaecoo 7. Thanks to Jibral too for your help it has been most appreciated.

£20k and faulty battery

I bought a CHR for 20K and within four months, the car wouldn't start due to a flat battery. I complained about this, they said the battery was OK. The car wouldn't start on a weekly basis and sometimes more frequently. I had to buy a battery booster pack to use the vehicle. I ended up buying a new battery for £120 (they wanted £200). When my service package runs out, I will not be returning to Ron Brooks and feel badly let down by this company

Amazing service from Salman

Amazing service from Salman, he knew his stuff and helped us to secure the new JAECOO, after my husband wrote of our Jeep.
We picked it up the following week.
Couldn’t recommend both Ron brooks and the JAECOO more. I forgive my husband for his mistake 😂
One very happy customer!
Please ask for Salman if you want the best service, he was on hand to make sure the whole process went smoothly,

excellent service

very pleased with service. Steve knows all there is to know about the cars he sells - and he ensured that I was familiar with all the controls etc before I drove off! He even escourted me to the start of my route home - which was very important to me as I was in unfamiliar territory.

Don't trust the salesperson in RON BROOKS DERBY

I bought my car (Suzuki S-Cross) in May 2025, while the experience was too bad.
Initially I trusted the salesperson that there was NO observable dents or scratches on my approve used car, as the salesperson didn't tell me anything about this and I assumed there should be no problem. But after careful checking the same day after driving back to my home, a dent (near the oil tank) has been found and I told the salesperson about this.
The salesperson told me to drive the car back for having a check to see if there is anything that could help. But, after the check, the salesperson told me that the dent was too "deep" enough that needs to "re-coat" the colour again if I really want to "remove" the dent. Under my understanding, that means the dent was not easy to be overlooked.
So, it is under my strong suspicion that the salesperson was either "performing unprofessional and very careless" or "cheating me intentionally".
So, DON'T TRUST RON BROOKS DERBY ANY MORE!
