There was a blockage en route and instead of turning and trying to find an alternative route, which was possible (I discovered afterwards). I had to get out and walk for 12 minutes with a heavy bag. The driver still charged me full price.

I have used Royal cars a lot in the past and they were always reliable. Last week I ordered a car at Oxford station using the App. It pulled up within 4 minutes, right in front of me. Super I thought. Two people got out and the app flashed saying the car was changed and now 20 minutes away. Someone else got into the car in front of me and drove off.

I then watched as the newly allocated car drove into Oxford and was three streets away saying 11 minutes to get to me. It then turned south and headed out of the city towards the ring round and went back to 19 minutes to arrive. At that point I cancelled. 20 minutes standing in the rain and the prospect of a further 20. No thanks.

These folks used to be great but the App is crippling them. Why would a driver already in the city centre head out only to come back in. There were no road blocks, traffic or issues. It was 8pm.

I wrote a nice letter of complaint and heard nothing back. No apology. Nothing. That says it all.

I won't use them again. My husband is infinitely more reliable.

I have had royal cars for 3 morning school runs through the council transport and have never been on time, my child is SEN and gets really unsettled about not been on time. Today they were 40 mins late .....I will see how the rest of the week goes
